The First Day in New Term

Today is September 3rd, the first day of the new semester. I am happy to see all of my classmates come back to school. Today is the first day for school, so we get our new textbooks. This time, the main destination is Australia, a country which is in the Southern Hemisphere. I want to feel the opposite climate, see never-seen scenery and experience the land and its people and live a quite new life for 7 days.

So I have chosen a travel agent to help me with my journey. They offer Qantas flights the entire journey with free meals and three-star or four-star hotels for accommodation.

The first day:

I will take the Qantas Airways non-stop international flight (QF106) to Sydney, the capital of South Wales and Australia’s oldest largest city and port, to star the trip to Australia, overnight on board.

The second day:

Upon arrival, I will take a bus to visit St. Mary’s Church, Hyde Park and other interests. Then, I will visit the world-famous, Australia’s most beautiful building----the Sydney Opera House. There will be professionals conducting a detailed explanation in the House. By the

evening, I can visit the well-known Darling Harbor; enjoy the Sydney Bridge and a western-style dinner on board.

The third day:

After the breakfast, I will start from Sydney to Wollongong by bus. We drive to the Sea Cliff Bridge, the most beautiful and special part along the road. I can visit in accordance with steep cliffs and built up to 655 meters of overhead bridges to appreciate the beauty of the Pacific. Then I’d go to the cleanest beach of the New South Wales State; visit the first brewery in Wollongong and have lunch there. The forth day:

I will take a flight to Cairns, a city which is rounded by palm trees. It’s a tourist city, where there are magnificent mountains, dense rain forests. The forests are the world’s oldest, largest tropical rain forest. I can novel amphibious vehicles traveling around the forests, experience exotic enjoyment. What’s more, I can watch the indigenous people’s wonderful dance performance.

The fifth day:

Take a bus to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Terminal and take a ship to the world-famous Reef. Located off the coast of the north-eastern Australia, it is the world’s largest coral island, which stretches over 2000km, including thousands of coral reefs and shoals, known as “the eighth wonder of the world”. The sixth day:

I would fly to the capital of Queensland----Brisbane. Then I’ll take a visit to the South Bank Parkland where the 1988 world exposition had been held. Go to the City Hall located in the King George

Square. It is the central symbol of Brisbane. Then I will drive to the Gold Coast, which is known as a paradise for tourists. After arrival, I’d visit the Fool Terminal.

The seventh day (the last day):

After breakfast, I will go to the Warner Movie World, which is a theme park of an area of 1.68 square kilometers. I can enjoy the

roller coaster and see a different film production process, great

effects and super performance and a lot of cartoon characters. Then I will go to a farm to pay a visit. I went to Hai Nan with my parents during the Chinese New Year and visited my relatives over there. The weather over there was beautiful. It was so much warmer than my city. We stayed in a hotel and we spent a lot of time on the beaches. My parents also took me for a ride round the island. It was so much fun and I wish it was longer.

One night Mr Lee was driving his wife home from work. She was a nurse in a

hospital. It was almost midnight and she was quite tired out. She soon fell

asleep. Mr Lee looked at her and smiled.

Mr Lee was a careful and experienced driver. He knew it was safer to drive

slowly on a dark night. After some time he noticed a car following him. It was

travelling very fast. Suddenly it overtook his car.

The driver of the car was in a hurry. He did not see the approaching lorry.

To avoid hitting it, he suddenly tuned his car. It skidded off the road and hit

a big tree. The driver and his passenger were injured.They were badly cut by

glass from the broken windscreen.Mr Lee quickly stopped his car by the side of

the road. His wife got out of the car to help the injured. The lorry driver also

stopped to help. Mr Lee drove off to telephone the police . About twenty-five

minutes later, a police car and an ambulance arrived. The injured were carried

into the ambulance and taken to hospital.

The policemen took down details of the accident. Mr Lee and the lorry

driver told them all they could remember. The policemen thanked them for their

help. Mr and Mrs Lee got into their car and continued their journey home.

为了这一目标，我特意为自己制定几条学习计划，我要以这个计划为目标，在新学期奋力拼搏。

第一条：做好课前预习：

预习非常重要，如果只凭空去听讲，那么学习知识就是囫囵吞枣。在老师讲课之前，我们要做好充分的预习，熟悉课文，跟老师的讲解相结合，才会有效果。

第二条：上课认真听讲：

上课认真听讲是每一位学生必须要做到的。认真听老师说的每一句话，专心致志，一心一意，要珍惜每分每秒。当老师讲到重点的时候，我们还要做好笔记，把老师说的重点记下了，以便复习。

第三条：在写作业之前，做好课后复习。

不管做什么作业，在做之前，都要先回顾一下，当天老师所讲内容。并且一定要把字写端正、写干净，每道题做完都要认真检查要做对做好，不能够马虎。

第四条：准备一个错题本，把平时的错题和不会的题抄上去集中起来，在抄上去后一定要弄会弄懂，不会的一定要主动去问老师，在考前把错题本上的题必须全部搞懂。

这就是我的新学期计划，四年级，我一定要好好学习，天天向上！

看完之后，我恍然大悟，没错，只要有了一个合理的学习计划，就不用再担心模糊的下一步了，心动不如行动，我马上找来纸和笔，正要提笔写，忽然想，这毕竟是一学期的学习计划，不能草率。于是我望着面前的纸和笔静静的沉思。须臾，一个完美周密的计划浮上心头，我握起笔，在纸上写着：

一、从最基本的学生的义务做起。上课认真听讲，作业认真完成，不懂就要问等等。

二﹑早上起床后两小时和晚上睡觉前两小时是黄金时期，所以我要好好利用，晚上先复习好当天的功课，然后诵读30分钟课文。早上预习好当天将学习的课程，再朗读30分钟英语。

三﹑可以选择，从弱科开始下手，多花点劲，强科则只要略略加强就可以，因为初中是要算总分的，不能太偏科，这样可以有效节省时间。

四﹑多读有益书籍，书籍是人类进步的阶梯，如果有空余时间，可以用来读课外书，“里应外和”。

五﹑要劳逸结合，这是我认为就好的方法，因为学习就想咀嚼食物，是要消化的，需要时间，如果单单只有老，恐怕要“消化不良”了，也不能单只有逸，所以有劳有逸才是最好的学习方法。

六、可以多看看作文网里面的作文，学习里面的写作方法，如果有灵感，还可以自己写一篇投稿，受益匪浅。

七、晚上复习时，可以把今天所学的知识写到原先准备好的学习笔记里，以及随堂感想，方便以后复习。

写好之后，我略略从头到尾检查了几遍，慢慢折叠起来，小心翼翼的放好。朝窗外望去一条崎岖的路，清晰而显见的轮廓，那里有胜利在向我招手。

2018年，对于我来说，既是新的一年，也是六年小学时光的最后一年，我深知“学习如逆水行舟，不进则退”的道理，因此我要利用最后一学期时间努力学习，在学习上取得更大进步。以下是我的学习计划。

语文方面，我决定每天按时完成作业，字体工整，上课时要积极举手发言，要多发表我自己的理解与看法。每天抽出一个小时时间背诵古诗词与国学知识，每周读一本课外书，以增加我的课外知识，扩大知识面。最后报一个作文班，把作文提高到一个理想的高度。

数学方面，虽然自我感觉学的还不错，但是我还要更加努力，上课时会认真听讲，课后要多做练习巩固。这学期我还是会继续学习奥数，每天坚持做十道奥数题，以提高奥数能力，争取在最后一学期期末考试进入全校五十名以内。

目前英语课仍是我的弱项，在学习方面很吃力，但是我会每天抽出一些时间多记单词与语法，争取最后一学期能够通过查漏补缺，把英语短板尽快补上。

体育方面，俗话说的好“身体是革命的本钱”，没有一个很好的身体，其他的都是“浮云”。因此我每天要合理饮食，多吃有营养的饭菜，少吃垃圾食品，每天早睡早起，并养成一个早起锻炼的好习惯。在周末学习之余，我还要多去户外运动，如多打羽毛球、踢足球等等。

最后一学期我要严格执行这个学习计划，不仅在学习上取得进步，而且身体也要更健康，争取考上理想的初中。

——to the Parents of the Columbia Astronauts

Dear parents of the Columbia astronauts.

I am a student from X X Middle School in China. My name is Li Ming. I was very sorrowful when I learned from TV that SpShuttle Columbia broke up during re-entry and seven astronauts all lost their lives. You have lost your lovely sons arid daughters. You must be very grieved. However, you must also be proud of your children, because they have done great contributions to space projects. So please restrain your sorrow.

Although this time they thiled, we could I get some experience from their failure. We will continue developing space projects, because we can explore the space through those projects and search for more information about sion that they havent done.
