the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. This

festival is to commemorate the death of QU Yuan， an upright and honest poet and

statesman who is said to have committed suicide by drowning himself in a

river.

The most important activity of this festival is the Dragon Boat races. It

symbolizes people‘s attempts to rescue Qu Yuan. In the current period， these

races also demonstrate the virtues of cooperation and teamwork.

Besides， the festival has also been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous

rice)。 Zong zi is made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and

wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves. People who mourned the death of Qu threw Zong

zi into the river to feed his ghost every year.

With the changes of the times， the memorial turns to be a time for

protection from evil and disease for the rest of year. People will hang healthy

herbs on the front door to clear the bad luck of the house. Although the

significance of the festival might be different with the past， it still gives

the observer an opportunity to glimpse a part of the rich Chinese cultural

heritage.

端午节,又称为端午节,定在第五个月的第五天据中国日历。这个节日是为了纪念屈原的死,一个忠厚老实的诗人和政治家据说在河流溺水自杀。

这个节日最重要的活动是龙舟竞赛。它象征着人们的努力救屈原。在当前时期,这些比赛也证明合作和团队合作的优点。

此外,节日还被吃的粽子(糯米)。粽子是糯米做的塞满了不同的馅料包在竹叶或芦苇叶。人哀悼屈原的死亡把粽子扔进河里喂他的鬼魂。

随着时代的变化,纪念转向防止邪恶和疾病是一个时间的。人们会把健康的草药挂在前门清理房子的坏运气。虽然这个节日的意义可能与过去不同,它仍然使观察者看到的机会丰富的中国文化遗产的一部分。

Christmas Day

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy day for many boys and girls. Before the term ends in some schools, the children act a nativity or “birth” play, showing how Jesus was born in a stable.

12月25日是圣诞节。对许多男孩和女孩来说，这天是个非常开心的日子。在某些学校，学期结束前，孩子们会表演有关（耶稣）诞生或出生的戏剧，用来（向大家）展示耶稣是如何在马厩里出生的。

On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace, so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later that night, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.

在12月24日这天，所有的小孩都很兴奋。他们常常被（父母）早早地赶上床去睡觉，以便他们的父母能准备好礼物。年幼一点的小孩认为圣诞老人将从烟囱或壁炉里下来，所以他们挂起袜子，方便圣诞老人把礼物放进去。有些贪心的人，为了能得到更多的礼物，甚至把枕套或布袋挂起来。晚一些时候，爸爸或妈妈将礼物放进袜子，并把其他礼物放在（孩子们的）床边。

On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two oclock, and most of them are awake by six oclock, and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one oclock in the afternoon, the Christmas dinner is brought in. The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten. Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it. The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas holidays comes to an end.

圣诞节的早上，小孩们很早就醒来了。一些人甚至在凌晨两点开灯，但大多数小孩会在六点醒来，孩子们在（大人们）准备晚餐的时候玩耍。下午一点，圣诞大餐出炉了。火鸡或鸡腿总是很快被抢光。孩子们寻找着属于他们的圣诞布丁是为了确认金币是否有藏在里面。在剩余的时间里，（人们）便是玩游戏和吃食物直到最开心幸福的圣诞节结束。

Our class held a celebration of New Years day party.

I quickly walked on stage and bowed first, and then skillfully up the beautiful melody. 我们班召开了庆元旦联欢会。

教室里有说有笑，十分热闹。只见黑板上写了六个大字：庆元旦联欢会。

主持人上台啦!“首先有请种景给我们演奏《龙的传人》。”教室里立刻响起一片热烈的掌声。我快步走上台，先鞠了个躬，然后熟练地弹起那优美的旋律。我边弹边唱，许多同学也跟着我唱，同学们不断地给我鼓掌，我的心里十分高兴。

“下面，有请徐瑞宇为我们表演《绳子穿脖子》。”只见徐瑞宇用一根绳子紧紧地勒住了自己的脖子，然后双手猛一抖，绳子从脖子里穿了过来，又扯在了徐瑞宇的手里。咦，绳子是怎么从脖子里穿过去的呢?太神奇了!

接下来，同学们有表演了许多节目，有唱歌的，有猜谜语的，出脑筋急转弯的，还有变魔术的……每一个节目都很精彩。

走在回家的路上，我不住地想：我们班的庆元旦联欢会真是太精彩了!

I was a lively and cheerful and brave pupils in the class is worthy of the name "big star". I was very good at math. I was sealed by Mr. Zhou as a representative of math class. I also got the good praise from Mr. Huang.

Once, I saw in the exercises when the teacher Huang and Professor Zhou refers to me, I think that is calling me. After the exercise, the teacher let my mother come to school, I was more nervous! When my mother talked to the teacher, I knew that my sister was praised. (call to a false alarm.)
