Thank you very much for your concern. Last months several places in Beijing were blanketed with thick yellow fog. Everything around disappeared from oursight. Some highways were closed. Traffic jams were commonly seen in the streets. Many people, especially children and seniors, even found it difficult to breathe. As a result, local hospitals were crowded with people who had problems with their noses and lungs. Part of the cause was the dry weather, but the severely damaged environment contributed a lot to this nightmare. 可是听到这消息，我一点都高兴不起来。

雾霾，名副其实，就是雾和霾的总称。但是雾和霾并不是同一种物质，它们的区别是很大的。

霾，就是灰霾，也就是空气中的一些灰尘，杂物混合在一起的浑浊现象。远远望去，就像是黄山云海般，让人误以为自己身处云端。可是霾终究和云雾不同，它的危害可是不小的。大家可以想象，如果公路上一片浑浊，交通事故是不可避免。人们吸进那些有害物质对身心健康也是一种危害。霾也分很多级，有轻微霾，轻度霾，中度霾和重度霾。在我看了新闻后，发现上海那片城市已经云雾缭绕了，却只是中度霾，可见如果是重度霾，在那一片灰蒙蒙，不见天日的场景下，会发生什么令人惊悚的事。
