Lying at the center of Beijing, the Forbidden City, called Gu Gong, in Chinese, was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Now known as the Palace Museum, it is to the north of Tiananmen Square. Rectangular in shape, it is the worlds largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. Surrounded by a six meter deep moat and a ten meter high wall are 9,999 buildings. The wall has a gate on each side. Opposite the Tiananmen Gate, to the north is the Gate of Devine Might (Shenwumen), which faces Jingshan Park. The distance between these two gates is 960 meters, while the distance between the gates in the east and west walls is 750 meters. There are unique and delicately structured towers on each of the four corners of the curtain wall. These afford views over both the palace and the city outside. The northern section, or the Inner Court was where he lived with his royal family. Until 1924 when the last emperor of China was driven from the Inner Court, fourteen emperors of the Ming dynasty and ten emperors of the Qing dynasty had reigned here. Having been the imperial palace for some five centuries, it houses numerous rare treasures and curiosities. Listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987, the Palace Museum is now one of the most popular tourist attractions world wide.

Construction of the palace complex began in 1407, the 5th year of the Yongle reign of the third emperor of the Ming dynasty. It was completed fourteen years later in 1420. It was said that a million workers including one hundred thousand artisans were driven into the long-term hard labor. Stone needed was quarried from Fangshan, a suburb of Beijing. It was said a well was dug every fifty meters along the road in order to pour water onto the road in winter to slide huge stones on ice into the city. Huge amounts of timber and other materials were freighted from faraway provinces. Ancient Chinese people displayed their very considerable skills in building the Forbidden City. Take the grand red city wall for example. It has an 8.6 meters wide base reducing to 6.66 meters wide at the top. The angular shape of the wall totally frustrates attempts to climb it. The bricks were made from white lime and glutinous rice while the cement is made from glutinous rice and egg whites. These incredible materials make the wall extraordinarily strong.

Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family, it is the dominant color in the Forbidden City. Roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow; even the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process. However, there is one exception. Wenyuange, the royal library, has a black roof. The reason is that it was believed black represented water then and could extinguish fire.

阅兵开始，开始检阅陆海空三军。随后三军开始列方队通过天安门城楼。首先有14个徒步方队向天安门城楼走来，只见解放军叔叔个个都是帅小伙，让我感受到了什么是威武之师。爸爸还特别告诉我，你看，特种兵方队，这是第一次参加阅兵。让我惊艳不已的是女民兵方队，真是万绿丛中一点红，阿姨们排着整齐的队伍，迈着有力的正步，只听见那“唰、唰”的步伐声回荡在耳边。从电视画面里仔细看，整个方队就像一个个方块在移动，可想而知，为了今天的成功，叔叔阿姨在平日的训练里付出了多少努力啊!接着30个装备方队铁流滚滚、气势磅礴地向天安门驶来。听电视播音员介绍，这些坦克、导弹、雷达车、无人机和卫星通信车等信息化装备都是我国自主研发的，性能已经达到了世界先进水平。最后151架战机编成的12个空中梯队呼啸凌空。其中有我国首批培养的女飞行员，她们驾驶着飞机在天安门上空打出了一道道彩色烟弹。

国庆阅兵庆典让我久久难以平静，我被深深地震撼了：人民军队用事实，用实际行动，展现出了中国的军魂，中国的力量，让世界看到了现在的中国神圣不可侵犯。我也真切体会到祖国是多么的强大，我作为中华民族的儿女感到无比的自豪!我也想高声大喊：

祖国万岁!

i have rested for a week. i began to feel bored. so i went out with my friends. they are my best friends in the middle school. we didn’t go to someplace special. we just saw the other. we had lunch together. while we were having lunch, we were still talking about the new school and new friends. yes! a year later, we have grown riper. and we learned much more things and got new life. we haven’t enough time to play, to waste and to lose the way. we only have two years. two years to go, we will get the real life which belongs to us.

Since I was very small, my parents sent me to learn painting. They thought

I could understand art and mastered one skill. This experience brings me the

sense of art. I have my own understanding of it.

On the one hand, art is an important way to express peoples opinion. When

we see the pictures, the difference between classical and ordinary paintings

lies in the thoughts. The famous artists implant their ideas in the pictures,

which are admitted by the public, so the value of arts can be seen. Some famous

artists expressed their unique opinion and gives arts great meaning.

On the other hand, art is not only from works, but also from life. For

example, my mother cooks the delicious food. Everybody speaks highly of her. So

her food brings people great happiness, which makes the food an art for me.

Whats more, my friends is good at communicating. The way she talks can convince

other easily, so I call the way she communicates as an art.

In all, for me, art is around. It brings people a way to see the world or

makes our life wonderful.

When I was very small, I was so obsessed with the movie Harry Potter. I had watched all the series and I was so impressed by the role that acted by Emma Watson. Now so many years have passed, I keep paying attention to her. Emma is as smart as the role she plays. Though she keeps filming movies, she never gives up study. She got full A in her lesson and she could go to any top university, finally she went to Brown University. When she graduated, she was invited to give the speech He For Her. She called the men to be equal with the women. The speech was welcomed by the world and people gave great support. People call Emma the England rose, she is smart and elegant, which sets the good example for the England girls.

We need to follow all kinds of public rules, such as the manner rules and

the traffic regulation. If we break the rules, then all the work will be out of

order and everybody will suffer the loss. But few people just ignore the rules

and waste other people’s time and money.

Chinese high speed train has won many praise from foreign people. The

trains always start off as the timetable and reach the destination on time. High

speed train is popular by the public by its speed and punctuality, but what if

someone breaks the traffic rule? Recently, a video got popular on the Internet.

A woman was stuck in the door of high speed train and the staffs tried to stop

her but failed. She said her husband was on the way and she wanted the train to

start off later. How ridiculous it was. How could she let all the passengers to

wait for her. Everybody’s time is precious.

Though the woman apologized after the policemen’s education, what she did

discomforts the public. The way she acted wasted the public’s time. It is our

duty to follow rules and keep the public in order.
