Zeng Qiao is one of my friends. She is a beautiful, outgoing and good-tempered girl. She smiles frequently. I think it’s her smile that makes her beauty. We live in the same dormitory, so that we always stay together, no matter going to classroom or having dinners. At first, I don’t like her very much, because she is always talking. It seems that she can’t stop open her mouth. I am a little bit quiet and introverted, so I seldom talk to others. But gradually, I find that she can have influence on others by what she says. Zeng Qiao likes sharing interesting things with others. For example, she likes telling us her funny stories of her childhood or her former classmates. She always tells me that I should be more extroverted and learn to talk to others. Under the influence of her, I communicate with others more frequently and I find that it feels so great. I am so grateful that I can have such a good friend.

国庆节到了，学校里放了一个长假，可我大部分时间都呆在家里，好不容易妈妈回来了，和我去了一次浒浦外婆家，还去了江边捉螃蟹。 那天下午，我们一来到江边就可以感觉到一阵阵凉爽的秋风迎面扑来，这时江水已经涨潮，但水位很低，于是我们就勇敢地走下江堤。春天和秋天，潮水的水位很低，都是捉螃蟹的好季节。在春天螃蟹冬眠刚刚苏醒，所以比较瘦小，数量也不多，有时候就会空手而归，但是螃蟹活动能力差，爬得慢，很容易被捉住。在秋天就不同了，螃蟹比较肥，数量也很多，但是螃蟹活动能力强爬得快，不容易捉住。舅舅是捉螃蟹的高手，他先搬开了一块大石头，里面有许多螃蟹，就大叫起来： “哇噻!这么多大螃蟹，快来帮忙捉!”听到喊声，妈妈和舅妈就赶紧奔过去，看见这么多螃蟹，一时就没主意了，螃蟹趁这时候就赶紧爬走，舅舅急忙说：“快拿砖头揿住它们!”妈妈和舅妈拼命地揿，还是揿不住它们，让它们溜了。这一次可是有经验了，妈妈、舅妈和奶奶还有我和表弟一起先围在一块大石头的四周，妈妈、舅妈和奶奶三个人用石头揿，我和表弟拿芦苇杆戳，舅舅搬石头，“一，二，三!”舅舅用尽全身力气把大石头搬了起来，只见石头下面爬出许多大螃蟹，“好多大螃蟹呀!”我大叫起来，就和表弟七手八脚地戳了起来，妈妈和舅妈用砖头揿住了3只，奶奶用手抓住了2只，我和表弟什么也没抓着。舅妈也搬开了一块小石头，看见有一只大螃蟹，就用砖头揿住，用手去抓的时候，不小心被螃蟹的大钳子咬住了，痛的舅妈哇哇大叫起来，还拼命地甩手，可是越甩它咬得就越厉害，外婆说：“不要动，它会放手的!”可是舅妈还把螃蟹拉呀拉，就拉开了，差点就咬破了舅妈的皮，“真险!”我说着就急忙去看舅妈的手指，还好没事。我们今天真是大丰收，一共抓了一脸盆的螃蟹。 我们沿着江堤散步，见了石阶就上去坐。涨潮了，江水已经淹没了几层台阶，我脱去了鞋袜，坐在台阶上，脚伸进江水里，感觉无比的凉爽，但是却看见江水里飘浮着脏物，我想：人们这样糟蹋大自然，若干年后，这个世界将会变成什么样呢?望着这一望无际的长江水，我想对人们说：“请爱护这美丽的环境，爱护我们的母亲河吧!” 太阳快落山了，我们迎着秋天的夕阳，迈着欢快地步伐往家走去。

If I were a boy again, I would practice perseverance more often, and never give up a thing because it was or inconvenient. if we want light, we must conquer darkness. perseverance can sometimes equal genius in its results. “there are only two creatures,” says a proverb, “who can surmount the pyramids—the eagle and the snail.”

if i were a boy again, I would school myself into a habit of attention; i would let nothing come between me and the subject in hand. i would remember that a good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once.the habit of attention becomes part of our life, if we begin early enough. i often hear grown up people say “ i could not fix my attention on the sermon or book, although I wished to do so” , and the reason is, the habit was not formed in youth.

if I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion. it takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. it only needs early cultivation to become a power.

i do the normal routine, eat dinner, clean the house, write-the usual stuff. and then i lay down hoping to fall asleep quickly so my new day will hurry up and arrive. a new day with a brand new sun. but as i lay there and wait for the world to turn half way around, i think about her. and sometimes i smile, and sometimes that smile will turn into asnicker, and then often that snicker will turn into a burst of laughter.

1) 主语+ cannot emphasize the importance of … too much.(再怎么强调……的重要性也不为过。)例如：We cannot emphasize the importance of protecting our eyes too much.

2)There is no need for sb to do sth. for sth.(某人没有必要做……)，例如：There is no need for you to bring more food. 不需你拿来更多的食物了。

3)By +doing…，主语can …. (借着……，……能够……)，例如：By taking exercise, we can always stay healthy. 借着做运动，我们能够始终保持健康。

4) … enable + sb.+ to + do…. (……使……能够……)，例如：Listening to music enables us to feel relaxed. 听音乐使我们能够感觉轻松。

5) On no account can we + do…. (我们绝对不能……)，例如：On no account can we ignore the value of knowledge.我们绝对不能忽略知识的价值。

6) What will happen to sb.? (某人将会怎样?), 例如：What will happen to the orphan? 那个孤儿将会怎样?

7)For the past + 时间，主语 + 现在完成式…. (过去……年来，……一直……)例如：For the past two years，I have been busy preparing for the examination. 过去两年来，我一直忙着准备考试。

8)It pays to + do….(……是值得的。)例如：It pays to help others. 帮助别人是值得的。

9)主语+ be based on….(以……为基础)，例如：The progress of thee society is based on harmony.社会的进步是以和谐为基础的。

10)主语 + do one’s best to do….(尽全力去……)，例如：We should do our best to achieve our goal in life.我们应尽全力去达成我们的人生目标
