I have a wonderful dream in my heart. Its to speak English very well.

Since English is everything for me. English is my best friend. English is my

soul. English is my power. Without English， Im nothing at all. Nothing. Now， I

can think in English， speak in English， and write in English. Some people think

Im an Indian. Some people regard Im a Pakistan. And some people even consider

that Im an Egyptian. But if I could speak English as good as an American， my

future would be brilliant. So I work very hard.

The Spring Festival is my most favorite festival, because it’s time for

family gathering. And the Spring Festival is a new start of a year. It brings me

hope and courage. On Spring Festival, my parents usually take me back to my

hometown. My hometown is a small town. Many of my relatives move to the larger

cities, but we usually go home when the Spring Festival comes. During the

gathering, we share our lives with others and care about each other. Of course,

big meals are necessary. Families prepare for the big meals together. They all

cook their specialty dishes. Therefore, our meals are always delicious. We often

stay at home for three days and then we leave with others’ wishes. I like the

Spring Festival, because I like family gathering.

I am so looking forward to my college life. I have pictured it thousands of

times in my mind. The free lifestyle and lively parties are always appearing my

mind. The great expectation of campus life endows me a lot of passion to keep

study. After two years’ study, I would find my lifestyle.

The first thing for me is to learn more knowledge. Most students find a way

to release themselves and skip or sleep in the class. They think study is just

the task, so they give up improving themselves and take part in all kinds of

activities, which bring them great joy. The wrong conception about college stage

makes most students miss the best time to equip themselves with skills. I

realize my job and dare not to loose study.

The second thing for me to learn is to make friends by joining activities.

I am a shy girl, but inside my heart, I am so eager to make more friends, so I

choose to join many activities in the spared time. I learn dancing and playing

tennis. The lucky thing is that I know many nice people and we become good

friends, who make my college colorful.

Teacher is a great job in most students’ eyes. When they are asked what they want to be in the future, most will say they want to be a teacher and make a contribution to the society. Indeed, we have access to the teachers all the time and they have great influence on us. So being a teacher is a ideal job for most students, but for me, I want to be a librarian. I like reading books so much and once I have time, I will be immersed in these novels. Books broaden my vision, though I can’t travel to the places, I can still know about these famous sites from these books. Being a librarian can make me have a lot of time to read.

There is nothing more important in life than the sun .Without the sun all

living things on Earth would die. The sun is a star .In the sky there are

thousands of star like the sun .They are as large as the sun and as hot as the

sun .At night you can see many stars, but in day-time you can only see one star

---the sun.

The sun is much nearer to us than any other star.That is why it books like

the biggest and brightest of all the stars .The distance of the sun from the

Earth is as much as 150 million kilometres .Most of the stars are thousands of

light years away from the Earth .

Do you know what a light year is ?Nothing in the world travels faster than

light .It travels 300,000 kilometers a second .One light year is the distance

that light travels in one year .

With the development of economy, there are more and more vehicles on the

streets. Governments at all levels have to do something to solve the problem of

heavy traffic in the city.

I would like to share with you some ideas about this problem: firstly, the

government should build more roads. This action can decrease the degree of

street congestion and make it possible for cars to run faster than ever before.

But each coin has two sides. If a city builds too many roads, the streets will

occupy much land. We will have little space used for other purposes. So

secondly, more special bus lines for public transportation should be added. Thus

people can go conveniently everywhere they like; they will not ride bikes or

drive cars. In this way, the number of cars and bikes on the road will be

greatly cut down.

As far as I am concerned, if we want to solve this problem, we should set

up an idea of public transportation first and give a priority to this idea in

our traffic work.

There are many kinds of sports that I enjoy, such as swimming, basketball,travelling and so on. However, my favorite sport is running.In my mind,it is a good activities for people to keep healthy and relieve the pressure. After busy studying,i usually run on the playground,and i think thats the most wonderful time in a day.I love this sport since im 4,but at that time i only run for fun without any purpose.Its different now.Running has become a essential part in my life.I love running,and i ll keep running.

The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Chu Yuan. He was a good and respected man，but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperors court.

Unable to regain the respect of the emperor，in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river. Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan， the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.

Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan，their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.

Early in senior high school, we longed to be enrolled in a university. Now

the dream has come true. But how do we college students like our campus

life?

Certainly, some relish it, finding it colorful and rewarding. Besides

study, they spend considerable amount of time improving themselves in various

aspect. Yet others do not think much of their college life, thus do not benefit

as much. In their eyes, the university is just a bigger high school. The only

difference is that they have more time at their disposal without parents looking

over their shoulder.

As to me, college life is ideal if only I have abundant books to read, some

bosom friends to keep me company, a couple of conscientious professors to

instruct me.

I’m neither interested in sports nor good at it. But except swimming. I can

swim since I was a baby. My mother tells me that she let me swim in the water

with a life-buoy when I was 20 days old. And then I can swim gradually. When I

grow up, I like swimming very much. I swim all the year round. Swimming in

summer makes me feel comfortable to lower my temperature. While winter swimming

makes me feel excited and achievability. In general, swimming keeps me fit in

both physical and mental. Whenever I feel upset, I would go swimming and then I

would be full of energy and feel relax. Besides I believe it is due to swimming

that I’m so thin. Who wants to lose weight, join me. We can make more friends in

swimming. Oh, I couldn’t wait to swim now. But it is ten o’clock in the evening.

Mid-autumn Day is a Chinese festival。 It usually es in September or October 。On that day we usually eat a big dinner and mooncakes。 It is said "Hou Yi" missed his wife，so he made mooncakes。 It looks like the moon。

There are many kinds of mooncakes。 They are small round cakes with meat， nuts or something sweet inside 。 eating mooncakes has been our custom。 Families stay outside in the open air eat a big dinner and mooncakes。 The most important thing is looking at the moon， On that day， the moon kooks brighter and rounder。 We call this moon the full moon。

On that day， families get together， so we call this day getting together。 This is Mid-autumn Day。 I love it very much。 Because on that day I can eat mooncakes。 And my brother es back home。 He works outside all year。 Only that day and the Spring Festival。 He es back。 So that day I am especially happy。 On that day my family gets together。

Cellular phones have had a major impact on our lives and the way that we

perform every day tasks. Many of these changes are apparent, while others we may

not even be aware of.

Cell phones have brought a whole new meaning to the term multitasking.

Twenty years ago, it was not possible to talk to the office while you were at

the grocery store picking up some necessary items. You could never have had a

three-way business conference while you were fixing dinner or been able to deal

with a business client from home while caring for a sick child. Cell phones have

enabled us to do various tasks all at the same time.

Cell phones have also enabled families to keep in closer touch with each

other. Children can contact you if they have missed their ride form soccer

practice and your spouse can call while he is stuck in traffic to let you know

that he is going to be late for supper. Teenagers are able to call to ask

permission to go somewhere, and with GPS features that are now available on some

cell phones, you are able to check to make sure that they are where they are

suppose to be.

Many of these advantages we do not even notice. Have you ever arrived at

the grocery store and realized that you have forgotten your grocery list? The

first thing you would probably do is to call home and have one of your children

read the list off to you. In the same situation in past years, you may have

forgotten things or have had to drive all the way back home to get it. If your

car breaks down, you automatically call for help instead of having to walk to

find a pay phone. Cell phones have certainly made our lives much more

convenient.

Cell phones have also changed the way that people interact with each other.

When we call someone, we are actually calling the person and not a place. This

enables us to be more spontaneous when making plans as you rarely get a busy

signal and unlike a land line telephone, someone is always home. Cell phones

also enable us to call if we are going to be late for an appointment, although

this has led to cell phone users running late more often than those who do not

have cell phones. These users seem to have adopted the attitude that appointment

times are not concrete and use their cell phones to renegotiate their arrival

time.

One of the greatest disadvantages of the cellular phone is the fact that we

do not talk to strangers when traveling anymore. In the past, several people

waiting for a bus would engage in a conversation while they were waiting. People

who traveled the same routes every day might develop friendships along the way.

This situation does not happen anymore. Today when people are waiting for a bus,

they just pull out their cell phones and speak with old friends, missing out on

the opportunity to make new ones. In large cities, many people do not know their

neighbors, even though they may have lived in the same neighborhood for years.

As a society, we are beginning to lose the face-to-face contact that was such an

important part of our lives in the past.

Cell phones are a great asset in aiding in our every day lives. You should

remember, however, to hang up every once in a while and pay attention to the

world around you.

In the modern time, the growth of technology is increasingly developed.

More and more people don’t use their brains when there is no need to use other

instruments. Too much people use technology so that people are lazier and less

healthy than before. They rely on technology too much.

Some believe that modern technology shorten the distance of human. For

instance, people all use cellphone to call friends or family, or computer to

search information, or use QQ, MSN, twitter, blog etc. These modern instruments

shorten the distance between human.

However, others think that it’s just the reverse. Technology makes people

use less face-to-face communication. The contact in real life is less and less.

People do less interaction to each other. In the long term, people will get

depressed without enough communication.

As far as I’m concerned, modern technology provides convenience to people.

It makes people easily to get information. Only could we use it correctly, it

does much contribution to us.

It’s New Year again. In this holiday, sharing is the hottest activity.

People share their lives and discuss hot topic in social lives. Besides, there

are many traditions during theSpringHoliday. For example, in the north, people

will eat dumplings in the New Year’s Day while in the south people will make

Zongzi. Firecrackers and fireworks are essential during the New Year. Now,

people live a much better life than before, so people want to have a lively and

grandFestival. Some are likely to travel while some stay at home and take part

in various activities to enrich their holiday.

I have to say that music really has a strong attractiveness to me.

Naturally, everyone can choose suitable music to listen to. However, when you

find a kind of music which can bring happiness to you, you will be surprised and

become excited. Music has a magical energy, and it can help people gain good

mood in a great extent.

When you feel sad, you can have a try to listen to soothing music. At

first, soothing music will let you calm down. You will find that you will play

much attention to the music, and then your sadness can be decreased. You will

enter music ocean. You can experience a baptism of your heart. It does not

matter that when you listen to soothing music and you want to cry, you should

just follow yourself feeling to have a thorough release. Music will give you

enough encourage to overcome difficulties.

Music also can double your happiness and arouse the fighting. For instance,

when you solve some very difficult situations and gain success eventually, you

will have a great mood. At this time, exciting music will witness your success.

You will feel satisfied. Music lets you remember the glorious moment and cherish

your success. Music can give you unlimited motivation to achieve goals，because

you still want to listen to glorious music.

In addition, music includes a lot of useful knowledge. People can learn

precious knowledge from music. Because there is different music, we can find out

that different nations have different music thoughts to express. And from music,

we can listen to music culture. Music culture will give you a deeper

understanding to learn foreign culture, such as foreign language, foreign

important effect on promoting society development.

Music indeed has a magical power to help people and society develop. I

believe that music will still continue to bring us many surprises. As the

Think about it, the summer vacation is also almost, in retrospect, this

summer over the full and happy, busy and comfortable grace, really some

One way to get around in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai is to take a

taxi, but it’s too expensive. Many people like to go out by subway or light

rail. They are very fast and convenient. Now they are becoming more and more

popular. Buses are cheap, but they are very slow in rush hours.

If you want to see a city well, you can go out by bike. However, most

people prefer to get around in a downtown area on foot, because it’s good for

health.

Courage is very important. Everyone needs it. We will meet many

difficulties in our life and sometimes we will fail, but we can’t lose courage.

If we lose courage, we can’t do anything, because we don’t dare to do anything;

we are afraid of failure. This is my Chinese teacher me in the first class. I

agree with him. For example, we don’t have the courage to hands up to say our

answer, how can we know we are right or wrong. I will remember his word

I think there is no one would say “no” to travel. People love travel, for

it can make them relax and widen their vision. Some people like to travel with

friends, because they want to share the pleasure oftraveling, and they think

the journey will be much easier for they can take care of each other. While some

people like to travel alone, they can go anywhere in anytime. They don’t have to

care about what the partner’s idea. In my opinion, I’m much preferred to travel

with friends, but I always have an urge to travel alone.

Firstly, I was told that travel alone can help people to grow up quickly,

and that’s what I really need. If you travel alone, you have to do everything by

yourself in the journey, for instance, to buy a ticket, to book hotel, and ask

directions. That maybe just a small case for extrovert, but for introvert, like

me, it’s really a big challenge. I remember the first time I go to travel with

friends and my little brother, they did everything, and I just follow and had

fun. I even too shame to check into a hotel, and my little brother did it for

me. I was humiliated for that. So, travel alone could force introvert to do the

things that you don’t dare to do. It could help you to build an outgoing

personality. For extrovert, travel alone could enhance your ability to handle

emergence case.

Secondly, travel alone gives you peace of mind. Image that, you walking

alone in the beach, there are no sounds of human beings, just burst of sound

waves. You close your eyes, enjoy the moment, you will feel peace.

In short, travel alone could be loneliness and dangerous, especially for

girls, but it’s worth having a try for the beautiful scene in the journey, it

seems like all the things are just exist for you.

Many years ago, when the first computer came into being, many people

predicted the age of computer has come. Now only two decades passed, here comes

the new age of cellphone. Lets look at how people depend on the phone. They use

cellphone to work and to communicate with families and friends. With the

development of technology, online payment is popular and people just need a

cellphone to pay all the bills. How convenient it is. We are lucky to live in

the age of technology. But at the same time, if we dont control ourselves, we

will lose in the technology world, such as some children overuse cellphone and

learn nothing at all.
