记得有一次期中考试，可能因为我做题时不认真，那次的成绩不太理想。看着那些获奖的同学们高高兴兴的领奖，我心里又羡慕又后悔，后悔当初不认真。如果当时我认真一些，可能站在领奖台上的人就是我了。这时，我猛的想起了“乐观”这俩个字，我就想：其实也没什么，只是一次考试而已，下次努力就行了。于是，我开始发奋学习。终于，在下一次的期中考试中，我获得了第一名。虽然这只是简单的两个字——乐观，但是，有些人就没有选择乐观，因此没有成功。但是有的人选择了乐观，从而获得了成功。就像著名的作家海伦-凯勒一样，她虽然得了小儿麻痹症，下身完全不能动了，但是，她选择了乐观，最后走向了成功。

在悲观人眼里，本来可以成功的事也把它看成做不成功的。但是在乐观者眼里，本来看似不可成功的，他们也能做好。这就是乐观者与悲观者的最大不同。在卓越的人身上，我们不难发现乐观，在失败的人身上，我们很容易发现悲观。因此，我们一定要乐观，乐观会给你带来成功。

寒假里，我看了各种各样的书籍。从童话到科普图书，从小说到名著------。其中带给我最深印象的是介绍作者童年时代生活的《童年》、讲述一位美国黑人奴隶在惨无人道的奴隶制的压迫下艰难地生活最终死去的故事的《汤姆叔叔的小屋》、有借助老人与鲨鱼英勇搏斗来教育我们做任何事不能软弱的《老人与海》等等，回回精彩溢呈，章章扣人心弦，让人爱不释手，受益非浅。有它们相伴，当然不会寂寞。

读书读累了，我还会出门游玩。时间不容许我去祖国的名胜古迹游玩，但能够去野外的青山绿水、山涧小道玩玩，让我增长知识，开阔眼界，从整日的看书学习中跳出来，休闲、轻松一下，这不也很有意义吗?

轻松之余，当然不能忘了学习。除了完成老师布置的作业外，我还会写写作文，练练书法，算算奥数，全面锻炼自己的脑力。你可别说做作业是件头疼的事，其实，只要能投入在其中，你会发现——原来完成作业并不麻烦，甚至还有些有趣呢!

这就是我所度过的寒假，一个充实、有趣、具有意义的愉快假期!

My mother always complains about my bad behavior, like I don’t eat up the food and sometimes I don’t have responsibility on what I do. I decide to behave myself, I want to help my mother to relieve her pressure. It was raining when Tom was on his way home. He opened his umbrella and walked faster. Suddenly he saw an old woman staggering forward with a stick in her hand. She hadnt got an umbrella with her and was wet all over. Tom went up to her and tried to share his umbrella with her. But the old woman was tall and he was too short to hold it high enough. Then he saw the old womans stick and a good idea came to him. He tried hard to tie the stick to the handle of the umbrella. Then the umbrella was long enough for both of them. The old woman thanked him again and again. Then they went on walking home.

My Traveling in Beijing

A few years ago, I went to Beijing. I really had a great time there.

The first time I went to Beijing, I was very confused. Beijing was very

big. It was so big that I couldn’t find the right directions. And the traffic

was always so busy.

During my staying in Beijing, I visited so many places of interest, such as

the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, and so

on. I also went to Wangfujing shopping mall. But things were very expensive. So

I just did the window shopping.

What’s more, the most exciting thing for me was taking the underground.

Although it was crowded, I still felt excited. Because I could follow the steps

of the modern city.

It was the second day of our summer holiday. I felt good. I felt I am free. I had a lot of time to do things I like. My parents are in Zhongshan. So I live alone but I don’t feel lonely. But I didn’t do something special. I stayed at home and watched TV. Oh! I wrote an Englishdaily composition. It was my homework. Today, I have slept for 14 hours.I thought I was very tired. It was time for dinner. I must go! I am very hungry.
