In the past twenty years, China has faced three American presidents, but till coming to Yale today, I never realized that China really just faced one university. Although, through these three presidents, I understand that the quality of Yale graduates is not so even.

However, I really did not cause all of these! But that year what we remember more was the assassination of Mr. Martin Luther King. As for my own dream. I have always wanted to be a doctor. Not only can doctors save people’s lives but also they are doing a respectable job. Doctors can also help people to live a better life with their professional knowledge. I believe to help others is to help ourselves, and it surely can bring me happiness and pleasure.

To realize my dream, firstly, I must try to work hard from now on. And I must learn as much as possbile so that I can get into a good medical college, where I will prepare myself adequately for the job of a doctor. Senondly, I have to train myself to be more careful, that is the basic to do everything . Finally, believe myself. Because confidence is the key to success. I think only in this way can I accomplish my goal, my Chinese dream.

I am a Chinese. Ive always been making dreams from time to time. Those dreams made by each average Chinese like me are certainly Chinese dreams. Dreams vary from person to person, and also from time to time. But in a certain era, people share the similar dreams. Here I’d like to share my Chinese dreams with you.

When I was a child in 1970s, poverty kept hovering over my family, just as it did with other average families in the countryside. The misfit second-hand clothes, rain-leaking roof of old adobe house became part of my memory. However, the worse impression is that I was feeling hungry all the time. Sometimes hunger bit me so severely that I regarded dried sweet potato slices as delicious snack, the sharp crack of chewing which are still echoing in my dream. At that time, my dream was getting enough to fill my cooing empty belly.

In the early years of 1980s, as the reform and opening-up policy was implemented, the children dream came true. And then, another dream became clearer and clearer in my mind. I must try my best to escape out of my impoverished and backward hometown. I worked harder at my study than most of my classmates, and, after luckily succeeding in the national college entrance examination, my dream became reality again: after graduation, I became a citizen working in a city. As the first college graduate out of a remote village, my success set an example for my folks. They came to realize that schooling is a good way to change one’s fate. In the following years, there were less drop-outs and more college graduates in my village, of which I am proud even today.

Afterwards, I got accustomed to the life of citizens and I began to dream the same things as other peers: a comfortable home, my own car and a spacious apartment. Based on my toil, more than ten years passed, all of these dreams have been fulfilled. Of course, new dreams will occur to me again and again as time rolls on. Whatever, I believe most of my dreams will come true sooner or later only if my motherland keep advancing with current pace.

My Chinese dreams are also ones of other Chinese people. If every individual’s dreams come true, the dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will sure to come true. "The Chinese dream, after all, is the dream of the people,” as the newly-elected Chairman Xi Jinping said.

Today, more and more young people are crazy about western festivals. When western festivals come, they usually go to restaurants or shopping malls to have fun.

Why do the young enjoy western festivals so much? Since they worship everything new, and they can’t resist the temptation. As a Chinese, we have the obligation to protect our culture and custom. So I think we should celebrate our Chinese festivals by doing some traditional activities. As for western festivals, we needn’t to be too excited about them. We can just send our best wishes to our best friends during those festivals.

作为一名中国人，我们有责任保护自己的文化习俗。所以我认为应当在庆祝中国传统节日时候举办一些传统活动。而对于西方节日，我们不需要太过激动。在这些节日里我们应该只需简单的送上祝福就好。

The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is called the "Ten thousand Ii Great Wall" in Chinese. In fact, it s more than 6 000 kilometres long. It winds its way from west to east, across deserts, over mountains, through valleys till at last it reaches the sea. It is one of the wonders of the world.

The Great Wall has a history of over twenty centuries. The first part of it was built during the Spring and Autumn Period. During the Warring States Period, more walls were put up to defend the borders of the different kingdoms. It was during the Qin Dynasty that the kingdom of Qin united the dif ferent parts into one empire. To keep the enemy out of his empire, Emperor Qin Shi Huang had all the walls joined up. Thus, the Great Wall came into being.

The Great Wall is wide enough at the top for five horses or ten men to walk side by side. Along the wall are watchtowers, where soldiers used to keep watch. Fires were lit on the the towers as a warning when the enemy came.

It was very difficult to build such a wall in the ancient days without any modern machines. All the work was done by hand. Thousands of men died and were buried under the wall they built. The Great Wall was made not only of stone and earth, but of the flesh and blood of millions of men.

Today the Great Wall has become a place of interest not only to the Chinese but to people from all over the world. Many of them have come to know the famous Chinese saying: "He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man."

中国的长城

In recent years, Sinology, the study of Chinese traditional culture, literature, history, society etc, has become increasingly popular  For instance, it is reported that many primary and secondary schools have set up courses of sinology, in which students are taught classical works by Chinese ancient educators and philosophers, like Confucius- Another good illustration is in the program CCTV Lecture Room famous scholars, eg, Yu Dan, give lectures on Chinese ancient philosophies and literatures.

Sinology becomes prevalent due to the fact that it is of vital significance for both the individuals and the society. China is the biggest family with 56 ethnic groups. Among them, the Han

Chinese is the largest and the most highly developed group. The Han Chinese can

be found in many parts of China. They mainly live in the north plain region, the

middle and the lower reaches of Yangze River and Pearl River Deltas. The other

55 groups are the minority ethnic groups. They are distributed in the

mountainous areas of southwest and northwest of China.

Being too far away from big cities, the minority ethnic groups are poor in

economy and there people are not well-educated. They have very few

understandings of science and technology. So they must develop their

economy.

To help the people of the minority ethnic groups live better, the

government should take some effective measures. For one thing, more and more

knowledgeable undergraduates should be encouraged to those poor areas to help

the people there to get rid of their poverty. For another, the advanced science

and technology must be introduced into the minority ethnic groups to improve

their living conditions. More importantly, people of the minority ethnic groups

should be given equal opportunities to study and work. Only so will China be

但是，《舌尖上的中国》给人带来更多的是感动。看着冬笋挖出来，火腿吊起来，渔网里闪闪发亮，揭开蒸笼冒着白花花的蒸汽的馒头，拉面摔打在案板上的脆响，挖藕人吃着用自己双手挖出的藕的朴素的笑，都让人激动得想落泪，多可爱的中国！

那是一个令我记忆犹新的片段。从每年农历十一月初开始，老黄每隔三天，会拉着自己家里做的七百个馍馍，骑一个半小时的三轮车，到县城里去卖。一年中最冷的两个月，老黄可以卖出15000个黄馍馍，老黄卖的黄馍馍，就是用糜子面做成的馒头。是陕北人冬天最爱吃的一种主食。上碾，揉面，发酵……每一个过程都让人感到温暖。当老黄赶着驴磨糜子时，当清晨第一缕阳光照在老黄驮着700个黄馍馍的车子上时，当老黄拼命蹬着车子赶路时，当有人买老黄的黄馍馍时，当老黄自豪地说自家的黄馍馍最好吃时，当老黄卖黄馍馍吆喝时，那笑容，是我们这些生活在快节奏生活中，生活在繁华浮躁的城市中，久违的真诚的笑容！那从片段中流露出的人文关怀与脉脉温情，令人回味……

《舌尖上的中国》呈现的不仅仅是美食，还有用具体的人物故事串联起的中国各地美食生态，这其中，有制作的技巧，有艰辛的劳作，有相濡以沫的真情，有端上桌的美食，也有食物的演变过程，有方寸间的方桌厨房，也有广袤的祖国山河……《舌尖上的中国》存在的意义已经超越了美食纪录片，它告诉我们一个真实的、原味的中国，带着土地的气息和米面的甜香。

这是盐的味道，风的味道，山的味道，云的味道……这也是时间的味道，人情的味道，久违的味道~~这些味道，在漫长的时光中，与故土、乡亲、质朴、勤俭、坚韧等等情感与信念混合在一起，才下舌尖，又上心头！

《舌尖上的中国》以其独特的视觉，浓浓的生活气息和草根气息，是它在众多的美食节目中脱颖而出。不同以往的美食节目，《舌尖上的中国》讲述的是劳动者如何捕猎、采掘、加工和制作自然馈赠的食材。整个节目夹杂着劳动者为生活、为生存而流下的汗与泪。

带着好奇，我今晚观看了这个节目的第一集，《自然的馈赠》。让我印象最深刻的就是他们在享用自然馈赠的同时，仍然想着留着后续使用，卓玛挖掘松茸后，都会用土把菌种埋起来，阿亮挖笋时，会小心翼翼，不破坏竹子的根茎，石老头捕鱼总是会补五年以上的鱼，他们自制的网会人为的放生小鱼，从而确保年年有鱼。他们的淳朴和对自然的感恩是我们该学习的。物以稀为贵，他们并没有为昂贵的价格而心动，他们依然遵循着自然的规律。

这和身在经济发达的地区的我们形成了鲜明的对比，我们无限制的采掘自然资源，为了一己私利，乱砍滥伐。现在甚至很多人，在人们常用的药品，实物加入化学药品，严重危害人来健康的东西，前段时间的毒胶囊、红烧肉添加剂、橡胶猪耳朵、工业盐充当食用盐等等一系列的食品安全问题，让广大民众汗颜。这个社会到底怎么了?人们的良知何在?

这确实是一个很不错的美食节目，它应该得到广大民众的支持，节目中的劳动者的淳朴和勤劳村托了现在社会中那些为了私利而违背良心的人无耻，还有一个问题也是我们大家应该思考的，为什么这些违法的东西会频频出现?除了人们的道德需要提升以外，相关监管部门是否也要真正的履行自己的职责呢，把民众的健康放在心上?

对于“小吃货”的我来说，怎好错过，如此“饕餮盛宴”呢，为了更好地收看《舌尖上的中国2》，我还特意温故了一遍《舌尖上的中国1》。我记得有一集是介绍杭州的一道名菜——-西湖醋鱼，让我对西湖醋鱼有了深入的了解：西湖醋鱼作为杭州派别中的代表菜，要选用西湖的鲲鱼作原料，烹制前一般先要在鱼笼中饿养一两天，让鱼儿排泄肠内杂物，除去泥土味。厨师烹制时火候要求非常严格，三四分钟是烧得恰到好处的时间。烧好后，再浇上一层平滑油亮的糖醋，胸鳍竖起，鱼肉嫩美，带有蟹味，道鲜嫩酸甜。肉滋别具特色。仿佛透过屏幕，我已经闻到了它的酸中带甜，外焦里嫩，肉质鲜美，恨不能马上咬上一口尝尝，……看到这里，我都忍不住的流下口水来。作为一部“高，大，尚”的美食纪录片，搜罗到中国从南到北的万种美食，不仅仅是美食，还有感动的瞬间，总有触动泪点的瞬间。

舌尖上的中国，不仅是在介绍中国传统的美食，还是在介绍美食所承载的文化：不仅是美食的视觉盛宴，而且还是一次精神的盛宴。最有感触的是在《舌尖上的中国2》中：追逐花期的养蜂人：跋山涉水采集野生香菇的老汉：特别是一个叫白马占堆爬上高高的树上取蜂蜜的那一段，看着取到蜂蜜时品尝时的甜，更多让我感受的是苦涩，他们的辛苦：还有那些手工割麦的麦客们……舌尖上的中国，不仅牵挂着我们的味蕾，也在不经意间触动我们的泪腺，我原来还对《舌尖上的中国2》的广告词有所怀疑，不甚理解，为什么要准备好纸巾擦口水和泪水。直到看了以后，才有所明白……

感动和幸福其实是一体的，有过感动我们才会发现，幸福弥足可贵：简单而淳朴，真实也感动。

At the end of the Zhou Dynasty,the area we now know as China had fallen into a state of fragmentation and conflict.While the Zhou dynasty had ruled for several centuries,several other states,originally feudal domains,tried to carve out their own kingdoms.The state of Qin would eventually emerge the victor and unify all of China under one rule for the first time in history.

Qu Yuan served as minister to the Zhou Emperor.A wise and articulate man,he was loved by the common people.He did much to fight against the rampant corruption that plagued the court-- thereby earning the envy and fear of other officials.Therefore,when he urged the emperor to avoid conflict with the Qin Kingdom,the officials pressured the Emperor to have him removed from service.In exile,he traveled,taught and wrote for several years.Hearing that the Zhou had been defeated by the Qin,he fell into despair and threw himself into the Milou River.His last poem reads:

Many a heavy sigh I have in my despair,Grieving that I was born in such an unlucky time.I yoked a team of jade dragons to a phoenix chariot,And waited for the wind to come,to sour up on my journey As he was so loved by the people,fishermen rushed out in long boats,beating drums to scare the fish away,and throwing zong zi into the water to feed braver fish so that they would not eat Qu Yuans body.

It was pretty sunny last Monday , I , together with a few my alien friends and gusts cycled to your holley destination —— the Great Wall. To tell you the truth , we have been imagining visiting there for quite a long time , and eventually we fulfilled our dream .
