去年，妈妈从同事家提回来一只活泼可爱的松鼠。他长着一双晶莹剔透的小眼睛，圆溜溜的，穿着一褐色和黑色相搭配的光滑毛衣，一直又粗又长的尾巴，看起来就像一把小扫帚。别看他尖嘴猴腮的，却十分顽皮，没事就在笼子了蹦来蹦去，做自己的健身运动——攀爬。我对它简直是爱不释手。我和爸爸妈妈约定，等它长大了，长健壮了，有独立生活能力了就把它放回大自然的森林中。

每天我都要拿着食物去喂它。小松鼠非常通人性，一来二回，就和我熟悉了。只要我一去，它就知道马上可以吃到食物了，像箭一般地冲过来，不停地张望，等着我喂它。我把食物放进笼子，它已经在笼子里迫不及待了，狼吞虎咽地吃起来，还用爪子抱着吃，嘴里发出“唰唰唰”的声音，生怕别人把它的东西抢走了。我心里说道：你这贪吃的小松鼠，真拿你没办法。从此，每天放学后我们变成了形影不离的好朋友，它给我的生活增添了许多乐趣。

渐渐地，冬天不知不觉来临了，小松鼠要开始冬眠了。我怕她冷，便塞了一些棉布到笼子里，我想这样它就不怕冷了。我对动物的冬眠一知半解，以为松鼠冬眠就在吃东西，要等到第二年春天苏醒过来才吃。于是我把它放在客厅的角落里，就再也没有管它，想让它安静沉睡。直到有一天，妈妈问我：“你的小松鼠呢?”我才想起小松鼠还在客厅的角落里，我飞奔到笼子跟前，小心翼翼地把小松鼠抱出来，它小小的身体全都缩成一团，一动不动，浑身冰凉。天哪!可怜的小松鼠不只在什么时候已经死了。顿时，泪水一下子模糊了我的双眼，我不停地问妈妈：“小松鼠怎么会死呢?小松鼠怎么会死呢?”妈妈说：“小松鼠是被饿死的，它冬眠几天就会醒来，醒来了又要吃东西，吃完了又继续冬眠。”
