Im Alina Li and Im Ben Hedges, and today well be taking you through some of the most important traditions of Chinese new year and historical background. We will look at some of the legends behind Chinese new year and how to celebrate it. Here in the US and Chinese across the world.

The Chinese have specific way to celebrate their new year. If you walk down the street in Chinatown during Chinese New Year, you see a variety of ancient traditions such as red banners, firecrackers and lion dance performances, streets are filled with lively celebration.

However, legend has said that the new year has not always been a time of festivity. An Asian Chinese story told a chilly start to this festive holiday, it begins with an ancient Chinese beast called Nian.

Every New Year Nian would rise from swelling in the sea to ravage Chinese village in livestock and hurting people. The villages soon found out from a wise gray-haired old man that the only way to scare the beast away was to set off firecrackers and light lamps and to hang red banners on each door. As the story goes, this was the beginning of a tradition that would last thousands of years.

So this story leads to the creation of many of other traditions for celebrating Chinese New Year. lets take a look at some of these traditions.

爸爸买了好几条鞭炮（一条有十盒）给我们玩，我和弟弟还有阿杰哥哥，我们三个人一起去活动场玩鞭炮，我们先把鞭炮点燃，然后扔到地上，等待鞭炮爆炸。后来，我们又玩一种游戏：先把鞭炮点燃并塞到空的塑料瓶或是易拉罐里面，再把塑料瓶或是易拉罐倒扣在地上，然后马上走开，过了一会儿，只听“砰”的一声响起，塑料瓶或是易拉罐就被炸开了，拿起塑料瓶或是易拉罐对准别人一挤，从塑料瓶或是易拉罐里喷出来的烟会把别人给呛着。还有一种游戏：先把3到8个鞭炮头对头对好，然后另外在拿出了一个鞭炮并点燃，再那个点燃的鞭炮把另外几个鞭炮也点燃，随后立刻跑开，不一会儿，鞭炮就会按照点燃的顺序，挨个响起了，发出“噼里啪啦、噼里啪啦”的声音。

外婆家门口有一个石臼，里面积满了雨水。我和弟弟，阿杰哥哥还有阳阳等好多小朋友，把鞭炮往石臼里扔，但是最好要等火灭了再扔，因为那样成功的可能性大些。鞭炮扔到水里以后，如果冒白泡泡或者冒烟是会炸的，反之或是冒黄泡泡的，就是没用的。如果沉下去以后爆炸的，就是“闷雷”，可以炸鱼，如果浮在水面，就会溅起很大的水花，要及时躲避，已免被淋湿。

到目前为止，我已经知道了5种鞭炮，分别是“急性子”、“慢性子”、“三连炮”、“棉花炮”和“噼里啪啦响”。“急性子”点燃以后，不到5秒钟就会爆炸。“慢性子”点燃以后，要到慢的让人以为坏了才响。“三联炮”比一般的鞭炮长两倍，点燃以后，会连续响三响。“棉花炮”呈圆形，白白的，软软的，用力一扔就会爆炸。“噼里啪啦响”顾名思义，就是点燃后会噼里啪啦响。

我喜欢放鞭炮。当然最重要的还是要注意安全。

Ill always keep in mind that the Chinese new year is a great feast inherited from our ancestors, but if necessary, I would like to enjoy it by some ways personal.

Mother bought some dumplings and some meat, today give us ready to pack dumpling to eat in the evening. Mother also taught me making dumplings before, so I will make dumplings together with my mother.

In china,people regard Spring Festival as the most important thing.People studied and worked throughout the year.No matter how far and how busy, they must do their best to go back home.Thats a tradition and now becoming a habit. 过年了，我急急忙忙地吃完了年夜饭，和我的哥哥、弟弟到楼下找了一个比较安全的地方去放花炮，小学生春节作文：放鞭炮。

在我的记忆中，每年的春节都是差不多的，热闹、喜庆而祥和。

春节的前几天，是大人们最忙的时候，张罗这张罗那，但是，却是我们小孩子最憧憬的时候。爸爸妈妈买了许多好吃的，而卧却只能眼巴巴地看着，可望而不可即，于是，便急切地盼望着春节的到来。

除夕那一天晚上，当然也是我家最开心的时候，全家三口人一齐静静地看着春节联欢晚会，偶尔外面传来几声鞭炮声，也会觉得特别有趣。电视里搞笑的小品，优美的舞蹈常常逗得我们哈哈大笑，这笑声伴随着窗外的鞭炮声，显得气氛愈加欢乐。

终于要正式过年了，拜年就是我们一家首要的任务了。每到一家，我都要说上一句吉祥话，如：“新年快乐”、“恭喜发财”等等，而爸爸妈妈则送上一份拜年时必备的礼品，主人则会拿出一个红包递给我，这是我最高兴的事了，于是心里盘算着这钱该怎么用，买些零食?或是文具?买点玩的也不错，谁知一回到家就被“无情”的妈妈给收了去，我只好无奈地把这些个幻想的泡泡给吹灭了。

接下来的几天，我们就到处做客，丰盛的饭菜，炫丽的灯光，大人们喝酒时的祝福包围住了我，而我呢?则和哥哥一人拿来一大瓶饮料，东东快快地喝了个够，哪晓得一会儿我的肚子便疼的厉害，难受极了，后悔啊。

正月十五元宵节，我已经上学了，新学年的开始，将意味着春节的结束，但在这一天，我们家还是要吃元宵的，过年的气氛丝毫没有减弱，照旧的笑声，照旧的喜庆，照旧的开心。

就这样，快乐的春节过去了，每当细细回想是，总会不禁笑出声来……
