people travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. to me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.

on a summer vacation i travel to refresh myself and to see the countryside. when i use my feet and walk on a grass covered path or among the hills i feel detached from the noise of the city and closer to the nature. and when i travel on foot i get more freedom. i can plan my own schedule. i can choose my own route. i can stop where i like. and i can see things and people that i might miss if i travel on a train or on a bus.

when faster and more convenient ways for travel are becoming available, i still favor using my own feet. i get much pleasure from it.

I went to Hong Kong for the first time this summer holiday.It is a modern city with many skyscrapers and highly-developed transportation system.It is always said that Hong Kong is the shoppers paradise for lower prices of internationally-known cosmetics and clothes brands.During my stay in Hong KongI took a visit to the Marine Park and Disneyland as well.I really enjoyed myself there and it is an unforgettable experience for me.

In the morning, a grand flag-raising ceremony in Beijings Tiananmen Square will attract many people.

National Day is commemorated every year by special flag-raising ceremonies. Crowds gathere at Tiananmen Sqaure in Beijing early morning for this event. It was part of the National Day celebrations for the birthday of the Peoples Republic of China.

The national flag was first raised over Tiananmen Square in 1949, marking the birth of New China. And it has been repeated every day since then. The ceremony still attracts the interest of millions of people each year. Although the flag has meant different things to different people, it now rises over a more confident and prosperous country.

Last year, I traveled to Beijing by train. I was very fast. But, I like travel by train, because I like the feeling in the train. Besides, I can enjoy the scenery on the way. However, after the journey last week, I dont want to travel by train anymore, because it is too tired to have fun. It took me sixteen hours on the train. I was very tired and I had to spend a day to have a good rest. And it was boring on the train. Therefore, I think it should not travel by train if its far.

Now National Day is coming. I have made a plan for it .I am going to Beijing with my parents.Because there are many places of interest .First we want to visit the Great Wall ,which is considered one of the seven wonders in the world. Second we want to visit the summer palace ,where lived many emperors during the hot days. I think there is no one would say “no” to travel. People love travel, for it can make them relax and widen their vision. Some people like to travel with friends, because they want to share the pleasure of traveling, and they think the journey will be much easier for they can take care of each other. While some people like to travel alone, they can go anywhere in anytime. They don’t have to care about what the partner’s idea. In my opinion, I’m much preferred to travel with friends, but I always have an urge to travel alone.
