现代社会市场经济发达了，但请不要功利性太强了。市场经济带来了经济和社会的巨大进步，但是却使大家对眼前利益关注太多了。一开口便说：“学这个专业，工作后能赚多少钱?”“你说，学文学概论工作后能用上吗”?汉语言文学这个专业是一个内涵学科，它的价值是潜在的，不像理科那样十分显在。学习古典文学、美学对于提高个人的古典韵味、审美能力具有重大作用，这些东西也许不会对你的工作有直接的作用，但它对于我们生活品味的提高都是有用的。同学们，不要被眼前的功利所迷惑，把目光放得更远一些吧。

能力越来越重要了，但请不要轻视学习。现在大家都在喊：现代社会不看重学习，能力才是最重要。但是不见得学习就不重要啊，我要告诉大家：学习也是一种能力，是一种更大的能力。总说自己学习能力不足，其他能力超群，清华北大的学生都是一些高分低能的废物，想一想，这样的话中允吗?学习永远是学生的天职，请大家不要逃避，更不要瞧不起那些爱学习和学习好的学生。何以见得学习好了，能力就差了呢?

虽然我们不是最优秀的，但我们千万别失去信心。“自信人生二百年，会当击水三千里”。自大的人很可怕，但缺少自信会使人更可怕，畏首畏尾地，到头来什么也干不了。有些人一想到考研难就给自己戴上了考不过去的帽子，于是乎不考了，这样的人不是在考场上被别人打倒了，而是被自己吓倒了。不要一再强调我们的院校不好，因为我们的学生也能考入全国的名校像吉大、东师、黑大等。我的好多同学，在比我好的院校上大学，但他们四级也没过，考研也没考。不自信，干什么事都不会放得开，自己只能看着别人获得成功后的喜悦，这样会给自己带来极大的困惑，严重阻碍自己的发展。

大学生活很丰富，但不要一味地盲从。来到大学生活真的变了，除了高中的学习外，有很多活动、讲座、比赛，还有许多社会上的东西，在学校都可以看到。有些东西很新鲜，大家都想去尝试，不过我提醒大家，不要一味盲从，流行的东西不一定是好的。另外，考研和考公务员也一样，有些人根本没明确自己的目的就去考了，这样的行动有什么意义?这样还会有强大的动力吗?

不要把鸡蛋放在同一个篮子里，但也不要把鸡蛋放在一百个篮子里。我们通常强调不要把鸡蛋放在同一个篮子里，这是在说不要把自己的路走死，要留有余地，减少风险。我要强调的是不要把鸡蛋放在一百个篮子里，有些同学到大四了，平时课程不想放松，还想拿奖学金，还想考公务员，四级没过，还在准备四级，觉得考研不错，又在准备考研，自己考研又没有绝对把握，因此还在参加招聘会，找工作。结果，那个都没捞着，为什么呢?太贪了!

我们有很多事做不到，但是没有任何借口。没有任何借口，是美国西点军校的校规。它体现的是一种负责、敬业的精神，一种服从、诚实的态度，一种完美的执行力。我们需要的正是具备这种精神的人;他们想尽办法去完成任务，而不是去寻找借口，哪怕看似合理的借口。在美国西点军校，有一个广为传诵的悠久传统，学院遇到军官文化时，只能有四种回答，“报告长官，是”“报告长官，不是”“报告长官，不知道”“报告长官，没有任何借口”。除此之外，不能多说一个字。

大学老师不像高中老师那样整天围着你转，但一定要和老师处理好关系。我说的意思不是让大家走关系，而是要和老师建立良好的师生关系、朋友关系，这样对我们的发展大有裨益。老师可能激起你在某方面继续提高的欲望，老师会给你的学习奋斗更多的信心，老师对你目标的确立会有很大影响，甚至在诸多方面会有更大帮助。我在文学院以及学校就与老师有深厚的师生关系，在我的大学生活中，从生活到学习以及思想观念等方方面面对我都产生了重大影响，在此我衷心地感谢他们。

我们平常的学习中，有很多是需要记忆的，但更重要的是培养一种专业思维能力。一个没有专业思维的人，在专业方面能有发展吗?“行家伸伸手，便知有没有”，这话一点没错。有些同学说我想考研，我说你考什么专业啊?他说我想考古代汉语。可见我们的同学，对考研只是一种口号，考研二级学科中有古代汉语吗?俗话说，人三句不离本行。我在寝室中讨论问题的时候，经常用文学理论、美学来论述，因为我比较喜欢文艺学，而且接触的也多。我想这是专业思维的最佳解释了，在谈到相关专业问题时，是不是很上路，这就体现出了有没有专业思维，试想光背一大堆概念条例能管用吗?靠记忆，我们不如拿台计算机过来，一台电脑得存多少东西啊?

学习是学生的天职，但培养其他能力也非常重要。学习很重要，但绝对不要走极端，只去学习什么也不管了，因为人是一个社会的人，你要及早地步入社会，掌握生存的能力。我在大学中一直担任学生干部，先后任学生会部长，副主席，兼任班级团支书，说实话，在工作期间我得到了很多很多，我想如果我没做学生干部我会失去很多的。在这些大大小小的活动中，我学会了与人交往的能力，学会了互助合作，学会了把握对方的心理，学会了宽容与忍让……

另外，我还想说：大家上大学，同样还需要认真，需要勤奋，需要付出，需要责任感，需要有明确的目标、周密的计划、高效的学习方法，需要有敢于拼搏的精神……

当我们年轻的时候，我们天真烂漫;当我们年轻的时候，我们好奇执着;当我们年轻的时候，我们精力旺盛;当我们年轻的时候，我们意气风发;当我们年轻的时候，我们满腔热情;当我们年轻的时候，我们敢想敢做;当我们年轻的时候，我们锲而不舍;当我们年轻的时候，我们一身轻闲!当我们年轻的时候，我们是初生的牛犊不怕虎，我们敢攀蜀道上青天!当我们年轻的时候，我们是破岩的种子不怕痛，我们敢顶岩石露笑颜!当我们年轻的时候，我们是逆流的鲤鱼不怕苦，我们敢跳龙门换龙颜!

年轻，就要敢想敢干，不应该畏首畏尾、摇摆不定、瞻前顾后，患得患失。生活中固然有这样或者那样的困难，但我们要做的不是被困难吓倒，而是要在困难面前不低头，敢于困难斗一斗。用道家的说法，就是在现实的面前要有一种超然的态度。通俗地说，面对现实中的种种困难，我们要有超越困难的勇气和精神，要敢于为自己的理想和目标而奋斗。用邓福舜邓院长的话说，年轻人要有一种“浪漫精神”。

这些是我四年的一些感受，很多人此时多了许多伤感，而我却想给大家留下一些思考的东西。马上要离开自己的母校，心中的恋恋不舍似乎难以言说，但是，我带着四年来胜利的果实定会创造美好的未来。这些的东西，我自认为还是比较有价值的，但是水平有限，不妥之处在所难免，希望大家批评指正。

为了提高文字效能，应尽量删去所有多余的字、句。在这方面，《EI》提出了两个原则：

2.4.1) Limit the abstract to new information(只谈新的信息)。

2.4.2) 尽量用短句(use short sentences)。

2.4.3) 描述作者的工作一般用过去时态(工作是在过去做的)，但在陈述由这些工作所得出的结论时，应该用现在时态。

2.4.4) 一般都应使用动词的主动语态，如：写成 A exceeds B 比写成 B is exceeded by A 更好。写完摘要后接下来就是英语毕业论文的导言段。

学生在指导教师的指导下分析和研究所采集的资料的基础上，撰写英语毕业论文提纲。毕业论文提纲应尽量做到全面缜密，理顺所要论述内容，避免以后反复修改。纲要可以使作者一目了然地看出他的论文是否前后一致。主题是纲要的关键，因为它简明地陈述了作者的目的。正式纲要(哈佛纲要)中，各级纲目的格式依次为：I，A，1，a，(1)，(a)。任何纲要如不严加遵守则毫无用处。在确定了英语毕业论文选题，撰写了英语毕业论文提纲后，学生应对毕业论文的质量标准有一定的了解。英语毕业论文质量标准:

1)选题恰当、与毕业生的知识水平与认识能力相当;

2)内容丰富、资料翔实、论证充分有力;

3)观点正确、逻辑性强、无违反国家大政方针的观点;

4)叙述清楚、层次清晰而丰富;

5 )语言表达正确，无拼写错误、语言错误控制在20-25%00(万分之二十到二十五);

6)用词、造句、谋篇、布局等方面无明显失误，修辞错误率控制在2%。

英语毕业论文内容要能反映社会和时代特征，具有理论价值或实践意义，有新颖性。毕业论文可以对某个理论问题的探讨，也可以是实践问题的解决。毕业论文不仅要反映学生的综合能力，而且要反映他们对相关问题的较为正确的论述，要有一定的独立见解。论文必须做到主题明确、论据清晰、内容具体而充实，切忌空谈。写翻译的英语毕业论文，除实例分析外，还要提供原文的译文，以便弄清译论的依据。如果英语毕业论文是实践性的，它必须提出一定的解决途径、方案。
