I attended Jacks birthday party tonight. After dinner, Jack gave cigarets to our boy students present.

At the important moment, I stop them and told them the bad effects of smoking: firstly Smoking is a waste of money and its greatly harmful to our health. And it can lead to fires easily. So we should not smoke at all.

But it seemed helpless and they wouldnt listen to me. Somebody even said that body and health belonged to themselves and its up to them to decide whether to smoke or not. 1、重视增加阅读量是提高英语写作的途径之一

目前，考生在进行大量阅读的同时，应注重所读材料的文章结构以及连接词的运用(ontheotherhand，however，furthermore)、作者的表达方式(词汇、习惯用语和典型句子的使用)、作者是如何进行叙述和议论的。

2、在教师的指导下，平时应勤写多练

练习写作应从基本功抓起。在中译英翻译训练过程中，加强积累适量的词汇、词组和增加各种类型句子的运用。把握好各种句型和词汇的搭配，并从各类题材和体裁着手，多阅读好的范文。然后模仿写作，作文写好之后，一般都要修改。

第一遍收笔后，先看一看结构，然后从字词上推敲，使文章“充实”起来。更重要的是经老师修改过的作文一定要仔细地看一至两遍，然后再认真地抄写一遍，收获将会很大。

Music is the important part of my life. The world needs music to amuse

peoples life. As they live in the fast pace, music can bring them the great joy

and relax. Since I was very small, I fell in love with music and every time when

I heard music, my body would move and feel relaxed. The function of music is

这时候你就可以发现，成功不一定是好事，失败就不一样了，很多人会一边失败一边成长。于是，“失败是成功之母”这句话应运而生。很流行，但不知道它的美。它只是用来填补失败的伤口。很难过吧？但是没办法。这是每个人成长都要经历的过程。哭，笑，这些本质的东西本来就是它的一部分，没必要掩盖，它们是成长的证明。

成长的路真的很长，但真的很黑吗？没有！不，那是一条承载你喜怒哀乐的光明大道。所以，成长没有捷径。一步步积累，一次次失败。

美国总统前比尔·克林顿，自中学时期就开始跑步锻炼，至今不懈，被人们誉为“跑步总统”。

在谈到自己的跑步生涯时，克林顿说：“我一般是每周有 5天安排跑步锻炼，每次跑5公里，在休息日跑的距离还要更长一些。”在担任阿肯色州州长期间，克林顿有时还会出现在当地长跑比赛参赛选手的行列中，其中在一次10公里跑步比赛中，克林顿的成绩是47分钟。

1992年，克林顿代表民主党竞选美国总统职位，紧张而繁忙，他被迫减少跑步锻炼的活动量，因此体重增加了近20磅。于是他又把每周的跑步锻炼量增加到36公里，不久就把体重减轻到正常水平。

1. 内容切题

内容切题是命题作文的基本要求，考生可从以下几个方面入手：

第一要认真审题。根据题目类别，弄清文体的要求，并判明文章的种类(议论文、说明文、记叙文)，同时确定文章要阐明的主题或要表达的中心思想，若题目已经提供了提纲，还要注意弄清各提纲要点之间的逻辑关系。考生在拿到作文题后，切勿惟恐时间不够，提笔就写。一旦跑题，发现了再改就来不及了，常言道：“磨刀不误砍柴工”。

第二要注意设计安排段落。根据文章的中心思想，确定各个段落的主题内容和主题句。如果是议论文，一般要从论点的正反两个方面来考虑，首先是某观点的合理成分或某物的长处，然后是该观点的不合理成分或该物的短处，最后阐明自己的观点。如果题目提供了提纲，只要把提纲扩展成主题句即可。

第三要避免将记忆里较熟悉的句子生拉硬扯地搬进作文，使作文结构松散，意思不明确，甚至会偏离主题。

2. 表达清楚，文字连贯

文章要做到表达清楚，文字连贯，文章各段落就必须根据提纲所确立的不同主题来展开，而且各段落的主题句要将段落的各个部分凝聚在一起，流利地表达段落大意，使段落中各部分以及段落之间的联系一目了然。

3. 句式有变化

有些考生对写作没信心，不敢大胆地使用所掌握的语言基础知识，包括英语句法知识，结果整篇文章都是以主、谓、宾句式为主的简单句子，文章显得刻板无生气。实际上，

Almost everyone wants to live a long life, but longevity is not for all

people. It is reported that most long life people are in villages, far away from

big cities. In village, life is closer to nature. The sky there is clear and

pretty; the air is fresh; the water is clean; and the food they eat are natural,

without any chemicals. Besides, those villages are abundant in green trees,

beautiful flowers, fresh fruit, and wild animals, which can evoke peoples

passions for life. Moreover, the living pace in those villages is rather slow.

People suffer less stress than cities’. Thus, they have more freedom to enjoy

what they like. No wonder that most villagers are strong and healthy. If I

become old someday, I would like to move to village to enjoy a more comfortable

and pleasant life.
