Saving Water

The world is not only hungry,but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earths surface is covered with water. 一切从出行开始，我出门尽量少坐出租车，距离短的就步行，距离长的就坐公交车。我发现，一段时间后，我既节省了路费，又锻炼了身体，真可谓两全其美。

接着，就要从节水做起了。我尽量用洗衣水来清洁马桶、拖地……每次喝水，我会记着要喝多少就接多少水，绝不多接，节约饮用水资源。慢慢的，我发现，地拖得越来越干净，连我都能照的出来了。

最后，就是节电了。一到晚上，我们家就灯火通明，每个房间的灯都开着，有时，电视机前没有人，电视依旧开着，浪费了不少电。我告诉爸爸妈妈，离开房间后要随手关灯。不看电视时，记得将电视关闭，并且少用电脑。在白天，能不开灯，就不要开灯。我们一家人都那么做，我相信，我们家的电费一定会少不少的。两个月后，妈妈再去交电费时，发现少了好几度电呢!

上学、放学和外出活动，我们几乎天天要在道路上行走。走路要保证安全，这里面的学问可多着呢!有不少行人，因为没有掌握好安全横过道路的要领，结果丧身于汽车轮子底下，九死一生。

横过道路时，要选择有人行横道的地方。这是行人享有“先行权”的安全地带。在这个地带，机动车的行驶速度一般都要减慢，驾驶员也比较注意行人的动态。在没划有人行横道的地方横过道路，要特别注意避让来往的车辆。避让车辆最简单的方法是：先看左边是否有车来，没有来车才走入车行道;再看右边是否有来车，没有来车时就可以安全横过道路了。
