It was his daughter Lucie who took care of him and helped him return to normal. However， that beautiful image couldnt last long， the darkness came soon. The master of this happy family， Uncle Tom was arranged into a difficult situation. As Shelby， the not cruel master， he has incurred serious debts- prompting him sell some slaves to avoid financial ruin， so Uncle Tom， Shelbys loyal servant since childhood was sold to Mr. Haley， the slave trader. Uncle Tom remained loyal to his master， despite his betrayal and the risk of death at the cruel hands of a new master. The slaves at the plantation were very mournful， but Tom remained placid and tried to read his Bible for fort. On the steamboat to New Orleans， where Tom was to be sold， Tom befriended an angelic little girl， “Little Eva” St. Clare. Uncle Tom saved the five-year-old beauty from drowning， and she convinced her father to buy Tom for her own family. In her family， Tom enjoye.

As we all can see that Uncle Toms Cabin was an anti-slavery novel and it was even considered as one factor that caused the Civil War. In the novel， the slaves were sold from one place to another frequently， and their fate was tragic， with no exception- just like Uncle Tom， no matter he was under the control of kind masters or evil masters， he cant escape the misfortune of being sold from one master to another. We cant see any human right of them， so terrible.

As someone said， with more people realizing the inhumanity of slavery in the 19th century， slavery became one of the most important issues and it became more violent year by year in American society. However， slavery was not abolished irrevocably until ratification of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865， following the Civil War. After the passage of Fugitive Slave Act of 1850， Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote this novel Uncle Toms Cabin which publicized the evil of slavery to a wide audience.

Now we are in the 21st century， we may never e across such kind of thing. However， this book can always remind of us that there ever has existed this evil and we cant let it happen again. And “equality” 、“human right ” cant just be a slogan， we should make it e true really and always.

Recently I have read a famous Chinese classical novel-The romance of the Three Kingdoms and I felt benefit a lot. Let me tell you about my feelings.

The romance of the Three Kingdoms is one of the four great Chinese master pieces. It was written by Luo Guanzhong, who was born in 1330. It describes nearly 200 characters and tells the story from the late Eastern Han dynasty to the unified of Jin dynasty.

It reflected the main history of the Three Kingdoms, from the rebellion of the Yellow Turbans to the replacement of the division of the country into Three Kingdoms (Wei, Shu and Wu) by the Jin Dynasty. In these periods, it showed a lot of heroic deeds, and what the heroes did had made a brilliant history. In this novel, the hero I admire mostly is Guan Yu, the general of Shu.

Despite Guan Yu was taken good care of in the Cao Cao’s camp, but his heart was still with the Liu Bei’s camp. He had never given up looking for his master. As soon as he got the news of Liu Bei, Guan Yu had forced five passes and slew six captains, finally he found his master. His behavior showed not only his loyalty to his master but also his bravery.

Admittedly, Guan Yus death is also a lamentable. Because of his complacency, he looked down on the army of Wu, lost Jingzhou (an important City), finally, he flopped, and was killed by his personal enemy.

从我开始读这本书的那一刻起，我就对小说开头的一句话印象深刻：“帝国，长期分裂，必须团结;长期团结，必须分裂。”。它反映了三个王国的主要历史，从黄巾起义到国家部门更换成三个王国(魏、舒、吴)由晋。在这些时期，它表现了许多英雄事迹，英雄们做了辉煌的历史。在这部小说中，我最敬佩的英雄是舒将军关羽。

一个身材高大，身高九米，长着一二英尺长胡须的男人从他那红润红润的脸颊上流出。他有着闪亮的嘴唇，眼睛像深红色的凤凰一样深深地向后扫着，眉毛像刚开花的蚕。他的身材很高，他的举止令人敬畏.“这是关羽的样子。他之所以被称为英雄不仅是因为他英俊的外表，而是因为他珍贵的品格。

他是忠诚、智慧和勇敢的化身。有一次，当关羽和曹操(魏的主人)发生战斗时，他失去了与刘备(舒的主人)的联系，最后他不得不投降，因为刘备的家人和他在一起。曹操欣赏关羽的才华，他为关羽提供了一座华丽的宫殿和很多钱。尽管关羽在曹操的营地里得到了很好的照顾，但他的心仍然在刘备的营地里。他从未放弃寻找他的主人。关羽一听到刘备的消息，就强行传了五关，打死了六个上尉，最后他找到了他的主人。他的行为不仅表现出他对主人的忠诚，而且表现了他的勇敢。

诚然，关羽的死也是悲惨的。因为他的自满，他看不起吴的军队，失去了荆州(一个重要的城市)，最后，他失败了，并被他的仇人杀死。

他不顾个人好恶，不顾后果，导致吴与舒的同盟破裂，整个局面发生了重大变化。

关羽的教训告诉我们：无论你多么有天赋，你最好保持谦虚和谦虚。

For You, a Thousand Times over

I am convinced that few books are as good as this one. To be honest, I hadn’t maintained that this book would appeal me before I read it. However, I was absorbed in the book from the first chapter to the last one. Why this book has appealed to me that much? I asked myself. This book is not my type of reading for only romantic books could draw my attention successfully. Then I came into a conclusion that it is the friendship and familyship fascinated me.

To the world you are one person, but to the person who loves you, you are the world. Amir was Hassan’s world. Amir’s name had been the first word Hassan spoke. Hassan threatened brutal Assef for the sake of Amir. Hassan never failed to run the kite to please Amir. Hassan sacrificed himself for Amir’s house. These are more than a friend would do. Only those who loves you so much could challenge himself to do what Hassan did to Amir.To Hassan, Amir was not only a mere friend but a brother. He loved Amir more than anything else. Even after Amir betrayed him, he still told his son proudly“Agan Amir is my best friend”.Maybe for Hassan “for you, a thousand times over” has another meaning, which is not just kite running for Amir but he will do anything for Amir.

If Hassan could be described as an angel, then Amir was just a person. I did hate Amir for he watched Hassan be raped and did nothing, for he made Hassan leave his born-place, for he aimed Hassan with fruit(even though he actually tried to make himself get punished). Amir didn’t deserve what Hassan did to him. I thought his meanness caused Hassan’s tragedy. But after I finished the book, I realized it is not Hassan’s tragedy, it is Amir’s. For what he had done to Hassan, he had led a live with regret and suffered endless sleepless nights. His going back to Afghanistan is not only a journey physically but a journey to atonement. Hassan’s son, his nephew saved, Amir’s sin was finally washed. Like the life of circle, Amir ran kite for his miserable nephew.As Hassan did to him, he said “for you , a thousand times over” to Sohrab.Though the book doesn’t give us an accurate ending whether Sohrab came into life again. I am sure love can cure everything. Only when Sohrab lives a happy life as Hassan hoped can Amir’s sin washed up.

The friendship between Hassan and Amir moved me. I believe All the people who read it is going to be touched just as I am. This book does make me think the good and the bad ,what’s wrong and what’s right, the cruelty of war . Few books can exert an influence on people nowadays, this book sure does.

I knew Mark Twain when i was a middle school student. In my memory, there is an article in my English textbook that written by him. At that time, I pay no attention to Mark Twain. Is there real free-lunch in the world? Maybe there is! And such kind of “free lunch” strikes the poor and honest young man Henry Adams who has surprisingly got a one-million bank note from the brothers (Roderick & Oliver)。 As a matter of fact, the brothers had made a bet, if a poor, honest and clever people who come knocking on the door received the one million pounds, what will be happening to his life? The elder brother think that he would starve to death because he could not prove that the money belongs to him, will be arousing others’ suspicion, and even the banks do not let him deposit the money. On the contrary, the younger brother believes that he would live in a very good life. So the brothers lend the one million pounds to Henry Adams, and spent 30 days abroad.

From then on, Henry Adams becomes a bright focus of the money-priority society. Later, the lucky young man experiences two sharply different treatments in the tailor shop. In the ball, people from every social class try every chance to show their friendship and flattery to the new millionaire. Adams never has the chance to spend a penny because no one can change the million and he is soon living in a luxurious hotel suite, wearing expensive suits. No one asks him to pay bill, these are forwarded for later payment. He even gets the chance to go to the Party that held by Duke. Fortunately, Henry meets Jane Griffiths and fall in love with this beautiful woman. He also comes across his good friend. The man gives him some advice to earn money. 30 days has passed, Henry Adams asks his girlfriend company him to meet the brothers. Out of his expectation, his girlfriend is the daughter of one of the brothers. And finally he got a very good job from the brother. And he lived a very happy life.

Mark Twains short story of "one million pounds note" is a very good work. The article satires the thoughts of "money is everything," "money is omnipotent," and expose the ugly face of capitalist society. As we all know, the root of the story was the bet of the brothers. What is the bet actually? Where does the attraction of the bank note lie in?

As far as i am concerned, the One Million Pounds Note takes an interesting, satirical look at the hypocrisy stemming from class distinction in England. England is a country where class and wealth are given extreme significance, especially among the rich. The novel shows the hypocrisy that existed among these people, how the rich are quick to change face when they find out that youre a man of wealth and how within the next moment they revert back to their condescending selves when all wealth is lost. The story was based on the main theme by emphasizing on the hypocrisy of the upper class society but at the same time it also creates a balance that prevents the novel from being a mockery of the British society. The love story appears at the right time and there is plenty of comedy to keep one entertained. The ending is a little predictable but the director does an overall good job by rounding it up and presenting his points.

In my heart, Herry was so luckily, not everyone can get the chance to use the million. I am so envious of the "lucky" of the heroine, but at the same time I would like to think that the reason why people carry favor with him is just that they attract too much important to money, isn’t it? Money worship is shameful and should not be reaping more! Money is not omnipotent, and in the world, there are many things that more important than money .
