我非常喜欢看《青铜葵花》这本书，这本书主要写了一个哑巴男孩青铜和一个女孩葵花的故事。

青铜是大麦地人，葵花是城里人，因失去妈妈,爸爸便着葵花来到大麦地生活，不幸的是，老天爷闯了祸，让他爸爸淹死了。葵花成了孤儿，可又被最穷的一家——青铜一家给收养了，青铜非常喜欢他的妹妹葵花。

天气越来越热，游泳，是大家喜爱的体育锻炼项目之一。然而，不做好准备、缺少安全防范意识，遇到意外时慌张不能沉着自救，极易发生溺水伤亡事故。

一、在此，我希望大家注意游泳安全，做到以下几点：

1、不要独自一人外出游泳，也不要到不知水情或比较危险且宜发生溺水伤亡事故的地方去游泳，更不要私自到江、河、湖、水库等地游泳。

选择好的游泳场所，对场所的环境要了解清楚。若有危险警告，则不能在此游泳。

2、要清楚自己的身体健康状况，平时四肢就容易抽筋者不宜参加游泳或不要到深水区游泳。

3、游泳时切勿太饿、太饱。

饭后一小时才能下水，以免抽筋。

4、要做好下水前的准备，先活动活动身体，如水温太低应先在浅水处用水淋洗身体，待适应水温后再下水游泳;

镶有假牙的同学，应将假牙取下，以防呛水时假牙落入食管或气管。

5、对自己的水性要有自知之明，下水后不能逞能，不要贸然跳水和潜泳，更不能互相打闹，以免喝水和溺水。

不要在急流和漩涡处游泳，更不要酒后游泳。

6、在游泳中如果突然觉得身体不舒服，如眩晕、恶心、心慌、气短等，要立即上岸休息或呼救。

7、跳水前一定要确保此处水深至少有3米，并且水下没有杂草、岩石或其他障碍物。

以脚先入水较为安全。

二、万一不幸遇上了溺水事件，溺水者切莫慌张，应保持镇静，积极自救。

1、对于手脚抽筋者，若是手指抽筋，则可将手握拳，然后用力张开，迅速反复多做几次，直到抽筋消除为止;

2、若是小腿或脚趾抽筋，先吸一口气仰浮水上，用抽筋肢体对侧的手握住抽筋肢体的脚趾，并用力向身体方向拉，同时用同侧的手掌压在抽筋肢体的膝盖上，帮助抽筋腿伸直;

3、要是大腿抽筋的话，可同样采用拉长抽筋肌肉的办法解决。

一年之中中国有很多传统节日。我最喜欢的是中秋节。那意味着收获，因为它是在收获的季节里面庆祝的。那也是让农民们感激收获的时候。 此外，它也是团圆的日子。有人把它称为团圆节。在远方工作或学习的人都会回来与家人团聚。他们会在那个时候一起吃一顿丰盛的晚餐和月饼。我讨厌离别，喜欢团圆。所以我最喜欢的节日是中秋节。

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Double FifthFestival, is celebrated

on May 5th on lunarcalendar.It is a folk festival widely spread with ahistory of

over 2,000 years, and is one of the mostimportant Chinese festivals as well.

There are variouscelebrating activities on that day, among which the customs of

eating rice dumplings anddragon boat racing are quite important.There are many

legends on the origin of the DragonBoat Festival.Some people think it is to

commemorate the poet Qu Yuan, while others say it isto be in honour of Wu Zi_u,

a famous general during the Warring States period. However, thelegend of Qu Yuan

spreads most widely. People appreciate highly the noble sentiment andprominent

talent of this patriotic poet and are very sympathetic with the ending that

hecommitted suicide by drowning himself in a river.

端午节(the Dragon Boat Festival)，又称重五节，于每年农历五月初五庆祝。

这是广泛流传2000多年的民间节日，也是中国最重要的节日之一。端午节当天举行各种庆祝活动，吃粽子和赛龙舟(dragon boat

racing)是其中的重要习俗。关于端午节的起源，有很多传说。一部分人认为端午节是为了纪念诗人屈原，另一部分人则认为是为了纪念战国时期的著名将领伍子胥。然而，屈原的传说流传最广。人们非常欣赏这位爱国诗人的高尚情操和出众才华，更对他投江自尽的结局深表同情。

昨天晚上，我十一点才去睡觉，因为我阅读《小白的选择》这本书了，因为很好看，所以看着看着就入了迷，一直到读完这本书才发现已经很晚了。

但是到了第二天早上，我又不到五点半就又起床了。接着，我又把爸爸，妈妈，姐姐都叫来起来。你知道为什么我能起的这么早吗?因为我和爸爸昨晚约定今天早上去大堤上跑步呢!

我们穿好运动服和运动鞋，洗洗脸就出发了。刚上大堤不久，就看见了一群羊在吃草，期中有三只羊在打架，我还是第一次见到山羊打架，只见它们用头上的角来作为武器，相互攻击对方，甚至还看到有一只山羊往后退了几步然后猛往前冲，直接撞上另一只羊角上，还发出啪啪的声音哪!这在《喜羊羊与灰太狼》里是看不到的。

又往前跑，就看见有人在训练斗狗，只见那只狗身后拖着一个轮胎，轮胎上还放了很多砖头，它的主人还拿着一根棍子，打到狗身上，让它往前跑。那只狗走走停停，而且大口喘着粗气，喘气声十米外就能听见，这个狗狗太可怜了，人类为什么要这么残忍的对待小动物呢?我和爸爸妈妈姐姐赶快离开了，简直不忍心再看下去。

As everyone knows, stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is

no way to avoid it. As the pace of modern life continues to increase, we are

always feeling on the go from morning till night. And it is hard to slow down.

Therefore, stress goes hand in hand with the life in a competitive society.

Different people, however, think of stress quite differently. Some believe

that stress is not the bad thing it is often supposed to be. They are of the

opinion that a certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and give

purpose to life. Others argue that stress contributes to one’s mental decline

and hence endangers his health. According to them, relaxation, the opposite of

stress, is essential for a healthy mind and body.

Personally, I’m in favor of the former view. I think it is impossible to

avoid stress when one is entirely devoted to the career he pursues. In my

opinion, it is only when the stress gets out of control that it can lead to poor

performance and ill health.

Dear Sir,

I understand your well-respected college offers a number of places to overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application procedure.

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from academic work, I have been actively involved in extra-curricular activities. I am Chairman of the English Club and I have represented my school in many inter-school contests.

On the advice of my friends, I have decided to further my studies in England because I wish to widen my horizons and benefit from the scholarly heritage of your country.

I wish to continue to study the above-mentioned subjects at your college in the 2006/7 academic year before I sit the Advanced-level Examinations in England.

As regards my character, Mrs. Chen, my Principal, and Mr. Huang, my English master, have agreed to act as my references.

As I come from a family of fairly limited means, I would like to know if there is any financial assistance available for overseas students.

Birthday

My birthday is on Sunday. My parents are going to have a birthday party at home. I invite my friends to come to the party.

At the party. They give me many small presents. Such as cards， picture books， pens.

They sing Happy Birthday to me. My mother makes a big cake for me. I cut the cake into small pieces and give them out.

We sing and dance.We have a good time at the party.

这个暑假老师给我们布置了一个特殊的作业，选一项家务劳动并坚持做下去，这有什么难的?于是，回到家我就随意选择了一个任务——刷碗。

洗刷刷、洗刷刷……我把餐桌上的碗收拾的一干二净，就开始执行任务了，我嘴里哼着小曲，拿起清洁球刷起来，由于粗心，碗的反面忘刷了，我就又重新刷了一遍，虽然很累，但是我是不会放弃的。不一会儿所有的碗就被我全部刷光了，接着，把碗放到橱柜里，擦擦桌台，OK!任务完成!

就这样，早上、中午、晚上，每天我都在洗刷刷中度过，可是，渐渐地，我开始不耐烦了，天天都是这样，真没有意思啊，刷碗一点也不好玩。于是，我就开始学着逃懒了，不是把碗往池子里一放就不管了，就是看见碗在餐桌上也睁一只眼闭一只眼，收也不收。

妈妈帮我收拾了几天以后，就问我：“诺诺，你是不是不想刷碗了呀?”我不好意思的点了点。

“那你知道你们老师让你们坚持做一个家务的用意吗?”妈妈又接着问。

我说：“老师是要让我们体会妈妈做家务的辛苦。”

妈妈说：“这也是一个方面，另外，老师就是让你们通过劳动去体会怎样去坚持做一件事，而不是心血来潮想做就做，不想做了就半途而废。”

哦，原来是这样，这还真是：做一件家务容易，每天都坚持做一件家务难呀!通过这件事，我终于明白了：不管做家务也好，读书练字也好，还是做其他的事情，都要坚持不懈，这样才能干的更好!
