My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.

Lanzhouis situated in the temperate zone and enjoys a semi-arid climate (Kppen BSk) with hot summers and very cold and dry winters. Mean annual rainfall is 315 millimetres (12.4 in), almost all of which falls from May to October. The winters are so dry that snow is extremely rare.

In regard to air pollution Lanzhou has some of the worst air quality of all cities in China. 小枣长得特别快，两三个星期过后，小枣就长得像莲子那么大，这时，小枣由青绿色变成淡绿色。孩子们见了，就会嘴馋，路过树边，顺便摘几个放进嘴里，可是没有甜味，只觉得滑溜溜的。

一个月后，枣由浅绿色变成白色。这时有点甜味了，可是还不好吃。中秋节过后，那树上一串串的、沉甸甸的、全红的、半红半绿的，随便摘一个放进嘴里，都是蜜甜蜜甜的。
