Important to save water

Water is a kind of liquid. It has no taste or smell. It is transparent, too. Water is useful and is important to us. Why? For example, we use water to water the plants. We use water to wash our face or to have a bath. We drink water or we will die…Water is also very important for China. However, when he returned some years later, the colorful coral reefs were dead and grey because the factory near the sea poured waste water into the sea. Jacques Cousteau decided to tell people how important it was to save the environment under the sea. He started the“ Cousteau Society ” to help protect life in the sea. Now there are over 30000 members all over the world. Since water covers most of the earth, Cousteau knew that we should keep the sea clean. We should not litter the sea, and should clean up the dirty parts. As water is very important to our environment, he encouraged everyone to take part in protecting our lakes, rivers, sea and ocean.

There are still a few people who are not protecting the water now in the world. For example, some factories pour waste things into the rivers, lakes or into the sea near by. The water there has become very dirty and we can’t use them at all. Although there are seventy–five per sent of water in the world, we can only use fresh water, that there is only a little. So we should use little water when we need to use it. For example, I do not use too much water when I am washing my face or having a bath… It is important for us to keep the water clean. You may ask yourself, have I ever poured or thrown dirty things into the water? If your answer is “No”, that means you have already helped to protect the environment. It is our duty to protect the environment. You may ask yourself again, have I ever helped to clean up the water? If your answer is “Yes”, that means that you have already done something useful to improve the water. What is healthy diet? To the most people, healthy diet means more green foods, no junk foods. The meals of healthy diet should be cooked with fewer salt and oil. And the junk food is those low nutrition, high calorie, processed food with much salt or oil, such as the fries, fried chickens, salted eggs and so on. These foods will cause one get weight and increase the risk of many diseases. We should keep a healthy diet, abandon the junk food to keep ourselves healthy.

Social morality is an important part of our life that reflects the degree

of civilization of our country. Generally speaking, social morality contains

many aspects. For example, civility, which requires people behave in a becoming

The tomb sweeping day is one of the traditional festivals in China. On

April 5th, people start to visit their ancestors’ tombs. Generally speaking,

people will bring the home-made food, some fake money and paper-made mansion to

their ancestors. When they start to honour their ancestor, they will light up

some candles and incense, put some flowers around the tombs. The most important

thing is to put the home-made food in front of the tombs. The food, also known

as sacrifices, is usually made up with a chicken, a fish and some pork. It’s a

symbol of the offspring’s respect to the ancestors. People believe that the

forbears will share the food with them. The children dedicate the food and money

to their forbears in order to show their love and caring. The young offspring

will go down on their knees and pray for their ancestors. They can say their

wishes in front of the tombs and the ancestors will make their dreams come

true.

In some provinces of China, people use different activities to commemorate

this day, for instance, spring-outing, swinging, tree planting and making

special food. One special food is Ay Tsao rice balls. It looks like Tang-yuan,

but its colour is green. Mix the ay tsao juice with the rice powder, then make

it into small balls. The Ay Tsao rice ball is done. People believe that eating

ay tsao rice balls can get rid of the bad luck and everything will go smoothly.

Other activities such as spring outing, tree planting are the other ways to

commemorate the forbears. For one thing, it is a sign that people should look

into the future and embrace the hope; for another thing, we do hope our ancestor

rest in peace.

classroom I often sit there and became sad. I think I have worked hard for two

is so terrible , I have nothing to treat it. I often cry with the reason that

Each year, people burn or cut down 143,000 square kilometers (55,000 square

miles) of the forest. People who burn or cut down trees do it for different

reasons: farmers cut down trees in order to get more fertilize lands to grow

rice or vegetables, and use the woods as fuel. Timber companies cut down trees

and turn them into furniture or paper productions. As to goal miners, they

remove the forests to find out whether there are goal underground.

However, many of us fail to realize that forests are the lungs of the

earth. When we cut down trees, we also push ourselves in to a dangerous

situation. That is the global warming. When you come to think about it, there

are only few ways to solve these negative effects: stop cutting down trees

blindly; try to find some clear energy that can replace oil and coal. But these

solutions can be impractical to some degreed.

Why trees can be so important to the whole nature? First of all, trees are

the habitat of many animals. When we cut down trees, we not only destroy

animals’ habitats but also ourselves. We just gradually destroy natural links.

The result is that many spices of animals and plants are dying out. Secondly,

cutting down trees cause global warming, to some degree. Naturalists compare

forest to human’s lungs. The forests absorb the carbon dioxide and other gas

that cause global warming, and then give off the oxygen that good for the human

beings and other living creatures. It’s refreshed the air as well as reduced the

noise. If the air quality is bad, people may die from cancers, or the new

diseases for which they have no immunity. Forests also play an important role in

the prevention of natural disasters. Warmer temperatures cause water to expand

and also create more water by melting polar ice caps. That’s to say, the nations

which near the ocean may have been flooded by the water. But the forests can

prevent water loss and soil erosion, and cool off the global temperatures. It’s

the key to keep the balance of the nature.

Sometimes people only care about money making; they don’t care about the

price we pay for the pollution. When the disaster is around the corner, we may

be afraid and frustrated. The earth, on which our economies have always been

based, is suddenly threatening our existence. All we hope that is this

overpopulated, over industrialized planet can carry on for a longer time. And

maybe, it’s time for us to realize that we should protect the earth, stop

cutting down trees blindly and madly.
