These days Ive just finished the novel Uncle Toms Cabin that left a really deep impression on me and we can see.

It is a book written in 1852 in response to the passage of the Fugitive Slave Law， Uncle Toms Cabin has been considered as the most influential anti-slavery novel in that period and described by Stowe herself as a “series of sketches” describing the human cruelty of slavery， opens with a description of Arthur Shelbys Kentucky plantation during the antebellum period.

There are several impressive characters in this novel， George who is clever and brave;Harry， a beautiful and talented child who sings dances and mimes;Mrs. Shelby， a very religious woman;Sambo and Qimbo and so on. The major character Uncle Tom who was the most impressive in this novel was a devout Christian. He endured the miserable fate bravely and aroused the whites sympathy for slaves with his Christs sacrifice and the tolerance of returning good for evil. This novel focuses on the distinctive personalities of Uncle Tom deeply influenced by Christianity and the important role Uncle Toms Cabin playing on abolition; and the Significance of “Uncle Tom” to the harmonious worlds development， and the effect on modern people.

In the book， at the beginning， the author presents us a very beautiful image of a rather harmonious family who live a happy life. However， that beautiful image couldnt last long， the darkness came soon. The master of this happy family， Uncle Tom was arranged into a difficult situation. As Shelby， the not cruel master， he has incurred serious debts- prompting him sell some slaves to avoid financial ruin， so Uncle Tom， Shelbys loyal servant since childhood was sold to Mr. Haley， the slave trader. Uncle Tom remained loyal to his master， despite his betrayal and the risk of death at the cruel hands of a new master. The slaves at the plantation were very mournful， but Tom remained placid and tried to read his Bible for fort. On the steamboat to New Orleans， where Tom was to be sold， Tom befriended an angelic little girl， “Little Eva” St. Clare. Uncle Tom saved the five-year-old beauty from drowning， and she convinced her father to buy Tom for her own family. In her family， Tom enjoye.

As we all can see that Uncle Toms Cabin was an anti-slavery novel and it was even considered as one factor that caused the Civil War. In the novel， the slaves were sold from one place to another frequently， and their fate was tragic， with no exception- just like Uncle Tom， no matter he was under the control of kind masters or evil masters， he cant escape the misfortune of being sold from one master to another. We cant see any human right of them， so terrible.

As someone said， with more people realizing the inhumanity of slavery in the 19th century， slavery became one of the most important issues and it became more violent year by year in American society. However， slavery was not abolished irrevocably until ratification of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865， following the Civil War. After the passage of Fugitive Slave Act of 1850， Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote this novel Uncle Toms Cabin which publicized the evil of slavery to a wide audience.

The Kite Runner of Khaled Hosseinis deeply moving fiction debut is an illiterate Afghan boy with an uncanny instinct for predicting exactly where a downed kite will land. Growing up in the city of Kabul in the early 1970s, Hassan was narrator Amirs closest friend even though the loyal 11-year-old with "a face like a Chinese doll" was the son of Amirs fathers servant and a member of Afghanistans despised Hazara minority. The story took place in 1940. A man who is a banker called Andy Dufresne, was sent into the Shawshank prison, for he murderer his wife and her lover in bed. However, he was innocent as he said. And one of them called Red, who could get anything what he wanted. Andy bought a mallet from him and started his plan to escape. During this time, he did many things: expanding the library, caving stones, helping the corrupt warden to get money or bribe, etc. Then a young prisoner’s coming break his quiet life in jail. But the warden killed the young prisoner the only man that knew Andy was innocent. Then he knew the prison he could not stay any more. It took him 20 years to tunnel secretly and he successfully escaped from the prison. When he got free, Andy sent the evident which could prove the warden corruption, briber and murdering to the policy agency. Before that, Andy had told his best friend Red that his dream---Zihuatanejo, a warm place without memory. After escaping, Andy lived a free life in another identity and made the prison governor arrested. Several years later, Red was approved to leave. for the promise to Andy. Finally, in Zihuyatanejo, they met.

The cruel prison life terrified me and the friendship moved me. The story goes to a happy ending---redemption. This film impressed me a lot. A sentence was said in the film: ’Some birds arent meant to be caged, but most birds will choose to stand it.’

In this film, as we can see, the Shawshank Prison, which enjails lots of people. They have been in the prison form many years ,so they won’t go abroad. Because they won’t and also they can’t. They lived here for years without hope, and they lived just in the small prison, where nobody knows what is their dream and what’s their hope. As I remember, a old man Brooks was released after he had been in the jail for 50 years. But he found that the world became completely different from the world he imagined. For example, he seldom see cars before. He felt very strange and helpless to the outside world He can hardly adapt to the new developed world. He would rather stay in the prison. So unfortunately he chose to commit suicide.

However, on the contrary, Andy said a converse sentence:’ Some birds arent meant to be caged, thats all. Their feathers are just too bright…’ He long for the freedom and strive for it! What I remember very clearly is someone said that “These walls are kind of funny things like that. First, you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them. That is institutionalizing.” But Andy hadn’t been affected. He insisted on his faith of freedom. He dared to pursue his deserved freedom! That’s the first point I appreciate.

What’s more, another thing I think is friendship. Of course, Andy’s perseverance and endeavor is the main reason that he succeed in escaping. But it can’t be denying that friendship is also a important reason. Without the friends’ help in the prison, especially red’s, He can’t break the prison, too. Even in the jail which is the most evil place that Andy could make it a significance place. He had transformed a storage room smelling of turpentine into the best prison library in New England. Then the prisoners read the books and got knowledge from it. Andy also helped them to pass the high school equivalency. The glitters of him lighted others’ life. That helps him built many sincere friendships in the prison. He just too bright that didn’t belong to the prison .Then he escape and gained the freedom.

Furthermore, the patience, courage and strong willpower are the keys to escape. 20 years, not a short ordeal time, but he endured. He made his plan day by day, week by week and year by year. He never gives up. he took nearly twenty years to dip a tunnel with a little rock hammer which Red said it would take a man 600 years to tunnel under the wall with one of these to fight for his free .And he did it finally. Please imagine, crossing the tunnel he dup, he still should crawled through five hundred yards of shit-smelling foulness. That is the length of five football fields.

Then is the last but not least, I think. He has the bright brain ,the never fading persistent, and the most important thing----hope. Just as Andy said to Red: Hope is a good thing, may be the best of things. In this film, Andy show us that how good thing the hope is. Yes , hope is a good thing. Whatever it is, it can’t lock the hope. We all have dream. We all have hope. We all have it and please never give up, like Andy.

This film, Shawshank Redemption, teaches me a lot. It deserves to be one of the most overwhelming films in the Hollywood.

Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I dont think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on peoples honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.

That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. Therefore, I, a kind person, want to tell those vermin-to-be to learn from the kind Oliver and regain the nature of goodness.

One day when Darcy and Bingley’s two sisters disgusted with the vulgarity of Mrs. Bennet and her two youngest daughters, effectively separated Bingley and Jane. Meanwhile, Collins, a cousin of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, married charlotte, a friend of Elizabeth’s, for Elizabeth’s refuse to marry him. But One day Darcy send Elizabeth a letter, in which he justifies the separation of his friend Bingley and Jane and make it clear that Wickham is. These kinds of characters are lost in their world because of the seducement of the material world. They doubt their formal faith and gradually give up what they believed. But after they have experienced so much hardship， they realize that they cannot adapt to the life of the outer world so they regress to the former life with formal faith. They realize the importance of God and they begin to think seriously about the relationship between man and God. At last they find their right way of their life.

这是一个专属于年轻人的故事，叛逆、放荡、残酷的故事，来自少年对社会的认知。也许因为我自身的年龄、经历的事情，也许我没有主人公如此的愤世嫉俗，书中为了表现霍尔顿的不学无术每句都是满嘴脏话，令我有些遗憾。当然这只是我个人的看法。

不过虽然有这些粗俗词语，但霍尔顿拥有一颗敏感的心，也正是因为这颗心才让他如此不同，“出淤泥而不染”。霍尔顿厌恶学校、厌恶人群、各色各样的人，但本质上他是个很不错的人，只是“假模假式”的社会不得不令他心烦。他并不像那些伪君子一样，屈于种种利益、名誉，最终堕落虚伪着生活着。不论权利再大的人，也只是这个社会的傀儡罢了。

他想逃离这个一刻也不想待的地方，甚至想去乡下装聋哑人来摆脱世俗，可做“不食人间烟火”也只能想想而已。仅此而已。

霍尔顿最痛恨电影，做作的情节使他头疼，可在百无聊赖时他又不得不迈入电影院；他痛恨玩弄的感情，一种肮脏的爱情，可他又做了他痛恨的事情……诸如此类的事情太多太多。塞林格笔下的霍尔顿是悲剧的，他的悲剧比任何人都要痛苦。挣扎的太多，惶恐无助，逼迫做自己讨厌的事情，只是因为他看破红尘、看淡一切，想逃避。最后，也只好妥协。

霍尔顿的人物形象也是很讽刺的吧。

他的幻想是美好的，做一个麦田的守望者，守望着那些天真烂漫的孩子们，就像他的妹妹菲苾、弟弟艾里那样。在这个喧嚣污浊的世界，也仅仅有孩子拥有花儿般得心灵了。却也完不成这个愿望了吧。这个世界被腐蚀了太多太多。

有时候，比起主人公的“愤怒青年”我更喜欢那个可爱的菲苾。她虽是小孩子，但比她哥哥更理性。她懂得做事的轻重缓急，当然也打消了霍尔顿不切实际的想法。

你的身边，也总会有这种人吧。像主人公的桀骜不驯，菲苾的善解人意，伪君子的假惺惺，它会使我们引起共鸣。我想这也是《麦》畅销的最大原因吧。

看哪！那金黄的麦田，随风起伏，闪烁摇曳。如金灿灿的流苏，似一片黄澄澄的大海，更恍若一个永恒的微笑。

嘹亮的鸡鸣将我从沉沉的梦中唤醒。

蓦然回想起，儿时曾住在乡间的奶奶家。那时候，我总是喜欢睡在麦田里，让浓浓的麦香和清新的泥土芬芳伴我睡去，更喜欢醒在一阵欢乐而嘹亮的鸡鸣声中。在麦田里站起，望远处蓝蓝的天、苍翠的树以及星罗棋布点缀在麦田边的农居。那一刻，我觉得自己的渺小——我只是一个在蓝天之下，麦田之中的守望者，守着一个悠远绵长的梦。

奶奶对我说：“孩子，你长大了要做一个有出息的人”。

我却看着寂寞的稻草人，心里想，它愿为守护这一片麦田而努力，它的心，是多么的执着。

后来，我随着爸妈来到了城市。每每在笔尖触碰稿纸之际，我发现自己总有满满充盈的词汇，总会有意想不到的顿悟。仿佛总有一股浪漫的情怀溢满心头且久久不散。我还常常会在观摩一件静默的物体时顿生感动，我摸摸自己的胸口，感觉到一颗柔软的，炽热的又散发着麦香的心在沉稳地跳动。

也许，守望的道路是艰难的，就好像是明明知道目标就在前方的不远处，眼前却始终笼罩着一层薄雾，无论如何，我不会放弃，守望的目标则越来越清晰。

渐渐地，我开始把自己创作的小文向一些报刊投稿。虽然这其中经历过许多的艰辛与挫折，一次又一次的退稿，曾让我产生放弃的念头，一次又一次的失败，曾让我失去前进的动力。但是，我最终坚持了下来，孤独地前行着，我在心里默记着，我的哪些小文一一找到了它应有的归宿，我也渐渐地被人熟知——这个固执的、寂寥的，从不张扬的麦田里的守望者。

如今，我依然在守望着——心中的那一片金黄的麦田。

经过风尘仆仆的奔波，我回到了久违的乡间。终于扑进了这片麦田，尽情拥抱那不变的风，不变的阳光，不变的稻草人。

小麦们笑着，闹着，挤挤挨挨，靠近我。我嗅到她们的芳香一如往昔。我找到那个稻草人，他也还是熟悉的样子，我走上前，轻轻拉正他残破的蓑衣，我问他：“依然在守望吗？”

他沉默着，嘴角漾起一丝不易察觉的微笑。

他会不会就是我？没有人能知道。

This winter vacation, I read one of the world famous book called one thousand one night. It is also called Arabian Nights，This is an ancient book, there are many old stories about people in Arabia.

In this book, there are a lot of very strange story, the story of the fisherman and the devil , fisherman and four-color fish story, the story of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp and so on, some stories tell about the brave spirit of adventure, and some praise people’s brave daring to fight with the evil forces. there are humorous, sad, interesting, horrible, tragic and all sorts of stories.

The hero of the story called Holden,he was a middle school student,but he didn’t like studying at all.He was tired of everything in the school. So he was expelled from school for the fourth time.

In the removed that night,Holden left school,but he was afraid to go home.In desperation,Holden lived in a small hotel.However,it was a chaos of hotel,some shady people lived there,here Holden made a lot of stupid things.Later,he and his girlfriend split up.

Then Holden to the bar to drink with an old school friend,he got very drunk,he put his head in cold water for a while,just wake up. When he walked out of the pub, be cold wind blows, the hair of his head was frozen.He thought he might die from pneumonia, always can"t see his sister, decided to take the plunge and home her farewell.

Perhaps everyone in a teenager have encountered similar problems, when we are at that time we offen not to talk about own confusion,so we may enter a wrong way,bringing harm to myself. So after finished reading this book, I realize the importance of mental health, when we meet with difficulties, we should actively to face, and efforts to solve every problem,can"t give up myself,we must have the courage to face the reality.
