Lima had 5.7 million people in 1985 but there were 9.1 million by 2000. Tianjin used to have 7. 9 million in 1985. By 2000 its population reached 9. 7 million. Such cities as London, Osaka, Moscow, Beijing, Karachi, Delhi, Jakarta, Seoul, and Teheran are having a similar population growth. We would not be shocked if all other cities have this rate. But some cities, like Calcutta, Shanghai, New York, and Sto Paulo boost their population even more quickly than the above-mentioned cities. Tokyo had 18.8 million in 1985. The year 2000 found 20.2 million Tokyo citizens. Mexico city had 17.3 million people in 1985, but as population specialists had predicted, that reached 25.8 million in 2000 !

The population problem is a universal concern nowadays. Any government is a failure if it does nothing about its population growth.

Many years ago, before I moved to the city, I lived in a small town. I was so close to the nature, I could see the mountain and the clear water. I remember the town became especially beautiful after the heavy rain, the air was so fresh and I felt a little cozy, it was like a gift from god in the hot summer. The mountain looked so clear over the heavy rain, it just washed by the rain. The things around me were so green. I love living in the town, I especially like the town when it was washed by the rain. The environmental pollution is worse and worse more and more seriously today. Water is polluted; we have no clean water to drink. Many trees are cutting down, some animals is getting less and less. Some factories are pouring dirty air in the sky, the population is increasing faster and faster, resources are getting less and less…etc. Not only does it affect our lives and health, it but also has a great affection in the future. Peoples health has been greatly affected by air, noise and water pollution. Many people died of diseases. In order to live a better life, we need protect our world。 We shouldnt throw away rubbish everywhere. We want to recycle, reduce, reuse things .Dont waste things. This saves money and reduces pollution. Use things for as long as possible. We dont use plastic bags. We must plant more trees and stop the people cutting them .We hope our world becomes more and more beautiful.

It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggest concern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of water loss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and lakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably no exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment threatens the existence of mankind itself.

Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if peoples lives are adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?

There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can be achieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. The key to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the problem. Both governments and ordinary citizens should join hands to make this world a better place to live in, not only for ourselves, but also for future generations.

在学校“健康第一”的教育思想指导下，卫生室积极开展学校环境卫生工作的宣传教育与包干清扫工作，让健康卫生意识深入每个学生，深入每个家庭。师生的环境卫生意识不断提高。

一、建设一支队伍

要搞好学校环境卫生工作，需要建设一支强有力的卫生保洁队伍。在党支部、校长室领导下，32个班主任具体抓好各班的卫生保洁工作;每班有两名卫生员协助老师关心教室及保干区的卫生打扫工作，全校师生人人都有卫生保洁意识。

三年级以上的卫生员同时担任学校环境卫生检查评比工作。卫生室对这些同学进行每月一次的培训活动，让他们以学校小主人的身份参加学校的卫生管理工作，不仅提高了他们卫生保洁意识，同时也锻炼了他们的工作能力，从小培养了他们为大家服务的思想。

二、做好检查反馈工作

为改善学校环境卫生面貌，卫生室定期做好检查反馈工作。每月一次将检查评比结果公布于校园网，并为成绩好的班级发流动红旗，以资鼓励。卫生室平时做好一天四次的巡视检查工作，发现问题及时解决，并把发现的问题与解决的方法在校园网上公布，以引起大家的重视。

三、配合学校完成上级部门的工作

根据《关于开展“人人动手、清洁家园”活动的方案》的精神，结合我校实际情况，制定《开展“人人动手、清洁家园”活动方案》。在今后一个阶段，结合南汇区建设健康城区，创建健康校园等工作的开展，在全校广泛开展“人人动手、清洁家园”的活动，将进一步改善学校及校园周边的环境卫生面貌。

四、积极开展卫生防病工作

学校是人口密集的地方，人口流动大，给防病带来了很大的困难，卫生室在在学校党支部、校长室的领导下，根据实际情况积极开展卫生防病工作。

五、预警应急

学校的防病工作领导重视，工作抓在实处，基本上能预防、控制各类学生中常见的传染病，一旦发生，学校传染病防控工作领导小组将按照政府统一部署，启动应急工作预案。

围绕我校健康第一的指导思想，按照建设健康校园的工作要求，卫生室做到思想上重视，制定并完善相应的规章制度;加大宣传力度，强化卫生要求和落实包干区责任制以及各组室内外清洁等一系列突出问题。加强卫生防病工作，提升广大师生的健康意识，为我校的健康教育工作奠定良好的环境基础。

Finally, those who intentionally damage the environment should be punished severely. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.

Nowadays, peoples life has changed a lot with the development of modern technology and economy, which has put lots of negative effects on the environment.

Why this? Because, firstly, some factories are pouring wastes into rivers, lakes, seas and so forth; secondly, because of human activities, a great number of plants and animals are losing their lives; thirdly, using modern machines and chemicals is bad for the environment. Besides these, there are a lot of human activities which have done or are doing harm to our surroundings.

For this, I think, first, our government should make drastic measures to regulate human activities; second, we human beings should take pains-taking work to stop ourselves destroying the environment and try our best to protect our living space more.
