一：用介词短语替代从句，例：

原句：While they were playing tennis, she started an argument that lasted all morning.

修改后：During tennis she started an argument that lasted all morning.

二：删除诸如"who is”或"that is"之类的关系代词，变从句为短语，例：

英语写作注意两点

一、先审题，弄清写作要求审题是写好作文的前提，也是书面表达的基础。如果写偏了题，语言表达再好也很难得高分。审题时要注意两个方面：

1.认真地看两遍题目，包括提示，全面了解写作要求。

2.理清思路，确定体裁、框架结构和内容。

二、用英语进行思维英语写作时必须排除汉语思维的干扰。

一、外显连接

所谓外显连接是指用特定的连接词将相关信息进行连接。通常情况下，例子作为论据由for example, for instance, like, such as, take… as 等引出。

如：it is undeniable that mobile phones have facilitated our lives in many different ways. For example, when an emergency occurs, such as a traffic accident or a violent crime, mobile phones can help the victims to call the police or an ambulance immediately for help.

本例中，for example 引出例子论证“mobile phones have facilitated our lives in many different ways.” 而后面的 such as 则引出emergency 的具体形式。For instance 与它的用法完全相同，即后面要接句子例证。 Like, such as, take…as 等直接名词（或相当于名词的词）。由于这些都是基本常识，这里不再赘述。

为了使连接词多样化，建议考生运用下面的一些短语（或句式）连接论点和论据：

如：Working part time when you are studying in university is beneficial to your life. I myself is a case in point（or‘my experiences serve as a typical example’）. Through those experiences, I have learned to be independent and responsible.

二、内化连接

实际上，大家看原汁原味的文英文文章会发现有些信息的连接不用外显式，而是通过某些特定的词或者特定的方式给读者以清晰的层次感，从而使文章信息传递更通畅。

下面我们来看一下哪些例证可以省去连接词，实现内化连接。

1、人物经历作例子

其中的人物可以是名人，Thomas Edison gave us an example that success only comes after persistence and hard work. 也可以是作者自己的亲身经历 I remember that ten years ago cell phones were unusual and seldom seen. 人物经历作例子因为其较强的故事性而引人关注。但是切记，如果运用名人做例证，要注意信息的准确性； 如果运用自己的亲身经历做例子则要注意例子选择是否典型、有说服力。但是无论怎样，有人物经历时，一定会给人以非常明确的细节信息的感觉，所以完全可以省去连接词。

2、数字信息作例子：

引入带有数字信息的例证，除可以更具体、更详实的说明观点外，也可以内化连接词，因为数字信息所要传递的一定是一个量化的概念，而这一概念就是它所要论证的中心。看个例子：

The work was immense: filling about eighty large notebooks (and without a library to hand), Johnson wrote the definitions of over 40,000 words, and illustrated their many meanings with some 114,000 quotations drawn from English writing on every subject, from the Elizabethans to his own time.

例子中immense是观点中心词，后面的具体数字都是对这一中心词的佐证。（当然我们不要忘记这里“：”也是在帮助这段文字内化连接，相当于“for example”）

3、专有名词信息作例子

人名、地名属于细节信息的范畴，也经常出现在例证中，以一种’fact’的形式出现。如：

Air pollution is increasingly becoming the focus of government and citizen concern around the globe. From Mexico City and New York to Singapore and Tokyo, new solutions to this old problem are being proposed and implemented with ever increasing speed.当你看到这些地名时，一定会想到它们是某一类具有相同性质的地域的代表，那么自然也就是’点’信息，而非‘面’信息，从而可以省去连接词的使用，却依然保持主次分明。

其它诸如期刊杂志名、书名等专有名词也可以有类似的用法。

4、一些小的介词（短语）引导例子

如果大家注意总结，会发现雅思阅读文章中有一些介词（短语）也可以引出例子。

如：from…to: Toughened glass is found everywhere, from cars and bus shelters to the windows, walls and roofs of thousands of buildings around the world.

再如：including: …..

这里including 相当于such，like等。

My Views on Examinations

Since school comes into being， the test standard has been used to appraise performance of students。 So far it is still being used， which may suggest that actually there are some advantages in it。 However， it is also highly possible that the test standard is a not ideal way to find out what students have learned and what they havent。 Most school is still using it just because there is no better method to replace it。

In my opinion， the following three points are the critical flaws in the test standard。

One of the most harmful effects on the test method is that it will force us to study just for passing tests， not for acquiring knowledge especially in China。 Obviously the final object of education is XXX us intellective by learning more knowledge。 While the test is only a way to examine the level of students studies， it has been deteriorated to a sifter deciding the fate of students。 Why can it be called a terrible sifter？ Now in the tests， which decide who can enter a higher school， thousands of poor students， who want a splendid future， must prepare for the tests by finishing a great deal of practices。 Those practice tests are heavy-laden to them。 So in this case， how can they be expected to study to obtain knowledge？ To them that are enough if they can reach the level which tests need。 In the end what our nation will get， genuine persons with ability or just test robots？

Secondly， tests will bring the examinees great pressure， which can affect their lives。 A typical example of this is that most young students have worn glasses even though some of them are still children。 For preparing for tests， they must spend a lot of time on doing their homework so that their eyesight becomes worse and worse。 And the more time they spend on those， the less time they have for playing and relaxing。 Consequently， there is a bad influence on their health。

Thirdly， in fact， test system itself can not veraciously estimate who is better than others because there are many factors impacting the results of test。 For instance， someone cheated in test so that his score would be higher than others。 Or someone who was too nervous to perform well fell in the test。

这次月考结束了，我觉得英语成绩不太理想。因为总分才127。5，而且还是加上附加分以后的成绩。自我很不满意，相信老师您也是吧！这次必须要好好反思自我到底哪里做得不好。最近我觉得自我的表现也比较差，A组的作文很少交，而且上课也不是很专心，总是和旁边的同学开小差，害得连旁边同学的成绩也一同退步了。背书那方面也不是很用心，记单词短语也马马虎虎，笔记抄了就算，也没有用心去记去背，所以导致这次月考的退步。

从试卷上分析，听力扣了2。5分，比以前都有进步。而单项选取、语法选取、完型填空这些题都是全对的。比较以前算是有很大的进步，因为之前做语法选取和完形填空总会错那么一两题。但阅读题失分就比较严重。错了三题，扣了6分。可能是考试时不够仔细，又比较焦急怕后面的题做不完，所以导致出现了错误。但是最糟糕的还是二卷的部分，作文满分十五分，自我竟然才得了八分。除了有点惊讶外，还有点后悔。后悔没有每一天写好Ａ组的日记，自我的语法错误又错得离谱。可能作文的资料还有点欠缺，而且我看高分的同学的作文字数都写好多，我的字数才她们的一半。所以才丢掉了这么多分。完成句子和单词填空这方面完成的也比较好，就因为完成句子没有注意时态被老师扣了分，虽然没有全对但相比前几次都是有所进步的。附加题部分就做得比较一般，才对了６个。做的时候不是很懂文章的意思，不会的那些都是乱选上去的，所以觉得完型填空这方面还是要多多加强练习才行。不然下次月考又又完型填空附加题，我就好吃亏了。
