It seems we are living in the conflict between modern and traditional

cultures every day. Hearing the blaring of horns the moment you step out of your

thinking, "Will the traditional culture be gradually lost?"

Many people believe so. They may put right in front of you all the

evidences they can dig out. They may argue that people are rushing to

The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the most popular traditional festivals

celebrated in China, which is on the fifth of the fifth lunar month, also known

as Duanwu Festival. It’s said that it is to commemorate the death of a Chinese

patriotic poet, Qu Yuan, who was snared by corrupt officials in ancient China

and finally committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River to protest

against them.

The traditions and customs held on this festival differ from place to

place, but there are some common in them. First, the most famous and great

tradition is holding Dragon Boat races, which are held by fishermen’s attempt to

protect Qu Yuan’s body against attacking by fishes and other animals in the

river by beating drums and row the dragon shaped boat. Nowadays dragon boat

races have been an annual popular sport activity among people. In addition,

making and eating Zongzi—a dumpling made of glutinous rice and wrapped in bamboo

or reed leaves—is also a popular custom during this day. It can be made by many

kinds of stuffing. What’s more, hanging herbs on the front door, drinking

realgar wine and pasting up picture of Zhongkui—a mythic guardian figure in

ancient china—are also popular during the festival, which are mean to protect

people from evil and disease.

These customs and traditions have been changed a little in recent years,

but they still make contribution to the spread and inheritance of Chinese

culture.

Nowadays, house husband has become a hot phenomenon in modern society. As

we all know that no matter what country, it’s a tradition that men play a core

role in family who always take the burden to earn money to support their family.

But things are kind of different as society develops, more and more men are

beginning to take over housework while women go out from house. In my point of

view, I think this is not a big deal.

In the first place, house husband may be a shame title for men, but when it

comes to money, there is no room for reputation. As society develops, the life

standard are rising, and everything for living is much expensive than before, if

couples want to guarantee their life quality, then they should let the one who

earn better to work, although the one is female.

Therefore, in order to take good care of family, men are likely to stay at home

睡梦中，我已经到了家乡，到了这熟悉的家乡。楼下，依然是熙熙攘攘的情景，那么融洽，那么开心，只是，没了往日灵活的身影——滑着滑板、骑着自行车的小孩。我知道，马上就会恢复往日的一道风景——我拿着滑板，下了楼。那一刻，又恢复了以前的场景：小孩子滑着滑板，大人们起着哄——真是一批有娱乐精神的大人。风，掠过我的脸庞，只听见耳旁有呼呼的风声……妈妈的拍打使我从睡梦中醒来：“看!到家了!”我猛地坐起来，抑制不住心里的激动情绪。红房子，看到了，家，久违的家!

拖着一大包东西费了九牛二虎之力才抵达“根据地”，因为已是夜晚，只是草草地扫视了一下家乡。猛然发现，家乡已是既熟悉却夹杂着陌生，微笑着的灯，有点豪华;小孩子的玩耍地，已不见踪影;昔日的烧烤店，已发展成酒楼……我有些懊恼，没有看到家乡的发展过程，也没看到残存印象中的家乡，但，鼻腔里依然满是家乡自然的气息，人人之间依然是以诚相待!

家，不仅是吃住的地方，更是心灵的住所;家乡，是家的驻扎地，是永远变不了的生你养你的地方!

The New Year is coming and this term has finished. Now, I can enjoy a happy

winter holiday. In winter holiday, I don’t have to get up early every morning.

It’s the best thing for me. I often get up at nine o’clock in the morning. My

parents go to work so I stay at home alone. I will go out for breakfast. Noodle,

milk and egg are my favorites. Then I go back home to watch TV or meet my

friends. We always have many things to do. My parents would go home at noon so I

have lunch at home. In the afternoon, I will sleep and then do some homework. In

short, I spend most time in playing. I love winter holiday.

一天傍晚，我独自走在得能湖公园的小路上，无意间抬头看到黄昏的天边，不禁赞叹道：“哇，好美的夕阳!”

空中一朵朵黄昏的云犹如波浪一般，一层一层地向我推进。眺望远方，我仿佛看到了一望无际的大海，波光粼粼，一点点余剩的微光直逼我的眼，我立刻就被吸引住了。坐在石凳上，迎面吹来一丝丝清凉的风，可我的眼始终没离开过它。

又过了一会儿，天空经过反复变换，变成了几个花枝招展的小姑娘。清风吹动她们的群摆，小姑娘迎着风儿翩翩起舞，我不禁为她们热烈的舞蹈而喝彩。两边的云朵就像帘子一样，再次拉开，她们就换了一套服装，一人拿着一个麦克风，卖弄着自己清脆的喉咙，唱出婉转的曲子，进入到高声部分，她们似乎并没有退缩的感觉，而是迎难而上，听到我震耳欲聋。帘子又拉上了，但仿佛小姑娘们还没唱过瘾，我也没有听过瘾。

帘子再一次拉开来了，一对狮子好像在争第一名一般，你不让我，我不让你，在一起打闹着，非要拼个你死我活才行。过来一会儿，已经打得遍体鳞伤，却还未争出个胜负。一旁的大象等急了，一声怒吼之后，冲了过来，一下把狮子撞倒五六米开外，似乎还说了一句：“这么垃圾，一下就被撞飞了!”

突然，远方来了一位魔术师，像有魔法一样，瞬移过来，仿佛可以呼风唤雨，一下就把大象打败了。之后，他抖了抖帽子上的灰尘，露出一丝轻蔑的微笑，仿佛在说：“不是什么事都能靠蛮力，有时需要靠脑子。”接着他又变了一个魔术，整个天都黑了，我这才发恍然大悟，原来傍晚已经过了，可我却还流连忘返，迟迟不肯离开。

我爱你，最美的夕阳，我爱你播撒出的余晖，尽管我们的相逢总是很少。
