近日读了这样一个故事：一个纽约商人看到一个衣衫褴褛的铅笔推销员，出于怜悯，他塞给那人一元钱，不一会他返回来又取了几支铅笔并抱歉地解释自己忘取笔了。然后又说：“你跟我都是商人，你也有东西要卖。”几个月后，他们再次相遇，那卖笔的人已成为推销商，他充满感激地对纽约商人说：“谢谢您，您给了我自尊，是您告诉了我，我是个商人。”

孟子有云：“爱人者，人恒爱之;敬人者，人恒敬之。”强调了尊重他人的重要性。一个人在与别人交往中，如果能很好的理解别人、尊重别人，那么他一定会得到别人百倍的理解和尊重。

懂得尊重，是做人最起码的一种道德要求。做到了尊重别人，则是一种境界、一种美德。这是人生必不可少的基本素质，是对他人人格与价值的充分肯定，同时，亦是赢得他人对自己尊重的基础，自身的自尊方能得以周全。所谓尊人尊自己，这是一种辩证的关系。要想得到别人的尊重，首先要懂得和学会尊重别人。

Remember the day when I first came to the college. Being a boy of 17, I was longing for a new life as a college student; but, at the same time, I had no idea what college life would be like.

That morning when the bus carried me to the gate of the college. I was so excited that my heart was beating very fast as if it would leap out of my mouth. From now on, I would be a student of this college. After registration, we were led by an instructor to the dormitory, where, for the first time, we were going to live without parents but roommates. I was so clumsy that I did not know how to make the bed and fix the mosquito net.

In the afternoon, I took a walk around the campus together with my roommates. To think of studying in such a beautiful place made me feel quite proud of myself. 那要实现自己的这个理想，我要怎么做呢?我想，首先要坚持自己的理想，不要轻言放弃，半途而废的话一切都是空谈;其次我要勤学苦练，要让自己的音乐技能更上一层楼;最后，我要努力考上一所优秀的音乐学院，继续深造学习。

选择了理想，就不要放弃，只要持续地努力，不懈地奋斗，就会取得成功。
