Chinese New Years Eve is known as chú xī. It literally means "Year-pass Eve".

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Lunar Calendar. Outside of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, Chinese New Year is also celebrated in countries with significant Han Chinese populations, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. In countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States, although Chinese New Year is not an official holiday, many ethnic Chinese hold large celebrations and Australia Post, Canada Post, and the US Postal Service issues New Years themed stamps.

Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely. People will pour out their money to buy presents, decoration, material, food, and clothing. Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of “happiness”, “wealth”, and “longevity”. On the Eve of Chinese New Year, supper is a feast with families. Food will include such items as pigs, ducks, chicken and sweet delicacies. The family will end the night with firecrackers. Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes. The Chinese New Year tradition is a great way to reconcile forgetting all grudges, and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone.

Although the Chinese calendar traditionally does not use continuously numbered years, outside China its years are often numbered from the reign of Huangdi. But at least three different years numbered 1 are now used by various scholars, making the year 2009 "Chinese Year" 4707, 4706, or 4646.

在其它地方，我还看见有的在卖气球、跳绳，有的在卖小吃、点心、水果，穿的用的吃的样样俱全，真是无奇不有。玩了一上午，下午我又要去走亲访友拜新年了，这无疑也是一件高兴的事。晚上家家户户都灯火通明，家家都把房子打扮得别具一格，各有各的个性。他们把买来的年货放得满地都地。买来的年画怎么贴法，那就各有自己的风格和喜好了。有的正着贴，有的倒着贴，还有的歪着贴，各有千秋。人们把买来的菜全部都弄好了，只等春节一到，就可一饱口福了。家家备有鞭炮，人们穿上新衣服，准备迎新年，在春节前，人们一出门，如果遇上了好朋友，总是口中不忘说一句：“上街啊！”今天真是玩得太痛快了！算是一饱眼福二饱口福三饱手福了。最为幸运的是那些卖主了，今天可是生意兴隆啰！一些亲朋好友欢聚一堂，品尝着美酒佳肴，谈着一些开心的话儿。而最高兴的则是我们，可以大把大把地攒取压岁钱，然后就欢天喜地跑到街上去买很多好玩的东西，如小汽车、四驱车、玩具枪、足球等，而我们只要嘴巴甜一点，多说些祝福的话儿，那可就大赚一笔了！

人们一直玩到深夜，嘴里啃着美味水果，手里燃放鞭炮烟花……大人小孩们载歌载舞，忘情地玩个痛快！希望今天全国的小朋友在新的一年里快快乐乐，没有烦恼！

春节快要到了，家家户户都开始了大扫除，擦窗户、刷墙角、拖地、整理房间······当然，我们家也不例外。由于爸爸妈妈工作都很忙，所以直到一月二十八日吃完晚饭，我们家才正式开始了一年一度的大扫除活动。

大扫除前，我们一致选举妈妈当组长，我当副组长，哈哈，爸爸只好当小兵啦，一切都要听从我们的指挥。“大大(爸爸)，我们先从餐厅开始，你把餐厅橱窗上的装饰品拿下来放到餐桌上，再把橱窗的玻璃都擦一擦。每块儿玻璃都要擦，不能漏掉哦!擦完我检查，快点儿。在椅子上站稳了。”“小小(我)，你和妈妈一起擦这些装饰品，擦完了拿给爸爸，让他放好。”妈妈组长说着，递给我们一人一块湿毛巾。我和爸爸异口同声地说：“遵命，组长。”说完，我们开始按照妈妈的吩咐工作。

刚开始，我觉得很新鲜，干起活来劲头十足。我擦的很认真，不放过一丝一角。可是没过一会，我的手就又累又酸，有点不想干了。我甩甩手，深深地吸了一口气，妈妈组长看见我这副样子，关切的问：“副组长，怎么了?是不是累了?”“嗯!”我眨了眨眼睛。组长故意撅了撅嘴巴看着我：“我们才干了多长时间，你就累了?那你这个副组长以后还怎么带兵呀!”我撇了撇嘴，有点不服气，小声嘟囔了一句：谁说我不干了，休息一下不行呀!组长听到我小声说着什么，扭头看了看我，没说什么。

我看了看剩下的工作，还有好多呀!天哪!这要到什么时候才能干的完。可是我看到爸爸妈妈还在不知疲倦地忙碌着，就强打起精神，对自己鼓起劲来：“加油，徐云若，你能行的，一定要坚持下去!坚持就是胜利!”休息了一会儿，我亏又拿起抹布干了起来。不过好奇怪呀，自从我给自己鼓劲以后，我好像感觉不太累了，身上充满了力气，干活的速度也快了许多。

餐厅、客厅、卧室、书房......我和爸爸妈妈终于马不停蹄地把工作干完了，这时候我才觉得可真够累呀，胳膊好像都抬不起来了，而且手也让水泡得凉冰冰的，还不停地打哈欠。妈妈组长和爸爸小兵也累了，可是经过我们的努力，家里已经变得窗明几净、一尘不染、整整齐齐、漂漂亮亮了，看着这丰硕的劳动果实，我们的心里乐开了花。

这真是一次有趣、忙碌、劳累、辛苦的大扫除，不过我喜欢!

爆竹声声辞旧岁，梅花朵朵迎新春！我盼呀！盼年的春节，终于到来了。

除夕夜里，我和家人一边吃团圆饭，一边观看漫天飞舞的烟花，啊！太美了！早在前几天，就总能看见零零星星的烟花，今天总算可以一饱眼福了！看那边的“彩珠筒”，由一个小圆点，慢慢升上天空，在一瞬间绽放，五彩缤纷，异常瑰丽！还有“昙花一现”、“冲天炮”……都在夜空中争奇斗艳，特别引人注目。临近子夜，就是最为壮观的时刻，也是最令人期待的时刻。这时，小睡的人们也会被此起彼伏的鞭炮声吵醒，用这种方式，来表达自己辞旧迎新的喜悦之情。

除夕，是中国的传统节日，每到这时，一家人都会团聚在一起，代表一家人永远团团圆圆，相亲相爱。而每逢过节，我的爸爸都因为工作的原因不能回家，还有许多叔叔阿姨也是这样，在这举国欢庆的日子里，他们依然坚守在工作岗位上，为人民服务，他们是最可亲可敬的人！

光阴似箭，眼间迎来了2008年年里的一切都变成了美好的回忆，这是崭新的一年，新的起点，新的目标，新的努力，当然也会有新的收获。让我们在全新的一年里更加努力的学习把！

我的寒假生活丰富多彩，有时候玩捉迷藏、有时候玩军旗、有时候打雪仗、有时候玩电脑，我最喜欢打雪仗。

2月5日那天下了皑皑白雪，我和弟弟连忙下拉了楼，开始打雪仗了，我迫不及待的拿起一团雪，图了团向弟弟的扔去，哈哈打中了，弟弟也拿了一团雪向我扔去，没打中，我又拿起啦一大团雪，向弟弟扔去，遗憾的是居然没打中，弟弟拿起我刚才扔的雪向我扔去，居然打中了，我又拿了小团雪，向弟弟扔去打中了，然后我想拉一个办法，我躲在车后面这样弟弟就打不中我了，我就躲在啦车后面，弟弟扔了6次，只打中了2次，我打了四次，全打中了，不一会儿，天黑了，我和弟弟回了家，妈妈说：‘你们俩衣服上到处都是雪。’被妈妈买啦一顿。

那天我虽然被妈妈骂一顿但是我还是很开心。

新年到了，我们大年三十就一马杀到了老家——漯河。一见到好久不见的姐姐王卓文和弟弟妹妹们，我们姊妹几个紧紧的拥抱在了一起。

经过商量以后，我们决定买几十块钱的炮玩一玩，也高兴一把。经过家长的同意后，我们来到了附近的一家小卖部，找到了我们需要的炮，有：摔炮。五响炮。鞭炮。溜溜跑等50多块钱的炮。

开始放炮了。五响炮被我们选中首先出马，“嘣，嘣嘣嘣嘣”。五声连响吓得妹妹大哭大闹。我们给她了五彩的鞭炮，这才让她定下神来。溜溜跑在放时追着妹妹跑，让妹妹特别开心……

该回家了，我们互相拥抱，谁也忘不了这个洋溢着快乐的一天……

今天是虎年的第一天，我和爸爸昨天约定好去动物园，漫天的大雪也阻止不了我们前进的脚步。

我们在镇海台下车，真美啊!满眼都是白色，秀丽的虞山就象盖了条白被子。我们冒着纷飞的大雪，沿着弯弯的山路很快就到了动物园。

进门的路上是一层厚厚的积雪，看来我们是今年的第一批游客呢。客人少了动物们也不起劲，猴山上的猴子们一堆一堆的挤在一起取暖，全没了平日的活泼，对我们也是爱理不理的;睡在箱子里的黑尾莽又粗又长，身上的斑纹也越来越深了;热情的鸸鹋大摇大摆向我们走来，把头伸出栏杆，象是在欢迎我们;接着我们又去看了骆驼，狮子，鳄鱼，棕熊，金钱豹，可惜它们都在睡觉;虎年可不能忘了老虎，老虎也还没有起床，只怪我们来得太早了;最后去喂孔雀和鸽子，它们很大方，看见我把谷物撒到面前，都争先恐后的跑来啄食。真是非常开心。

转了一圈我们来到映山湖边，堆雪人，打雪仗，在雪地里尽情地玩耍，结果我和爸爸都成了“雪人”。虽然外面非常寒冷，但是我感觉身上热气腾腾，心里更是温暖如春。美好的时光总是匆匆而过，不知不觉半天过去了，回家吃饭咯。
