我的家在广州的珠江边，听长辈说，那里以前是非常干净的，珠江里一点儿垃圾也没有，地上也是一点儿垃圾也没有，天空是那样的蓝，花草树木是那样的漂亮，空气是那样的清新……但我现在看见的环境，不再是像以前那样了，而是：因为工厂排出的废气和我们扔得垃圾，珠江变得臭臭的，水里还漂浮着各种垃圾和水生植物。因为我们乱扔垃圾，地上的垃圾随处可见。因为汽车排出得尾气，天空变的灰蒙蒙的。花草树木被人们和害虫破坏，使空气变得十分差……

为了不再出现这种环境，管理人员派工作人员去捞水里的垃圾，派清洁工人去扫地面上的垃圾，我们要种多一点树，要爱护花草树木……

No one can have failed to notice the fact that water shortage is a grave problem with which the whole world is confronted. Actually, it has become so widespread that it has severely affected peoples daily life and hindered the development of the global economy.

A number of factors could account for the problem, but the following might be the critical ones. First, with the development of agriculture and industry, an increasing amount of water is needed.
