Why do people eat junk food when they feel unloved People eat junk food for various reasons. Some people eat junk food because other people eat it. And others do so because they are tempted by TV commercials. Some people even eat junk food when they become hateful of someone.

One of the widely accepted explantion to this is that people tend to eat junk food when they are stressed. Expecially for those who strickly control their diet turn out to be more vulnerable to stress-eating. In fact, when people go through difficult times, they want to be generous about themselves and often end up developing a huge craving for junk food. Under these circumstances, they also show a strong tendncy to prefer foods rich in fat and carbohydrate.

San Francisco made itself the object of national attention last year with city legislators decision to ban McDonalds from serving Happy Meals. The ordinance, intended to promote healthful eating decisions among children by stripping the fast-food behemoth of one of its most effective marketing tools, led to derision from pundits across the country, including a humiliating turn on the Daily Show by the bans author, Supervisor Eric Mar. (See above.)

Unfortunately, a new study published in the Journal of Pediatrics suggests that such intervention by well-meaning adults could be for naught.

The study evaluated the effect that commercials for French fries and apple slices -- yes, the apple commercial must have been pretty lame -- had on young childrens food choices. Among those shown the commercial for fries, 71 percent chose a coupon for fries afterward. Additionally, some 46 percent of the kids who were shown a commercial for apple slices still chose the fries coupon.

Parents scolding seemed to have some effect, but not as much as you might think. About 55 percent of kids who were shown the fries commercial and then urged not to eat junk food by their parents still chose fries.

Is the takeaway from this study that our children are doomed to lives of Super-sized ill health? Who knows, but maybe its time for San Franciscos Board of Supervisors to start thinking about a ban on fast-food commercials.

At present, many people criticize that the Chinese society is full filled with indifference and nobody is willing to help others, especially the strangers in the street. However, some peopleSaythat we have experienced the cases that strangers asking for help desperately yet turning to be robbers and thieves and swindling the kind-hearted people. And now, there are many fraud gangs extort money in the name of begging so that people do not trust beggars as before. But, I still believe that goodness and compassion are still live in our heart, which urge us to give a warm help to those people who need help.

Maybe you will never know just a small thing you do to others means a lot. Your giving a hand casually will be a lighted torch in the dark, brightening the road and retrieving a desperate wanderer of his confidence and hope of life; your warm words will be a piece of sunshine, melting a cold and helpless heart. In addition, offering help is a virtue. It’s an act of paying out, and it really will pay back. Helping others is always a good tradition of our Chinese nation, which has been profoundly rooted in our hearts. A Chinese proverb goes like this , ” Help others only by giving him a little drop of water, and someday he will surely return the kindness by a crystal stream of brook to you.” That is not mean that we expect any return when we help other, but once we do help, in someday when we need help, we efinitely can get a warm hand from others. I think what we need is trust to rebuild warm relationship between each other. Furthermore, by helping others, one could have a feeling of content and pride, a sense of achievement and the realization of one’s own value. As another old saying goes, “Roses given, fragrance in hand.”

In a society, nobody can live alone without help from others. Without help from others, we’re liable to be in dilemma. Therefore, let’s be generous enough, open our heart to the strangers, give a hand to those helpless in hopes of pulling through.
