On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’， he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’， they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’

In Pauls youth, he had the ambition of being a famous basketball player. As an amateur, he found great amusement in playing basketball. An ambitious boy usually worked hard until one day he broke his leg. The ambulance drove along with noisy whirling whistles toward the hospital. His parents alternated in looking after him. Once he recovered, Paul amended his life goal. He began to have interest in political affairs. At the age of 40, he was appointed ambassador to Britain. He told the news to his girlfriend at once and he proposed to her. He said to her, My dear, my savings amount to 300 thousand dollars. We have ample money to decorate our wedding room. I just bought an amplifier yesterday. And I prefer to an ampere meter being made of aluminum even though it has analog to another one. But he was amazed to hear her ambiguous answer, Maybe . . Paul had no alternative but to wait. There were a few alterations to the timetable and the next month he flew to Britain. The airplane flew at an altitude of 20000 ft. Paul felt something wrong and soon lost his mind. When he woke up, he was told that the airplane had crashed and he broke his leg, once again! how time flies! it is ahnost a month since i arrived here and began a new life as a university student. but all this time, i have been missing you and my dear school. i just can not tell you how grateful i am to you for the help you gave me during my preparation for the university entrance examination. now i will tell you something about my university and life here.

our university lies at the foot of mount zijin, in the eastern suburbs of nanjing city. the campus is very big,with a big sportsground surrounded by lots of modern classroom buildings. what have impressed me most are the big library and the well-equipped language lab. our campus is also very beautiful. there are quite a few well-kept gardens. every road is lined with trees. how happy we are to study in such an enviromnent!

life here is both busy and coloufful. we have classes every morning. in the afternoon, we either work in the laboratory or do assignments in the classroom. in the evening, we can go to talks or do reading in the library. this keeps us occupied most of the week. but on weekends, there are always many entertainments. we may go to the club to have a dance or go to the cinema to see a fihn. sometimes we may also hold a party to practise oral english. in a word, we like our life here very much.

On Saturday, we and aunt go to McDonalds to eat hamburgers.

By McDonalds, I ordered a plate chicken leg, end to the second floor, find

the position of sit sat down, and eat it with relish. Finished eating

hamburgers, aunt took us to buy Christmas presents, I picked out a blue suit

small rabbits and a pink bag, over three little flower, flower is pink, one is

yellow, and one is white.

China has been divided into three kingdoms historically: Wei in the north,

Shu in the southwest and Wu in the southeast.

Once Cao Cao from Wei led a 200,000 strong army down to the south to wipe

out the kingdoms of Wu and Shu. Therefore, Wu and Shu united to defend his

attack. Cao ordered his men to link up the boats by iron chains to form a bridge

for the Caos passing from the north bank of Yangtze River to the south bank.

The General Commander of the allied army was Zhou Yu. He analyzed the situation

carefully. Then he got a good idea. He decided to attack the enemy with fire. So

he began to prepare for the neting battle. Suddenly he thought of the direction

of wind. He needed the east wind to blow strongly in order to acnetplish his

scheme. However, the wind did not nete for days. Thus Zhou Yu was worried about

it. At that time, he got a note from Zhuge Liang, the military adviser of the

State of Shu, which reads:

"To fight Cao Cao

Fire will help you win

Everything is ready

Except the east wind"

Quickly he turned to Zhuge Liang for help. Zhuge told him not to worry and

there would be an east wind in a couple of days. Two days later, the east wind

helped Zhou acnetplish his scheme. At last, the allied army won the war.

Later, people use it to say "All is ready except what is crucial".
