Development and the Environment

It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggest concern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of water loss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and lakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably no exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment threatens the existence of mankind itself.

Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if people＇s lives are adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?

There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can be achieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. The key to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the problem. Both governments and ordinary citizens should join hands to make this world a better place to live in, not only for ourselves, but also for future generations.

不可否认的是环境恶化已成为当今世界上人们最担心的事了。因为水资源的浪费和土壤被侵蚀，土地资源逐渐缩小。我们呼吸着有毒的空气，河流和湖泊也被附近的工厂里排放出来的废弃物严重污染了。不夸大其词地说，环境质量的恶化很可能威胁人类的生存。

有些人说环境问题是我们为经济发展所付出的代价。对此，我不敢苟同。如果人类的生活被日益恶化的环境污染所影响的话，那么，经济发展的意义何在?

足够的证据表明：经济发展与环境保护的平衡可以实现可持续发展。关键是使人们意识到问题的严重性。政府和普通市民两方都应该携手使地球成为更适合人类居住的地方，这不仅是为我们自己，也是为我们的后代。

今年九月二十八日，因为坐在法华西亭，嘹望西山，才开始指点着它并称道它的奇异。于是令仆人，渡过湘江，沿着染溪，砍伐丛生的草木，焚烧茂密的茅草，直至山的高处才停止。然后，我们攀援着登上山去，伸开两腿坐下，观赏风景，只见所有几州的土地，都在自己的坐垫下面。它们的高高下下的形势：山峰高耸，山谷凹陷，有的象小土堆，有的象洞穴;千里内外的景物近在眼前，种种景物聚集、缩拢在一块，没有能够逃离、隐藏在视线之外的;青山白水互相缠绕，视野之外的景物与高天相连，向四面眺望都是一样。然后知道这座山的卓然耸立，不与小丘同类。心神无穷无尽地与天地间的大气融合，没有谁知道它们的边界;无边无际，与大自然游玩，不知道它们的尽头。拿起酒杯来倒满酒，喝醉得身子倾倒，不知道太阳落山了。昏暗的晚色，从远处来临，来了就什么也看不见了，但还不想回家。心神凝住了，形体消散了，与万物暗暗地融合为一体。然后才知道我以前的游览不能算做游览，真正的游览从这一次才开始。所以为这次游览写了篇文章作为记述。

这年，是元和四年。

呱呱小儿，但饮牛湩(dòng)，至於弱冠，不明犍状。佌佌(cǐ)之豚，日食其羓(bā)。洎(jì)其成立，未识豜豭(jiān jiā)。每啮毚(chán)臑(nào)，然竟不知其夋兔(qun，同狡兔，见韩愈之《毛颖传》)之三窟也。方彼之时，窋(zhú)诧之态，非闠闠(huánhuì)之中所得见也。

君不见斵(zhuó)楩(pián)焚樟，岵(hù)之为屺(qǐ)，睇眄(miàn)之下，万山尽屼(wù)，百尺篔(yún)簹，化为竹著。於彼幼蛇，匌(gé)不盈寸，巴蛇王虺(huǐ)，尽化柈(pán)馐。玈(lu)气烰烰，上格瑶池，贫地徕贾，以丰其赀(zī)。然千丈方圆，莱菔不生，九天之上，星河不见。

呜呼!漫山设棙，遍地尽罘。此天灾也?人祸也!河海黟(yī)然，浊水仍倾，此天灾也?人祸也!斵木[算刂]竹，彍(guō)弮(juàn)待兽，以至鹿不得走，翬不得飞，蚁不得宭(qún)，髬髵不见。此天灾也?人祸也!

翕合沴(lì)气，终日涽涽。天不复蓝，水不复清。未有乌云，天何暝暝?赤乌既出，焜耀无复。看天下，鸟飞不下，鲜见狉狉，当此之时，何处貣青天?

所幸者，人知之也，人更之也。然，上作网法，下偩几何未可知也。

今天下多灾。北国井冞(shēn)，阵主复至，当与孔张俱歾(mò)。南域之霖，大禹洊存，只得扼腕而叹息。人不咎己而咎旱魃，不诮(qiào)己而诼共工。未之可也。闤闠所趋，不可恈恈。当思子孙后代，人己知之。然行之效，则体躆庙堂者思之，媕娿(ān ē)之徒，弃不婟(hù)嫪，国之大蠹，捐而必究。

吾所思者，河泮水墺，杨槐蓁蓁，町疃(tuǎn)，柳榆其秝(lì)。苾葌柅柅游屮(chè)葳蕤，见柳而人不攦，视草而众不蹸，日驾双軑(dai)之车，斐斐闾巷之间，目不复睺，鼻不再鼽(qiú)，鸟不惊人，鲋游沴然。

人者，天地孕育。今其反万物，此獍也。今其不宜瞡瞡，遗祸搙 孙，当修长远之道以藾万世。

今吾执笔於此，所思者，舍旁早蟠一株，今当唪唪，攲枝水上，当复驾舴艋，扌玄其落桃，投於苙。坐银杏树下，观儿童嬉於树下，延於砖祴(gāi)，搤(è)腕而惜水中未置菱藕几株。燠(yù)热之时，而可摘菱冣(zuì)菂，爇之为饘(zhān)，以奉亲房。

哎!人们漫山遍野地设下捕兽的机关和抓兔子的网。这是天灾吗?是人祸啊!河海里的水已变得漆黑，各种废水还在不断向其中排放。这是天灾吗?是人祸啊!砍木伐竹，张弓等兽，以至鹿不能奔跑，鸟不能自由飞翔，蚂蚁不能群居，野兽鬃毛竖起也不能看见。这是天灾吗?是人祸啊!

人们呼吸着浊气，整天昏昏沉沉。天不再蓝，水不再清澈。没有乌云，天空为何阴沉?旭日升起，太阳光彩明亮的样子也不复存在。看人间，鸟飞而不敢落下，很少能看见野兽成群奔跑，在这样的时候，到哪里去能乞求到青天?

庆幸的是人知道这种灾难，人能够改变这样的状况。然而，国家制定法令，民众有几个能遵守执行，就无法知道了。

这次寒假，我们一家人到石浦大酒店聚餐，一共有十人。因为已经在网上订好了餐，所以直接就可以上菜了。我们看到，圆桌的正中央竖立着一块标语：“请按照人数点菜，杜绝浪费，本餐厅提供免费打包。”这让我想起了杨老师说的“光盘行动”，意思是不要浪费资源。打包不仅可以不浪费资源，还方便携带，把美味佳肴带回家。可是许多人都以为打包是小气的行为，认为不打包就非常大气，那你就大错特错了了。

其实，打包是一项节约环保的好事，并不是小家子气的节省、吝啬。现在，全国都在提倡环保行动，不浪费资源，还有的电视台还在跟踪报道呢!

前几天，一家电视台报道说，一次年会，有一家公司仗着用的是公款，点了一桌子的菜，年会结束后，记者看到满桌的菜，几乎都是没怎么动过!他们不应该点那么多的菜却不吃，更不该因为用公款而浪费!人们越来越浪费，浪费掉的不仅是资源，还有劳动人民的心!我们要杜绝浪费，争取把饭菜吃完，也不要挑食，并劝说自己身边的亲朋好友，一起争做城市的文明人，不浪费!

南无乐队《好了歌》领唱新版红楼梦首映

应新版《红楼梦》片方及导演邀请，北京视袭音乐旗下势头看涨的南无乐队带着几天前刚刚改编制作完成的新版《红楼梦》电视剧插曲《好了歌》，登上了北京卫视新版《红楼梦》电视剧首映典礼的舞台。 《好了歌》堪称《红楼梦》古典文学经典中的经典。《好了歌》宣扬的是一种远离现实的虚无主义思想，好既是了，了既是好，表达的是佛教的“万事到头都成空，及早抽身了尘缘”的思想。

新版红楼梦片方表示，“南无乐队不管从音乐作品还是乐队气质来讲，都蕴藏着浓厚的传统文化元素，加之他们一直以来对佛学文化的研习经历和感悟，非常契合《好了歌》在音乐呈现上的诉求。另外，南无乐队作为当代中国青年人的鲜活代表，邀请他们参与到新版《红楼梦》的相关创作工作中，也希望能从他们身上得到一些关于新版红楼梦的直接反馈。这样有助于让观众能在新的红楼中感受恰到好处的音乐，更能全面感受新红楼。

永和九年，正值癸丑，暮春三月上旬的巳日，我们在会稽郡山阴县的兰亭集会，举行禊饮之事。此地德高望重者无不到会，老少济济一堂。兰亭这地方有崇山峻岭环抱，林木繁茂，竹篁幽密。又有清澈湍急的溪流，如同青罗带一般映衬在左右，引溪水为曲水流觞，列坐其侧，即使没有管弦合奏的盛况，只是饮酒赋诗，也足以令人畅叙胸怀。这一天，晴明爽朗，和风习习，仰首可以观览浩大的宇宙，俯身可以考察众多的物类，纵目游赏，胸襟大开，极尽耳目视听的欢娱，真可以说是人生的一大乐事。

人们彼此亲近交往，俯仰之间便度过了一生。有的人喜欢反躬内省，满足于一室之内的晤谈;有的人则寄托于外物，生活狂放不羁。虽然他们或内或外的取舍千差万别，好静好动的性格各不相同，但当他们遇到可喜的事情，得意于一时，感到欣然自足时，竟然都会忘记衰老即将要到来之事。等到对已获取的东西发生厌倦，情事变迁，又不免会引发无限的感慨。以往所得到的欢欣，很快就成为历史的陈迹，人们对此尚且不能不为之感念伤怀，更何况人的一生长短取决于造化，而终究要归结于穷尽呢!古人说："死生是件大事。"这怎么能不让人痛心啊!

This school used to be called Lijiazhuang School. Most of its pupils left school because their families were too poor to pay for their education. The only unsafe schoolhouse had to be used as classrooms.And all the teachers shared one room. The playground was nothing but an open land.Things are different now. All the children who left school have come to continue their studies. In the schoolyard stands a two-storeyed teaching building. There are rooms for music, art and com-puter teaching. Generally, war is repugnant, but peace is welcome. While peace is the ultimate goal of all of our undertaking in this world, war has been inevitable in the course of human civilization. Does man have an innate taste for war? Or is it just an acquired scheme learned from human society? We only know that there hasn"t been any period in the history during which the world was really at peace. Human beings pursue peace and prosperity through the establishment of families, communities, and nations. Why should we let all these be destroyed by wars?
