During this Spring Festival, I have a good time. First of all, I did so well in the final exam that makes my parents very happy. They say that it’s their best gift for the New Year. 这几天不仅大人忙，而且小孩也不嫌着，把自己偷偷藏的私房钱拿出来，跑到小卖部买烟花爆竹。男孩子特别爱买鞭炮，他们总喜欢做恶作剧，在别人身后偷偷放一个鞭炮，经常有很多人被他们吓倒，可他们却“咯咯咯”笑着离开。我们女孩却和他们不一样，喜欢玩烟花，所以都会买很多的烟花，等到除夕时再用。

大年三十除夕到了，大人都赶做年菜，我们小孩则穿着新衣服到处乱跑。一会儿到这家看看有什么年菜，回去和大人们“打小报告”;一会儿又到那家偷几片香肠，说是几片，却塞得满嘴都是;一会又到另一家，搞恶作剧。

到了晚上，一家人围着桌子吃团圆饭。在年菜当中，那红红的大闸蟹是我们小孩子的最爱，大人们则举着杯子，喝老酒呢!

吃完饭，我们女孩把买的烟花拿出来，点燃后，烟花如一颗颗璀璨的星星，在深蓝的夜空中显得格外美丽。每年的这个时候，家家都会燃放烟花，一个个小火球窜上天空，只听见“嘭“的一声，撞开一朵朵花。

就北京地区来说，从腊月初八家家户户要泡腊八醋(蒜)，就开始有了“年味”。民谣讲：“老太太别心烦，过了腊八就是年。腊八粥，喝几天?哩哩啦啦二十三……”，腊月二十三又称“小年”。有一首歌谣唱道：“糖瓜祭灶，新年来到，丫头要花，小子要炮……”。从这一天开始，北京人更加忙活了，要祭灶，扫房子，蒸馒头，置办年货，贴“福”字，贴年画，剪窗花，贴对联。贴门神，贴挂钱，一直忙活到除夕，开始过大年。

The Spring Festival is my most favorite festival, because it’s time for family gathering. And the Spring Festival is a new start of a year. It brings me hope and courage. On Spring Festival, my parents usually take me back to my hometown. My hometown is a small town. Many of my relatives move to the larger cities, but we usually go home when the Spring Festival comes. Last years Spring Festival is special. My uncle and my aunt came back from Shanghai. My family were very happy to spend the Spring Festival with them. And it was the most exciting festival of all the festivals.

我展开了纸条，哈哈，空空如也。

Food between China and Western countries are totally different styles. China has 5000 years history. We probably spend half of time on food. Chinese people choice food very carefully. They only use fresh material to make food. For example they only eat fresh fish.

Chinese have a lot of ideas and techniques for cooking. We can cook a chicken in over ten ways. That’s why Chinese food is so popular in the world. Western country like English or American, they don’t have fresh food because they buy their food from supermarket which only sells stored materials. Western people would also prefer fast food like burgers and chips.

They are unhealthy to human body. Western people do not have many skills for cooking, mostly they only boil, steam and bake the food. By the way, western people are very good at making desert and chocolate. They can make very good cake and chocolate. They are very sweet but it’s sort of food which make you become fat quickly.

the lunar new year is a great occasion to the chinese people. it lasts about the first four days of the year， during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. students do not go to school， and shops are closed.

several days before the new year， people begin to prepare. farmers kill pigs， sheep， cocks and hens. city dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. houses are cleaned; coupletsare posted on the doors. colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

on the eve of the new year， each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. after the meal they watch tv until the clock strickes twelve. then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fire works to welcome the new year. on the first day of the new year， almost everyone is dressed in his or her best. when people meet on the way， they say to each other "happy new year". friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. children indulge themselves in games.
