这本书的作者是英国着名的女作家夏洛蒂·勃朗特，而此书也算是她的代表作。书当中主要讲述了简爱的勇于反抗的一生。简爱是个孤女，寄住在李德家，并受尽了李德家的各种欺辱。当简爱准备进入渥德学校读书时，李德太太竟撒谎告诉布斯先生说她是个爱撒谎的小孩，然后谣言传布开了，简爱也因此受人排挤，只有田普尔相信她是被冤枉的，并帮他洗刷了冤屈。简爱在渥德学校当了六年的学生，二年的老师，然后离开了这所学校，找了一份家庭教师的职业。在那里，她受尽了温暖和理想的待遇，并对庄主罗彻先生有了好感。谁知，好景不长，罗彻先生的妻子竟然出现了，而她还背负着悲惨的婚姻。简爱选择了离开。在她新的旅途当中，她认识了约翰、戴安娜、马莉这三兄妹，并且受到了他们的照顾。而简爱终究惦记着罗彻先生，并且决定重新去找他。她回到了她担任家教的地方，意外地得知罗彻先生那位患有精神病的妻子放火烧了这个庄，罗彻先生也因此眼睛瞎了。然而简爱并没有嫌弃他，她留在他身边照顾了他一身。

看完后，我深深的吸了一口气。这个曲折的故事让我意犹未尽，而简爱倔强的性格，独立的个性更是将我震撼。简爱从小寄人篱下，上学时还被冤枉，受尽了冷眼相待。然而她并没有屈服于现状，而是敢于去面对现实，即使是被虐待，也得挺住。这点便是我喜欢简爱的理由。一个人可以受到屈辱，但不能不去反抗，否则生活也就没有了意义。简爱在那所曾让她受尽艰苦的学校整整呆了八年，这让我又对她更敬佩了。简爱她有着广阔的胸襟，可以不计前嫌，重新对待每一样事物。然后当她来到了松德庄——一个十分美丽的庄院，当家教时，让她体会最深的也就是那儿格外善良的人了。无论是和蔼可亲的女管家菲尔太太，还是活泼可爱的学生黛拉，都让她感到前所未有的温馨。

而她得知罗彻先生的妻子仍在世时，她又毅然离开了，离开了这个充满温馨的庄院。后来当简爱得知罗彻先生受伤，又选择了终身陪在他身边照顾他。简爱就是那么一个直爽的人，敢作敢当，想好了就不再去改变主意。而这也成了让人们喜欢简爱的一大理由。看来夏洛蒂所塑造的这个人物也算是格外成功的了。

看完了《简爱》，让我对简爱这么个人也充满了敬佩之情。我想，我将来也得当一个像简爱这样的人。

每个人的生活境遇不同，你无法把自己的观念强加给别人。我们也无法选择自己的出身，却可以选择往后如何继续生活。任何人都没有权力让别人为自己放弃什么，这无异于谋杀。而马车中这样的一行人心安理得的接受“羊脂球”的好，又违背她的意愿，逼迫她去做不愿的事。可笑的是这群人做错了事，还要找一个冠冕堂皇的借口。那位老修女和伯爵夫人成了同谋者，“以她之见，只要意图良好，做什么都不会触恼天主。”同时还要为“但问目的，莫管手段”的道德格言作一番富有教化力的诠释。
