Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays。 It is sometimes called the "Lunar New Year" by English speakers。 The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival。 Chinese New Years Eve is known as chú xī。 It literally means "Year-pass Eve"。

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Lunar Calendar。 The origin of Chinese New Year is itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions。 Ancient Chinese New Year is a reflection on how the people behaved and what they believed in the most。

Celebrated in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese， Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors， as well as cultures with whom the Chinese have had extensive interaction。 These include Koreans (Seollal)， Tibetans and Bhutanese (Losar)， Mongolians (Tsagaan Sar)， Vietnamese (T?t)， and formerly the Japanese before 1873 (Oshogatsu)。 Outside of Mainland China， Hong Kong， Macau， and Taiwan， Chinese New Year is also celebrated in countries with significant Han Chinese populations， such as Singapore， Indonesia， Laos， Malaysia， the Philippines， and Thailand。 In countries such as Australia， Canada and the United States， although Chinese New Year is not an official holiday， many ethnic Chinese hold large celebrations and Australia Post， Canada Post， and the US Postal Service issues New Years themed stamps。

Within China， regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely。 People will pour out their money to buy presents， decoration， material， food， and clothing。 It is also the tradition that every family thoroughly cleans the house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good ining luck。 Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of “happiness”， “wealth”， and “longevity”。 On the Eve of Chinese New Year， supper is a feast with families。 Food will include such items as pigs， ducks， chicken and sweet delicacies。 The family will end the night with firecrackers。 Early the next morning， children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year， and receive money in red paper envelopes。 The Chinese New Year tradition is a great way to reconcile forgetting all grudges， and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone。

Although the Chinese calendar traditionally does not use continuously numbered years， outside China its years are often numbered from the reign of Huangdi。 But at least three different years numbered 1 are now used by various scholars， making the year 2009 "Chinese Year" 4707， 4706， or 4646。

于是有了燃鞭炮的习俗，这其实也是烘托热闹场面的又一种方式。

节日的热烈气氛不仅洋溢在各家各户，也充满各地的大街小巷，一些地方的街市上还有舞狮子，耍龙灯，演社火，游花市，逛庙会等习俗。这期间花灯满城，游人满街，热闹非凡，盛况空前，直要闹到正月十五元宵节过后，春节才算真正结束了。

时间过得好快啊，眨眼间春节就要来了。要知道春节是我们中国农历的新年，所以过年对我们中国人而言非常重要的！因此，春节前的准备也是必不可少的。

过年了！过年了！每家每户都在忙着贴春联，剃头发，做年夜饭……这是过年的习俗！有些习俗还很怪，无奈之下，我就去问正在贴春联的妈妈。

我看见妈妈将“福”字倒着贴，我固然知道为什么要倒着贴，将‘福’字倒着贴是一种习俗，‘福’倒贴说明‘福’倒（到）了！但我仍然问道：“过年有什么习俗和规矩啊？”妈妈停下手中的活，耐心地给我谈起来。

原来，以前过年还有一种放鞭炮的习俗，来源于“年兽”的故事。很久以前有一只“年兽”，长期居住深海底，到了除夕就跃出海面到处作恶。有一年一个老人用放炮，穿红衣，贴红春联的方法驱赶走“年兽”，这才得以平静，此后这个方法就流传开来。但是现在广州禁止燃放烟花爆竹，所以我们就不再进行这个活动了。

除夕这一天对我国来说是极为重要的。这天晚上，我们全家准备除旧迎新，吃团年饭。

吃年夜饭，是春节中每家每户最热闹愉快的时候。大年夜。丰盛的年菜摆满一桌 ，全家团聚，围坐桌旁，共吃团圆饭。人们既是享受满桌的佳肴，也是享受那份快乐的气氛，桌上有鸡、鹅、烧肉等等，一般少不了两样东西，一是火锅，一是鱼。火锅热气腾腾，说明红红火火；“鱼”和“余”谐音，喻意“年年有余”。最后一道甜食，祝福往后的日子甜甜蜜蜜。

今天我的收获太大了，知道了很多过年习俗的知识，不过我觉得有点迷信，但这又仿佛是一种乐趣，只要快乐就好，何必迷信不迷信？更何况这是传统的习俗，宁可信其有不可信其无啊！

春节是我国一个古老的节日，也是一年中最重要的一个节日。在中国千百年的历史发展中，还有一些较为固定的习俗习惯相传至今。比如，扫尘、贴春联、贴窗花、倒贴“福”字、画年画和守岁等等。

“腊月二十四，掸尘扫房子”，在古书《吕氏春秋》中记载，我国在尧舜时代就有春节扫尘的习俗习惯了，此外，扫尘还有“除陈布新”的含义。

春联也叫对联、桃符，它以对偶、精巧的文字抒发美好的愿望，是咱们中国独特的文学形式。春节贴春联这一习俗起源于宋代，春联分为上联、下联和横批。

“福”字，指的是福气、福运，春节贴“福”字是为了表达对亲朋好友的一种祝福。可是为了更充分地体现这种祝福，人们干脆把“福”字倒过来贴，表示“福‘倒’了”。

现在春节挂贴年画在城乡已很是普遍，浓黑重彩的年画给家家户户带去了兴旺和欢乐的喜庆场面。我国收藏最早的年画是南宋《隋朝窈窕呈倾国之芳容》的木刻年画，画的是王昭君、赵飞燕、班姬和绿珠四位古代美人。

开门炮：初一凌晨，家家户户第一件事是争先恐后打“开门炮”，全城一片爆竹声，象征送旧迎新和接福，俗谓“接年”。打“开门炮”也有惯例，一般是先放小鞭炮一串，称“百子炮”;再放双声大爆竹，大爆竹只放三发，意谓可解除一年的疫疠灾晦，并表示接新年。要求三发都响，声音宏亮清脆，最为吉祥。俗信打“开门炮”越早越好，象征今年随便做什么事都会顺利，如意发财，种田人会五谷丰登。有些地方在打开门炮时，还口中念念有辞：“开大门，放大炮;财亦到，喜亦到。”一般鞭炮的外皮和里皮均一色通红，燃放后纸花满地，灿中云锦，形成了满堂瑞色，喜气洋洋。现在放鞭炮在城镇已被禁止，但在农村和渔岛上仍可燃放。

拜六神：打过开门炮，各家男女穿新衣。主妇烧佛茶，以江西瓷碗盛各种祭品，供于香案。中堂悬挂祖宗图像，先拜祖宗，再拜六神(灶神、檐头神、白虎爷、井神、土地神、财神)。民间认为这六位神祗，是每家的保护神，新年祭拜，主要祈求全年人口平安，家业兴旺。

接三神：拜过六神后，又在中庭摆起小方桌，盛米一碗，盖以红纸，周围粘固，端放桌上，烧香点烛，虔诚膜拜，叫做“接三神”(即道教的玉清、上清、太清)，祭后移到室内，直到正月初四，才送神撤座。

拜祖：旧时正月初一中午，在洞头县，各家要祭拜祖宗。其仪式由家庭主妇主持。先列供品，摆好酒盅、筷子，在酒蛊里斟上黄酒。在神位和供桌中间要摆一条长椅，然后点起红烛，并在祖先、三官大帝、土地神、灶神等所有神龛香炉上焚香。待红烛燃过四分之三左右或香引将焚完，此时开始烧“金纸”(一种贴着金箔，折成元宝状的纸钱，俗信经过念经才有效)，放鞭炮。最后撤馔，撤馔前要先移动供桌前的椅子。拜祖时，供桌上的礼品不准动;凡祭拜过的供品，除糕点果品外，均要重新煮过或经蒸气热过才能吃。否则，都认为是对神灵、祖宗的不敬。

行香：正月初一清早，旧有“行香”之俗。全城文武官员，冠带乘舆，全副执事，鸣锣开道，到各庙宇行香，威仪甚盛，每家老年人和当家人天未亮，便已沐浴更衣，竞先赶到社庙或附近寺院里开殿门和烧头香，点香灯，有的甚至索性除夕不睡，在庙宇守等。亥时一过，赶紧烧香，表示虔诚。俗信第一个人赶到点上香最为吉利，故有争先点第一双蜡烛习俗。俗语说：“谁人最早开殿门，今年一定赚大银。”老年人到各庙宇拜殿神，主要祈祷保佑新年吉利，全家平安。但由于阶层、行业、性别、年龄等不同，来拜神者络绎不绝，有求做生意发财的，有求农业丰收的，有求子续嗣，等等。较大的庙宇如东瓯王庙，拜神者要给庙祝红包，如祈祷灵验，每年初一有钱者，要用重达百余斤的大蜡烛还愿。

开正：旧时在洞头岛，每户人家三十夜守岁到寅卯时左右，都要举行“开正”仪式。由家中尊长或家庭中生产生活的掌管人主持。主持者要“净身”(即除夕夜要戒色)并全身沐浴，“开正”前不得接触污秽之物。案桌摆大门口或天井里，桌脚上要垫两条长凳使案桌高地升高。供品有三牲、鱼肉、水果、糕点、素面等，两旁有一对尺长的大红烛，俗称“通宵”。“开正”时，主持者点燃“通宵”，焚香三柱后，全家跪地，合掌问天，进行虔诚祷告，祈求上天赐福，保佑全家在新的一年里平安、发财、万事如意。祈祷毕，全家肃立，默待一会儿，再烧“金纸”鸣放鞭炮。最后撤馔。80年代以来，已把“开正”时间提前到午夜零时，伴着中央电视台敲响的新年钟声进行。仪式也简便多了，有的只是鸣鞭炮，放焰火。但鸣放的鞭炮多了，尤其是“百子炮”，甚至几千响串在一起，声音响，时间长，热闹异常。

拜茶：正月初一早上，在洞头岛上至今还保留了一种叫拜茶的习俗。拜茶即以红枣、桂圆、年糕等煮成甜茶谓“红枣茶”，取其吉利之意：红枣--日子越过越红火，桂圆--合家团圆、平安顺利，年糕--步步登高。“拜茶”分两部分：一是拜祖宗，盛小碗，供于灶神像前;二是拜灶神，都要焚香燃烛、烧金纸、放鞭炮。拜茶之后，全家每人各盛一碗喝。因新年第一餐是喝汤的，所以，在以后的日子里，或出门在外，或在家干活儿，若遇雨受阻，人们便会以“正月初一喝汤的”这话自嘲。喝过茶后，还要再烧线面吃，俗谓“长寿面”，既是图吉利，祝愿全家老小长命百岁，又因喝茶不够饱，作为添食，可收一举两得之效。

早点：正月初一早餐，温州人喜欢吃松糕(一种炊蒸而成的甜年糕)。吃时，把松糕切成薄片，再将酱油肉中的肥肉也切成薄片，嵌在两片松糕之间，吃起来甜中带咸，别有风味。也有吃汤圆，或者煮一碗粉丝，上面放一个煮熟的蛋。这些食物均含“年年高”、“团圆”的象征意义。有的人家以过年饭杂煮，兼吃捣糕和松糕。在平阳，吃年糕和汤圆，有的先喝红糖汤，后加面和鸡蛋;在泰顺，主妇沏糖茶，蒸糖糕，端出菜头(盐渍萝卜)给合家“嘴头甜，彩彩头好”。惟乐清雁荡一带，则吃棕子。除夕夜，每家要煮一锅米粽，等岁首之日早起，全家食用。据说，吃粽子有两义，一是因为粽和“宗”同音，取怀念祖宗之意;二是因为粽又和“中”字同音，取功名得中之意。在乐清，一般人家用红枣、柿饼、汤圆。在乐清白石镇，初一晚餐吃汤包、糊邋羹、状元糕。入睡时，床前摆鞋，求天宫赐福。在市区春节期间，客来有献元宝茶的习俗，即在茶中放两枚鲜橄榄，不仅茶味清香，旦见在黄绿色茶汤中漂浮着橄榄，形如元宝，俗称“元宝茶”，含新年吉祥、发财的彩头。点心有用圆眼肉或莲子、红枣，也有肉丸、鸡蛋加粉丝的。

拜年：初一晨起，先在家内，晚辈按序向长辈叩拜行礼，称“拜年”。从初二起，邻里和亲友之间，往来拜节。如相遇于途，长揖道贺(今点头握手问好)，也有彼此合掌胸口称“拜年”。到各家登门互贺新喜，亦叫“拜年”、“拜岁”。先是下辈出门到长辈家拜年，然后平辈回拜，则称“回年”。新婚夫妇初到岳家拜年，称“拜头年”，后辈到丧事人家拜年称“拜新年”。

按旧习，温州人正月初一不走亲戚。拜年时间一般是初二到初十或延至十五。在苍南，叫“探正月”，到一般亲戚家里去，都要带礼品。50年代以前，农产品比较简单，大多是桂圆、荔枝、红枣、元枣、红糖、柿饼等，用特种草纸包上，上面封有红纸(有的印有祝贺新年的花边字样)，故称“纸蓬包”，又名“高包”、“红包”。每包装礼品半斤左右，需要送多少包，则根据所走的亲戚情况所定。旧时南货店，每逢春节，买红包的人特多。从十二月二十起，每晚9时后，店员们就忙着包红包到深夜，每人还能吃上一碗芥菜炒年糕当夜餐。生意好的话，要包到元宵节之后。有的店在一个红包内只装二十多个红枣。说来可笑，经过东家送西家，西家再送南家……，最后，包破了，包中红枣被孩子们挖个洞摸着吃了，有时只剩一个，还在送来送去。

在永嘉楠溪江中下游一带，在刚结婚的第一个春节，女婿到岳父母家拜年，要做米饼，俗叫“送上门饼”。用白米磨粉炊熟，放在石臼里捣腻，揉成米块，然后放在木雕成的模具内，印成一个个圆而扁的米饼，正面有图案，如双仙和合、刘海献钱、状元象等人物。数量要做一担，约50双到100双。除此以外，还要有猪肉、松糕、长寿面(索面)等。

在文成，拜年叫“貌年”。旧时，如带来满周岁的小孩去“貌”外婆外公，一般择三、六、九之日，谓之“三六九无忌”。出门时，在小孩眉心及鼻尖上画上朱红或黑墨，意避“小鬼”冲犯。正月初四，民间大都不出行，不干活，因与“死”谐音，说闽南话的人，对正月初九有忌。因“九”与“狗”谐音。
