There are 10 numbered lines, each of which may have one mistake. You have to decide firstly whether there is a mistake or not. If not, put a tick in the numbered blank. If there is a mistake, you may have to add a word, cross out a word, or change word. You have to find out the mistakes in the use of words and/or grammar. Sometimes there may be a logic problem, which would be the most difficult.
Last time I got 7 points less than expected. Why? I didn’t put the answers strictly following the rule, although I did know how to do it.

老爸记性有一点点儿差(可能人到中年，要考虑的问题太多吧)。有一次，我听完英语磁带后拿出钢笔请他在小本上签字(老师布置的作业)，他看了看钢笔，疑惑地问我：“这钢笔你从哪儿弄的?”
我一听笑了。“这笔不是你得的奖品，专送给我的吗!”老爸恍然大悟，连连点头。唉，老爸连自己发的钢笔都要问从哪儿弄来的，他的记性确实有点儿“问题”。
我老爸还有一个最大的缺点，那就是总自以为是，认为只有自己是对的。如果他说一句话，你认为不对，要是你对老爸说一句“你说错了”，马上，一大堆所谓的“大道理”就会向你迎面扑来，这就是我老爸说的“抬杠”。如果你再反击几句，他就会越“抬”越起劲，唾沫星子都能把你给淹死，直到把你“抬”得张口结舌，一点儿“反击”的能力都没有。我老爸的“学识”很“渊博”吧!
老爸也有许多优点。他喜欢运动，特别是打篮球和踢足球。每天早晨老爸都早早地起床打篮球，一年四季;夏天，周末没事的时候，老爸也好约上几个好友一起去操场踢足球……
老爸平时对我总是笑眯眯的，但我犯错误的时候，爸爸对我十分严厉(极少数的时候)。他常说“子不教，父之过”。有一次，我拿了两角钱(父母不知道)到瘸子那儿买了零食吃，正好被老爸逮个正着，中午吃饭的时候，把我锁在门外。“人要脸，树要皮”，站在外面被人看见了一点儿面子也没有，只好有人来的时候就装作没带钥匙，轻轻地敲门。大约过了一个小时(也许20分钟)，经过妈妈求情，我终于得以进家。事后我想：打是亲，骂是爱，不管不问要变坏。下次不犯错误就可以了。

好不容易熬到了精忠，我迈着沉重的步伐向考场走去。考场是一个多功能厅，差不多有二百多人，有8个摄像头，5个老师监考。我按照报名卡上的号码找到座位，安静地做好，准备好学习工具，大脑却一直在迅速回忆着昨晚记的古诗词。
考试开始了，我先做的数学试卷，后做的语文。数学有一题填空题较难，可最后还是被我解了。语文并不难，我再瞅一眼，是写事的，前面的字词全没问题。我快速答题，写完之后又检查了一遍，感觉没什么问题，我刚想歇一会儿，谁知道时间到了，我把试卷送走，就迈着轻松的步伐，朝着大门跑去……

The sky is gray instead of blue. To our delight, the government has passed some laws of protecting the air, and we can do something useful, too. Of course doing that only by one person is far from enough, but we can let more people do that together. In that case the result may be more than we bargained for.

I want to be a volunteer in 2008, to be an interpreter. For now, I must do something helpful to improve my spoken English. Rome isn’t build in a day, so is English. It can’t be improved in a day or two. It takes time and energy. There are no shortcuts to improve your spoken English; the most productive way is to grab all opportunities around you to open your mouth. For instance, taking part in all kinds of English contests is a good way, you can meet some excellent contestants, and you can share the experience of learning and some good method of learning. I will keep participating in all English activities to polish up my English. I’m sure by the year of 2008, I will be able to master English well just as my mother tongue.
