As his reward，the Heavenly Queen Mother gave Hou Yi the Elixir of Immortality，but she warned him that he must use it wisely. Hou Yi ignored her advice and，corrupted by fame and fortune，became a tyrannical leader. Chang-Er，his beautiful wife， could no longer stand by and watch him abuse his power so she stole his Elixir and fled to the moon to escape his angry wrath. And thus began the legend of the beautiful woman in the moon，the Moon Fairy.

The second legend has it that during the Yuan Dynasty，an underground group led by Zhu Yuan Zang was determined to rid the country of Mongolian dominance. The moon cake was created to carry a secret message. When the cake was opened and the message read，an uprising was unleashed which successfully routed the Mongolians. It happened at the time of the full moon，which，some say，explains why mooncakes are eaten at this time. Mooncakes are usually stamped with Chinese characters indicating the name of the bakery and the type of filling used. They are usually presented in boxes of four which indicate the four phases of the moon. 关于吃月饼这个传统的来历有两个传说。一个是唐朝的神话故事，说的是当时地球被10个太阳包围着。有一天10个太阳同时出现在天空中，巨大的热量几乎把地球烤焦了。多亏一位名叫后羿的神箭手射下了9个太阳，地球才被保住。为了奖励后羿，王母娘娘赐给后羿一种长生不老药，但是王母警告他必须正当使用。然而后羿没有理会王母娘娘的警告，他被名利冲昏了头脑，变成了一个暴君。后羿美丽的妻子嫦娥对他的暴行再也不能袖手旁观，于是她偷走了后羿的长生不老药，飞到月亮上逃避后羿的狂怒。从此就有了关于月宫仙子嫦娥，这个月亮上的美丽女人的传说。

第二个传说讲的是在元朝，朱元璋领导的起义军计划起义来摆脱蒙古族的统治。他们用月饼来传递密信。掰开月饼就可以找到里面的密信，起义军通过这种方式成功的发动了起义，赶走了元朝的统治者。这场起义发生在八月十五之时，于是中秋节吃月饼的习俗便在民间传开来

I am very happy,because the Mid-autumn Festival is coming.During the days,there are manymoon cakes.I love eating moon cake very much.There are various tastes,such as sweet,saltand so on.I like the sweet ones,especially the fruit-filled moon cakes.My parents always buy many for me,because they know I like moon cakes.Besides,moon cake has good moral.Itsymbolizes reunion.When I eat the moon cake,I often think of my big family and my relatives.

一如其它传统佳节，越华同胞数百年来仍保持着中秋佳节独特的文化、风俗、礼节，包括吃月饼及玩花灯。

每年，在端午节过后不久，本市的一些大小饼家已开始陆续向市场推出了月饼。尤其是到了农历七月份，月饼争相上市，走在街道上均可见到许多售月饼的店铺，在其中大部分是老字号饼家的月饼，亦有一些近年才在市场走俏的品牌。月饼的样式及内涵可谓琳琅满目。为了取得消费者的信任，各饼家一直都在产品质量、价格方面作竞争。虽然尚有一小部分生产上混水摸鱼，偷工减料，生产不合卫生标准的月饼，可是绝大多数的饼家都努力擦亮自己的招牌，引进新式生产工艺作业，务求做到货真价实，因为他们知道，消费者的眼睛是雪亮的。

月饼除美味可口之外，若是稍加留心，您会发觉，连月饼的命名，也是充满文化韵味，甚至有的还富诗情画意，如：莲蓉蛋王馅月饼取名为“寳鸭穿莲”;绿豆馅单王取名为“凤凰月夜”，双王则为“双凤朝阳”;香叶绿豆双王馅，取名为“翡翠凤凰”或“翡翠双凤月”;黑豆沙蛋王馅美名为“云开见月”或是“乌云盖月”等，还有上等伍仁(什锦)为“五福临门”;一盒多个月饼取名为“六月星辉”、“七星伴月”、“八仙贺寿”; “风雅圆月”等等，给月饼起名亦是一种学问，把月饼点缀、美化。只要到月饼的命名，足已令人垂涎三尺了。

一年容易又中秋，若在中秋节当晚，沏上一壶香茶，一边赏月，一边吃月饼和品茗，或看着小孩子们提着花灯玩乐，既诗情又画意，真是人生莫大快事!

尤其难得的是，体谅贫苦人家孩子处境，不少公司、单位、机关，还为孤儿、流浪儿及清贫子弟们组织中秋晚会，给他们送月饼，花灯让所有的人都能欢度中秋!

中秋节到了，我们童星作文乐园举办了一场丰盛的中秋宴会。同学们带着各种各样的月饼来参加这次宴会，有洗沙月饼、火腿月饼，还有黄澄澄的五仁月饼。

老师宣布宴会开始，我迫不及待地拿起一个五仁月饼，轻轻地撕包装袋，月饼和包装袋摩擦的声音很悦耳，只见红褐色的外壳上有些奇怪的图形，用手轻轻一摸，感觉很松软，很油，托在掌心里沉甸甸的，轻轻闻一下，一股诱人的香味扑鼻而来，让人忍不住垂涎欲滴，真想一口把它吞进肚里。

接下来是我们大显身手的时候了，我们要把月饼装饰得漂漂亮亮的，给人一种美的享受。

我们小组制作的是双龙火焰套餐，首先，我们要把绿油油的白菜放入盘中，然后把月饼放在白菜上，再用刀叉把苹果切成三块，放在蜡烛旁，再把葡萄放在月饼上，点上蜡烛，就完成了。

其他小组做了“小皇冠”、“美丽的花坛”、“月饼拼盘”等。

月饼大餐开始了，同学们向各式各样的月饼扑去，有的狼吞虎咽，有的细嚼慢咽，大家吃的津津有味，当然，我也不例外，好开心的一天，做梦都在笑。

晚上我和爷爷`奶奶`爸爸`妈妈一起一边吃着月饼一边欣赏着又圆又亮的明月。啊!今晚的月饼好丰盛啊：有哈密瓜的`有菠萝的`有五仁的`还有豆沙的，有甜的`有咸的`还有。。。。。。这么多各式各样的月饼谗的我直流口水。我选了一块豆沙的吃了起来，爷爷问我：“好吃吗?”我说：“太好吃了!”爷爷说：“你只知道好吃，你知道月饼的来历吗?”我奇怪的摇摇头“那好，我就给你讲讲吧”爷爷说：“月饼最初是用来祭奉月神的祭品，后来人们渐渐把中秋节赏月与品尝月饼，作为家人团圆的象征，它代表着平安`幸福，慢慢地月饼也成了节日的礼品了。”爷爷接着问：“你知道月饼名字的来历吗?”我又摇摇头，着急的催爷爷快讲，爷爷说：在很久以前，“月饼”也叫“胡饼，”据说有一年的中秋之夜，唐太宗和杨贵妃赏月吃胡饼，唐太宗嫌胡饼这个名字不好听，杨贵妃仰望着皎洁的明月，随口说出“月饼”，从此“月饼”的名字便在民间渐渐传开。听到这里，我对爷爷说：“月饼，不但好吃，原来还有这么故事啊!”

整个晚上，我都在津津有味的听爷爷讲有关月饼的各种传说，我都听的入了神。半夜里我还做了一个梦，梦见五十六个民族的小朋友都聚集在一起，他们每个人手里都捧着一块香喷喷的月饼，大家有说有笑在一起欢度中秋佳节呢!

The joyous Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth moon around the time of the autumn equinox(秋分). Many referred to it simply as the "Fifteenth of the Eighth Moon".

This day was also considered as a harvest festival since fruits vegetables and grain had been harvested by this time and food was abundant. Food offerings were placed on an altar set up in the courtyard. Apples pears peaches grapes pomegranates(石榴) melons oranges and pomelos(柚子) might be seen. Special foods for the festival included moon cakes cooked taro(芋头)and water caltrope(菱角) a type of water chestnut resembling black buffalo horns. Some people insisted that cooked taro be included because at the time of creation taro was the first food discovered at night in the moonlight. Of all these foods it could not be omitted from the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The round moon cakes measuring about three inches in diameter and one and a half inches in thickness resembled Western fruitcakes in taste and consistency. These cakes were made with melon seeds(西瓜子) lotus seeds(莲籽) almonds(杏仁) minced meats.
