民间认为分压岁钱给孩子，当恶鬼妖魔或“年”去伤害孩子时，孩子可以用这些钱贿赂它们而化凶为吉。此外，还有一种名副其实的压岁钱，是由晚辈给老人的，岁，就是年岁，岁数，压岁，意在期盼老人长寿。

听说在很久以前的宋代，人们就开始在桃木板上写对联，一则不失桃木镇邪的意义，二则表达自己美好心愿，三则装饰门户，以求美观。又在象征喜气吉祥的红纸上写对联，新春之际贴在门窗两边，用以表达人们祈求来年福运的美好心愿。然后一步步的演化，最后就变成了现在的纸质的、红色的、各式各样的有图画的对联了。

春节还有扫尘的习俗，按民间的说法：因“尘”与“陈”谐音，新春扫尘有“除陈布新”的涵义，其用意是要把一切穷运、晦气统统扫出门。这一习俗寄托着人们破旧立新的愿望和辞旧迎新的祈求。

除夕守岁是最重要的年俗活动之一，守岁之俗由来已久。最早记载见于西晋周处的《风土志》：除夕之夜，各相与赠送，称为“馈岁”;酒食相邀，称为“别岁”;长幼聚饮，祝颂完备，称为“分岁”;大家终夜不眠，以待天明，称曰“守岁”。除夕之夜，除了很小的孩子以外，其他所有人都要守岁。

除夕过后的第二天早晨大人带着小孩就都去拜年了。拜年是中国民间的传统习俗，是人们辞旧迎新、相互表达美好祝愿的一种方式。古时“拜年”一词原有的含义是为长者拜贺新年，包括向长者叩头施礼、祝贺新年如意、问候生活安好等内容。遇有同辈亲友，也要施礼道贺。

春节，中国北方没有人不吃饺子，但是，大家知道这饺子的来历么?和面的“和”字就是“合”的意思;饺子的“饺”和“交”谐音，“合”和“交”又有相聚之意，所以用饺子象征团聚合欢;又取更岁交子之意，非常吉利;此外，饺子因为形似元宝，过年时吃饺子，也带有“招财进宝”的吉祥含义。一家大小聚在一起包饺子，话新春，其乐融融。

There are many festivals in China. Among them, I like the Spring Festival most. Not only because it’s the biggest festival in the year, but also because it’s a new beginning that brings hope to people and it’s time for family gathering. Before the festival, people come home no matter where they are. Usually, we have a big dinner on the New Year’s Eve.

And then families sit together and share their lives or planes. Some will play games or hang out to have some fun. On the New Year’s Day, people get up early and say good words to anyone they meet. Children can get lucky money from relatives.

In the following days, we will visit relative’s home and bring New Year’s wishes to them. In short, it’s a time for family gathering and all of us enjoy it.

每当我看到粽子，我就会想起一次端午节我和奶奶包粽子的情景。 今天是端午节，我早早起床。我来到厨房，发现奶奶在包粽子。奶奶包粽子的技巧可真高明，两只长着老茧的手灵巧地拿着包前已经泡好的芦荟叶一捏一折一裹，再放一些被酱油沾过的大米，再把口子严严实时地封了起来，最后再用绳子把粽子包紧。就这样，一个粽子就在奶奶的手中诞生了。我十分好奇，也跟着奶奶学着包粽子。我迫不及待地拿起两片芦荟叶，学着奶奶的样子把芦荟叶折成一个椭圆形状，可是我怎么也折不出椭圆形状，在奶奶的帮助下，我终于勉强折出了椭圆形状，我再用芦荟叶封住。我想：哈哈，包粽子也太简单了吧。我拿出绳子把粽子一系。“终于完成了，这包粽子也太简单了吧。”就在我洋洋得意之时，粽子“散架”了，米粒漏了一地。奶奶对我说：“包粽子要认真，不能追求快速，奶奶也是做多了，熟能生巧，才做得快。”原来如此，我又再做了一次，这次我做得很认真，把芦荟叶折成椭圆后再放米，把口子用芦荟叶封的紧紧的，用绳子系好。终于，一个好粽子出于我手。我高兴极了，我又做了好几个粽子。奶奶把煮好的粽子从锅里拿出来，我吃着自己做的粽子，心里乐滋滋。尽管我做得不够好，但是我仍旧吃得很香。 端午节是我最喜欢的节日。每当我过端午节，我都会和奶奶去包粽子。去感受劳动的快乐。

There is also a huge difference between Chinese and Western people. Chinese people use chopsticks and western people use fork and knife. Usually people who use fork and knife will use fork to hold the meat and cut it by knife and use fork to help to get that piece of meat into mouse. Chinese just use chopstick to pick things and pass it into your mouse.

Chinese people only have three meals during a day. But western people will have more, they have afternoon tea. Usually they would have fruits, homemade cake, tea (black tea) or biscuit with cheese. If you are a housewife and have a lot of time, you may have morning tea as well.

I like spring festival because we are very happy on that day.Last festival we had a good time and I will never forget it.In the morning all my family were busy preparing for it.I helped to clean the house and my parents were cooking some delicious food.On that afternoon we had a big dinner.At night we made jiaozi and set off fireworks to celebrate the festival.In the meanwhile we watched TV.My parents gave me much lucky money.The next morning we said happy new year to everybody from door to door.
