It is reported that ten big cities in China are being ranked among the top twenty cities with the highest pollution index in the world. This means it is high time we did something to bring the situation under control.Many factors are contributing to the deteriorating situation: industrial wastes pumped into the air， the lakes and rivers; a increasing number of automobiles crowding into the streets; the widespread use of plastic bags etc.

To my view， stiffer laws and regulations must be implemented to check pollution. Industries that release wastes without permission should be heavily fined. 这几年我们的长江、黄河上游的人们砍伐树木，不保护环境，使得长江、黄河上游的水和土壤流失的很厉害，长江下游经常发洪水，黄河的水里有好多泥沙。我们新疆的塔里木河是我国最长的内陆河，塔里木河岸边的胡杨林是可以用来吸住泥土不会出现沙尘暴，可是人们在塔里木河的上游大面积开荒截水使得下游河水干枯，造成上百万亩的胡杨林死亡。至使本来就很贫瘠的土地，更加沙漠化。我们乌鲁木齐的人家做饭、取暖的烟囱冒出来的黑烟和汽车尾气的大量排放使的空气被污染。使乌鲁木齐的冬天看不到蓝天，雪也是黑的。

我在电视看见韩国的饭店用的筷子都是金属做的，可以反复用。可是在我们国家大大小小的饭店全是用的一次性筷子，据我了解一棵生长五十年的桦树只够十家饭店一天用的筷子的数量，中国有多少家饭店?一天要用多少棵桦树啊!!

对于我们校学生来讲要保护环境，首先要从不要乱人垃圾果皮纸屑，见到有人乱扔垃圾要给他讲道理。大人们也不要砍伐树木，这样会污染环境。要从节约每一滴水、每一度电做起、从小树立保护环境的意识，做到保护环境，人人有责。使我们的家园更美好!

Nowdays,our enviroment is getting worse and worse,it definetely affects peoples lives,study and also work.On the other hand,our lives,work and production is polluting the enviroment in a very serious way.Here arises a question,how do we save our enviroment.

还有一次，我到堂弟家做客，看见他洗手时把水开得很大，洗完手后他还用很多纸擦手。我看了后对他说：“你怎么这么浪费呀?”他听后，撅着嘴对我说：“就这么一点，又没什么关系!”我生气地说：“这怎么会没关系呢?你知不知道那些贫困山区的孩子们一天只喝多少水?知不知道他们只有多少纸?”可我那不服输的堂弟却理直气壮地说：“不知道!”我叹了口气说：“我们比他们要幸福多了，你怎么不知道知足呢?”这时，堂弟知道了事情的“重要性”，低着头说：“我知道错了，我会改正的。”
