TheDragonBoatFestivaloccurs on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar(阴历). It is one of the three most important of the annual Chinese festivals. The other two are the Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year.

The story of this colorful festival concerns a famous Chinese scholar-statesman(政治家) named Chu Yuan(屈原) who, some three centuries before the birth of Christ, served the King of Chu(楚怀王)during the Warring States period. As a loyal minister(大臣), Chu Yuan at first enjoyed the full confidence and respect of his sovereign(君主). Eventually, through the intrigues of his rivals, he was discredited(不足信的, 不名誉的).

Chu Yuan was never able to regain(恢复) the emperors favor and on the fifth day of the fifth moon in the year 295 B.C.(Before Christ), at the age of 37, Chu Yuan clasped a stone to his chest and plunged into the Milo River(汨罗江) in the Hunan Province(湖南省).

Respecting the minister as an upright(正直的) and honest man, the people who lived in the area jumped into their boats and rushed out in a vain search for him. This unsuccessful rescue attempt is a part of what the Dragon Boat Festival commemorates every year.

Probably the most exciting and interesting aspect of the festival is the racing of the Dragon Boats. These races not only symbolize the peoples attempt to save Chu Yuan, they also demonstrate the Chinese virtues(美德) of cooperation and teamwork.

Another activity of the Festival is the making and eating of a kind of dumpling called Tzungtzu (粽子). When it became known that Chu Yuan was gone forever, the people, living along the river, threw cooked rice into the water as a sacrifice(祭品) to their dead hero. They wrapped(包) rice in bamboo leaves(粽叶), and stuffed(填满) it with ham, beans, bean paste(豆沙), salted egg yokes, sausages, nuts, and/or vegetables.

To the Chinese the fifth lunar moon is more than just the Dragon Boat Festival. Since antiquity(古代), they have believed that this month is a pestilential and danger-fraught(瘟疫的及充满危险的) period. Children born in this month are said to be difficult to raise(抚养), and people tend to concentrate their efforts during this time attempting to protect their families from ills and misfortune. The day of the Dragon Boat Festival is customarily the time when cleaning and sanitation(卫生) are stressed(着重, 强调). Most families hang calamus(菖蒲) and artemisia(艾草) above their doors, both as a decoration and as a preventive against pestilence.

Ancient folk medicines(民间药物) such as realgar(雄黄酒)are added to the food eaten on the Festival day. This is believed to prevent disease and to promote a healthy digestive system(消化器官). The drinking of realgar in wine supposedly relieves(解除) the effects of poisons accumulated in human bodies.

The sachets (Hsiang Pao in Chinese香包) are very popular with children and they vie(竞争) with each other to collect as many as possible. Children are not the only ones who collect Hsiang Pao. Older people are often given them as a symbol of respect, and they are highly prized because of the intricate(复杂的) and beautiful embroidery(刺绣) that adorns(装饰) them.

The Dragon Boat Festival is an entertaining and enjoyable event. It gives the observer an opportunity to glimpse a part of the rich Chinese cultural heritage

我国的传统节日很多：清明节、端午节、七夕节、元宵节……其中，我最喜欢端午节了，因为可以吃又香又好吃的粽子。

每年端午节的时候，外婆总是会包粽子给我们吃。她先买来优质的糯米，再找来粽叶，把糯米泡起来，然后把粽叶放在锅里煮。听外婆说叶子煮煮就能发出香味。一切准备就续，粽子开始包了。只见外婆拿了一片粽叶，折成一个漏斗的形状，然后，把大米放到叶子里，接着把剩下的粽叶包住头部，这样就可以不让糯米漏出来，最后用线把粽子系得严严实实。这样一个粽子就包好了。就这样，一个、两个、三个……直到全部包好为止。

最后，外婆把粽子放到锅里煮。几个小时候后，香甜可口的粽子终于出锅了。粽子刚盛上来，我就拿起一个，剪开了线，又解开粽叶，把粽叶里的糯米团放到碗里，拿一双筷子吃了起来。我手里的那双筷子不停地在碗中与嘴中间挥舞。不一会儿，一个粽子便进入了我的肚皮，真好吃!这粽子里有糯米的饭香，粽叶的清香，花生的香甜以及蜜枣的甜蜜。这些味道混合在一起，让人回味无穷。

早饭吃好了以后，我就会开工早上的第一件事，做作业，每到星期天，老师都会布置一篇周记，我先把我写好的周记给妈妈看，如果通过了就可以看电视，不过只能看半小时，第三件事就是看书，说起看书，这几天妈妈借的书都很精彩。

我一看就是1个小时，时间过的真快啊，已经是晚上了，我们高高兴兴的吃过晚饭，快乐的一天就结束了

我们周围的一切每天都在变化。听爸爸说，以前我的家乡非常非常穷，穷得连饭都没得吃。那时，没有什么交通工具，马路上看到最多的是拖拉机，爸爸上学、放学都要靠步行，走上半个多小时才能到爷爷家。通往学校的那条路面凹凸不平，到处都是泥坑，一到下雨天，坑里到处都积满水，爸爸只能深一脚浅一脚地去上学，往往是到了学校，整只裤脚全部溅湿了。那时，家里面非常简陋，住的还是木制结构的房子，被柴火熏得黑黑的墙壁，踩上去咯吱作响的地板。一到台风天，整个房子像在摇晃，一家人害怕得不得了。家里没有什么像样的电器，只有一些木头家具，烧饭也是用柴灶，还要砍柴，十分麻烦。

如今我们的生活与以前相比已经大变样了。繁华的大城市高楼林立，大街上各种小轿车川流不息，一碰上红灯，那车辆停得像条长龙。宽阔平坦的大街上有五花八门的小商店，各种大型超市里人山人海。现在爷爷的家也是大变样了，以前那矮小的木房子，现在变成了又高又气派的四层小洋房。那脏兮兮的墙壁现在也已经变得又白又亮了。客厅里还有很多崭新的电器和家具：柔软的大沙发，透明坚固的玻璃桌，超大屏幕的电视机正在播放着精彩的电视节目呢!

想想过去，看看现在，我不禁赞叹道：家乡的变化真大呀!从现在起，我要好好学习，掌握科学技术，将来把家乡建设得更加美丽富饶。

每年过端午节时，全国各地都会进行精彩纷呈的龙舟比赛，那是为了纪念爱国大诗人“屈原”。而在我们家，奶奶就会去买糯米、粽叶和艾叶。奶奶包的粽子有三角形的，有长方形的，形状各异，大小不一。

咬上一口香甜软糯，令人回味无穷。而艾叶嘛?是用来洗艾叶澡的。晚上，妈妈就开始摆弄艾叶了，只见她先把艾叶装在盆里，清洗干净，接着放到铝锅里，然后打开煤气灶，过了一会儿，水沸腾了，一阵艾香扑鼻而来，把艾叶煮好，最后放出来晾凉。洗完艾叶澡后，我觉得神清气爽。据说，用艾叶洗澡能去除蚊虫，消除疾病。真是“家有三千艾，郎中不用来”。

I spend a lot of time on the homework.. Every day in my Winter Holiday, I always got up late. then I listened to the tape, it was nine o’clock. then I ate breakfast and then I did my homework during the daytime! I’m not very slow but the homework was too heavy!

I’m unlucky on the playing too. I played firecracker but I hurt my finger with the fire. I ‘m careless to kindle the firecracker, so I’m very unlucky.

I still unlucky on my friend’s party. In the morning, I wanted to get up early but I woke up at 10:50. After ten minutes, the party would start! So I only eat a piece of bread then I go to my friend’s home! And I stay at his home for a long time when I came home. My mother and father were very angry and they scolded me!

I’m worried and feel unlucky on my weigh. Last term, I was 48 kilogram but now I am 51 kilogram! I must to do banting!

andcarnation is regarded as the flower for mother.In China, the flower formother

is day lily，also known as Nepenthe(忘忧草).In addition, cleaning upthe room, doing

housework and a big dinner are considered to be the bestMothers Day gifts.

又是一年国庆，每一年的国庆，我家都会选择去外面游玩一圈，今年，同样不列外。

国庆的第二天，一大早，爸爸、妈妈、我、妹妹就坐上了火车，这次我们要去的是个非常著名的旅游景点——山水桂林。

在上学期间，我早就从不少的传媒工具上看到过那里的照片了，那里的山真有一种平地凸起之势，那里的水也是绝对的碧波荡影。所以在火车上的时候，我一个没忍住就朝着妹妹说了起来，那阵仗就好像是我已经去过了一次一般。

妹妹先是认真的听着我说的话，但是渐渐的妹妹不太灵光的小脑袋反应过来，她问：“你去过吗?说的这么好，好像到过那里一般。”妹妹的声音奶奶的，我对上妹妹天真无邪的眸子，抬着脑袋自信道：“我听别人说出，也在照片里看过，绝对没错。”

爸爸妈妈坐在我和妹妹的对面，他们听着我说这话，没忍住笑出了声，不过，爸爸妈妈一向不会插嘴我和妹妹之间的谈论，所以他们俩就坐着静静的听着。

“那你别说了，你都没去过的，说的不准确。”妹妹嘟起了嘴，显然不想听我废话了，不过吗、，我可没有那么容易打发，“你先听，等到了那里，你就知道准不准确了!”

于是，一路的火车上，都是我的声音。

等到我们走进桂林阳朔的时候，特别是在第二天，我们乘船在漓江上飘荡的时候，这是候妹妹才开心的大叫：“哇哇，真的，跟你说的一样，这里的山好奇特，高高低低，好像我在数学课上画的弧线。”

听到妹妹的话，我不自觉的开心了起来，我们坐的船是一艘小竹筏，我们坐在上，摇摇晃晃的，站在前面的船夫手法娴熟。

这真是一个有趣的国庆节。

冬至是我国的传统节日，在冬至的时候，家家户户都要吃汤圆、祭祖等。而我要说的是我做汤圆的事。

记得前年冬至，我看见奶奶和妈妈在厨房做汤圆，就心血来潮。我想做汤圆，妈妈看出我的心思，说：“想来试试吧！”我点点头，走了过去，准备大显身手。

妈妈和奶奶因为做过很多次，所以这对她们来说小菜一碟。我本以为做汤圆很容易，可做起来很难：我那出一点面团，放在手心，我搓、我磨，汤圆在我手心转动。我感觉差不多了，我把手抬起来，这汤圆圆不圆的，像个鬼，妈妈和奶奶看了，哈哈大笑起来。

妈妈手把手教我，我左耳听，右耳出，总是做不好。最后费了我九牛二虎之力，才做出了一个比刚才好一点点的汤圆，可我还是觉得它不像汤圆，凭着感觉继续做，可汤圆好像不情愿待在我的“五指山”下，越搓它越破。这汤圆老是给我唱反调。我就不信治不了它。它一破，我就补。这样一来，汤圆变得跟碟子一样大了。这时老妹经过厨房，看到了这个汤圆，捂着肚子大笑：“这哪是汤圆，这简直就是飞碟，哈哈”老妹笑得眼泪都流了出来，等一下整个人都笑倒在地上了。我看都不看，仍继续做我的汤圆。哎！瞧，别人做的都出锅了，而我的“四不像”还在手里呢！

啊！冬至，这个传统的节日，让我感受到家庭的和谐，也明白了做事样样都有门道，要摸着规律，才能做好事情。这真是一个让我难忘的冬至啊！
