《S HALLOWEEN》

Jack Prelutsky

Its Halloween! Its Halloween!

The moon is full and bright

And we shall see what cant be seen

On any other night.

Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,

Grinning goblins fighting duels,

Werewolves rising from their tombs,

Witches on their magic brooms.

In masks and gowns

we haunt the street

And knock on doors

for trick or treat.

Tonight we are

the king and queen,

For oh tonight

its Halloween!

Halloween万圣节

All the Witches to Be Seen

All the witches to be seen,

Some black, some green.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the brooms to be seen,

Witches gifts to the teen.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the black cats to be seen,

Some dirty, some clean.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the masks to be seen,

Some happy, some mean.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the bats to be seen,

Themselves they love to preen.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the owls to be seen,

"Who-who!" What do they mean?

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the spiders to be seen,

Spinning webs in the canteen.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the kids to be seen,

Skeletons in between.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the jack-o-lanterns to be seen,

Scarecrows on the team.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the mummies to be seen,

Some fat, some lean.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the graves to be seen,

Where the dead have been.

Hey-how for Halloween!

All the ghosts to be seen,

Some dull, some keen.

Hey-how for Halloween!

Cats and Bats

The cats scare me and so do the bats

And both of them wear funny hats.

The bats hang upside down at night

They are a silly crazy sight.

The cats all like to hiss and fight.

They sit on the steps in the bright moonlight.

My favorite creature is a ghost

Because hes so spooky on a post.

《HALLOWEEN MAGIC》

Barbara M. Hales

A bald-headed ghost

Drank some witches brew

And on top of his head

A strange thing grew.

It was pointed and tall

And black as a bat

With stringy long hair

Where his head was flat.

The sad little ghost

Didnt want any hair

Or a black pointed hat

So he said, "Witch beware!"

Then he chanted some words

With a spell-casting switch

And gave Halloween Night

A bald-headed witch!!

One Inch Tall

If you were only one inch tall , youd ride a worm to school.

The teardrop of a crying ant would be your swimming pool.

A crumb of cake would be a feast

And last you seven days at least ,

A flea would be a frightening beast

If you were one inch tall .

If you were only one inch tall , youd walk beneath the door ,

And it would take about a month to get down to the store .

A bit of fluff would be your bed,

Youd swing upon a spiders thread ,

And wear a thimble on your head

If youwere one inch tall .

youd surf across the kitchen sink upon a stick of gum

you couldnt hug your mama , youd just have to hug her thumb .

youd run from peoples feet in fright ,

To move a pen would take all night ,

( This poem took fourteen years to write ---

Cause Im just one inch tall )

《DEVILS NIGHT》

Dont go out on Devils Night.

Stay in your bed and keep on the light.

Little demons and ghouls have their fun all right,

outside on the streets this Devils Night.

You dont want to know what mischief they cause.

On Halloween Eve they run without pause,

flying and laughing, and breaking the laws,

you really dont want to see the mischief theyve caused.

Please heed my words, stay under the covers,

and tell your friends and your sisters, and of course your brothers.

Stay in bed, dont even peek through the shutters,

cause a goblin or ghost may spook you to stutters.

Just wait until daybreak on Halloween Day,

when you know all the ghouls and ghosts are away.

They hate the daylight, "its no fun," they say.

So just please, please wait to Trick or Treat on Halloween Day.

Fire red, summer‘s dead,

Yet shall it return.

Clear and bright in the night,

Burn, fire, burn!

Dance the ring, luck to bring,

When the year‘s aturning.

Chant the rhyme at Hallowstime,

When the fire‘s burning.

Fire glow, vision show

Of the heart‘s desire,

When the spell‘s chanted well

Of the witching fire.

Dance the ring, luck to bring,

When the year‘s aturning.

Chant the rhyme at Hallowstime,

When the fire‘s burning.

Fire spark, when nights are dark,

Makes our winter‘s mirth.

Red leaves fall, earth takes all,

Brings them to rebirth.

Dance the ring, luck to bring,

When the year‘s aturning.

Chant the rhyme at Hallowstime,

When the fire‘s burning.

Fire fair, earth and air,

And the heaven‘s rain,

And blessed be, and so may we,

At Hallowstide again.

Dance the ring, luck to bring,

When the year‘s aturning.

Chant the rhyme at Hallowstime,

When the fire‘s burning.
