To Live
When I read the book To Live, I know I have own a lot of happiness in this period. To Live allowed me to see the people’s suffering and hardship in old China. But the most important is the spirit that age gives to them.
To Live described Fugui’s life who lives in The Cultural Revolution and Great Leap Forward. Fugui borns in a host family, when he was young, he often went outside gambling. So that in the end he spent all the property under the trap which others had designed. At that time, he had got married with his wife Jiazhen. One day, when he went out to borrow money for looking doctors for his parents, he was caught to join the army. Almost all the soldiers had died, but he struggled to live and luckly got together with his family, when his mother had gone and his daughter Fengxia had been a dumb because of illness. His family were very happy because of his coming back. For he had not been assigned to the landlord constituents, they lived a poor and happy life. Of the past with each passing day, his little son was going to middle school, but his disaster began again. His son lost his life for saving his classmate whose father is the mayor of the town. Backlog of the pain and frustration, he and his wife as if had lost a lot and they nearly lost confidence of living. Fortunately, they have a sensible daughter, although she couldn’t talk, but she helped her parents go through the pains. Later Fengxia married to Erxi who is an honest man, but fate still made fun of this hard-working and simple girl, she died from giving birth. And then later, in the heavy blows, Fugui’s wife left him forever.
Life had lost all his family, leaving him, last remaining alive. I don’t know how I can experience his life in that age, his disease that he had to face, but I know Fugui had learnt to respect for life, be properly alive.

The book can bring me into a world that is more than reality while reading it. The extraordinary story makes me ponder a lot and gives me a deep impression that every girl can be a princess.
In my opinion, it is impossible for every rich girl to act like a well-behaved princess, but Sara, the heroine of the novel, did it! She was an imaginative little girl who had such intelligent small face and such perfect manners. Sara was a very nice girl who had a gentle, appreciative ways of saying, such as “If you please” “Thank you” which was very charming. So, not only her teachers and classmates liked her, but also her servants liked her. There was a time when Sara became a poor and pitiful servant insulted by the snobbish headmaster of the school. In spite of this, she had never complained to anyone about the horrible suffering she had endured. Sara was confident, brave, optimistic and kind-hearted just like before and she had never given up her enthusiasm of life. No matter when, Sara acted like a princess, and on account of this, she had accomplished a great deal of miracles over and over again.
After reading this outstanding book, I was shocked by Sara, a little girl who suffered such unimaginable pain and tortures, but still had an opposite attitude towards life. What impresses me most is that Sara put on her act of being a princess when she wore thin bottom shoes, wading in the street of London. From my point of view, her spirit of being so strong-minded when she was in hard times is worth admiring.
Truly, every girl is a princess coming into common life. The “princess” I mean is not a princess living in the palace and being regarded as the apple of everyone’s eye. As the matter of fact, the “princess” is at heart. I am in the belief that every ordinary girl in the world can be a princess. The way for a girl to be a princess is quite simple. Just suppose! You can suppose yourself to be a princess, and go about your business confidently without caring how the others would treat you. If you want to have more resemblance to a princess, be more kind and try your best to help the people in need. The most important thing you are supposed to do is that to feel like a real princess at any occasion, particularly when you are involved with enormous melancholy. 石娃是这部电影的主人公，他出生在甘肃山区的一个小村庄。那年他七岁该上小学了，姐姐十二岁也该上初中了。由于他们从小失去了母亲，爸爸是一个淳朴憨厚的农民，而且家里很穷，只能勉强供一个孩子上学。于是，父亲用一把铜勺来决定两个孩子谁来上学的机会。也不知道是上天从来都把这样的机会赐给男孩，还是石娃比他的姐姐幸运，最终铜勺指向了石娃。

His grandmother was also a kind woman. She brought up Alexis and gave courage and kindness to Alexis. But unfortunately, his husband always hit her and she died because of illness at last.

The protagonist of this novel was a boy named Alexis. His father died when he was only 3 years old. He followed his mother and came to her motherhome. His grandfather is a violent man. In fact ,the writer wanted to express himself through Alexis. Alexis was like himself. Gorky expressed his childhood through Alexis. This book makes me realize these ugly people at that time. If we with compare our childhood with Gorkys, we would think his childhood is too pathetic.
I want to express my feeling to Alexis. He was young and he did not receive good education. He lived with the fights and quarrels of his families. He was unlucky but he still knew how to be a good person. We are so lucky to live in a warm family. But most of us are not satisfied with it and we want more. We do not know how to cherish the things we have. We often ask for everything from our parents and depend them too much. If someone bully us outside, our parents will encourage us, but for Alexis, nobody will help him and his grandfather even maltreats him. What a poor boy he is. Now, we should realize that we should depend on ourselves and cherish our families. Facing the difficulties by ourselves and try to be confident to life. There must be something that make us despairing, however we should learn form the author and look for the happiness from the pain and look for the hope from the despair. His wife born three children for him but he did not love her at all. He just love his money. His character represented many people at that time. And the author wanted to satirize these people by this character. He was an important character in this novel and an important person for Alexis. But he did not be responsible for Alexis. Alexis was so unlucky to have such a bad grandfather. And his grandmother was so unlucky to have such a violent husband.
The most kind and pitiful person was Alexisgrandmother. She was the most attractive woman in the literal history of Russia. She did not live a happy day in her whole life. She was so industrious and simple, maybe she just want a simple life. She just want her children could be happy and her husband could love her even did not maltreat her. But her simple dream did not come true. It was unfair for such a kind woman. She lived an unhappy life everyday, but she still love her grandson. She represented these industrious woman at that time. She gave her love to Alexis and hold the broken family. She was so tried everyday with the housework and the maltreatment. I sympathize her very much. The little prince is a boy who has an angelical heart, his life is also very simple-a small planet which is full of flowers and monkey bread tree seedlings. The little prince is always depressed, and when he was sad, he would sit on a chair and see the sunset. He even see forty-three times sunset in a day to make himself feel better.
His life turned to a new appearance when a beautiful rose came out. She is a flower with proud, when her lie was exposed by the little prince, she felt embarrassed. The small misunderstanding between them made the little prince determined to leave the planet he lived on.
On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. Following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in the Sahara, on the earth.
Traveling on the earth, the little prince, who sees a garden of five-thousand roses, is overcome with astonishment and sadness, as he considers his rose is unique in the universe before. At that time a fox
appears. The fox, who tell the little prince about the meaning of the word “tame”, becomes his new friend. At the time to say farewell, the fox makes him know that his rose is unique because she is his rose and tamed by him. From that the little prince begins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose. Then he chooses the venom of snake to end his life.painful but happy, he thinks he could lay aside the bulky body and go back.
I cried about the prince’s death. But I’m not sad. His life is so childish ,pure, and also sincere. And he must get his happy ending being with his rose finally. The plot is easy, but the deep meaning of the story is worth thinking . we have grown up as an adult, then we are gradually surrounded by meaningless figures and money. We live in a complex society , every day we must be faced with all kinds of person ,which made our heart more and more cold and detached. For me, society is a monster which could kill the pureness inside of my mind. I’m so grateful for reading this story. And from then on, I have a little prince live in my heart, and when I felt tired to face the society, he appeared and took me back to the clean and honest world that I’ve ever stayed in childhood. Then, I found out everything seemed so simple and life was so beautiful.
