但从总体来讲，蒂姆·波顿的执导依旧不俗，他将两个世界完美结合在一起--家园没被炸毁而是保存了下来，但是在另一面的现实生活中，Jacob的祖父则是个怪人，Jacob的父亲Franklin一直对Jacob祖父不在身边耿耿于怀。在佩小姐的看护下，这些超能力孩子们过着愉快又有趣的生活，超能力给孩子们带来了快乐，并赋予他们的生活很多奇幻色彩。这些孩子们的超能力跟X战警以及那些坏人们拥有的并非同一等级，这些超能力让孩子们度过了悠闲的时光，而在紧要关头也让他们成功躲避了危险。

剧情安排孩子们踏上一段探险之旅，这跟他们自身的想法和意愿有些不一致。后来电影中有一段在一个码头展开的胜负对决，当时码头上正在举办狂欢节，一大群人正在无比慌乱的四处逃走，这里让人看的不是很明白，什么人在逃走，又是为什么逃走?还有一点，影片很想突出Jacob和他父亲Franklin之间关系的缓和，但又在Jacob和他祖父Abe的情感上大做文章，虽然成功吸引了观众的注意力，但却没能在Jacob和他父亲的关系问题上说清楚，这有些令人失望。

1. 女主角调换

第一本小说的前半段进度超慢，小说读到三分之一，男女主角才相遇。继续读多几页，我还以为自己找错书了。小说里面的女主角Emma是个可以控制火的少女，怎么到了电影Emma就变成了轻盈且控制空气的少女。而小说里面轻盈的少女Olive到了电影则变成了控制火的少女。编辑这样改故事根本就是把小说里面的配角变成主角，只因为她的能力能够给电影带来更加特别的效果。可以飘的少女和控制火的少女，当然是飘飘卖点更多。

2. 海底船

毋庸置疑，Emma将海水挤出船舱可以说是超精彩的，如果女主角可以控制火，这段剧情就不会出现在剧本里。在小说里，Emma约Jacob在夜里偷偷见面。Emma要告诉Jacob一个秘密，便带他到位于灯塔旁边的一艘沉船里。两人游泳进去船舱，并公用一条管子呼吸。管子的一头在海面，另一头两人交换用来呼吸。在船舱里，Emma与发青光的鱼共舞，然后两人就浮上水面，并且亲吻，不够还舌吻。亲吻后，Emma才告诉Jacob秘密。而在电影里面，明显两人是在光天化日下海，Emma还弄了个空气头罩给Jacob。在船舱还用能力挤出海水。

电影里的战斗地点是孤儿院本身，小说里面的战斗地点是临时停尸间(Jacob等人为了调查凶杀案背后的真相而唤醒尸体，不久后Hollowgasts便攻击他们)。

6. 复活

小说里的老人在死后被复活问出是谁在搞鬼，可是电影里却没有。

7. 偷偷带回来的物品

电影后半段几乎是完全变了个样，小说里面的决斗是在灯塔旁边，电影里面却要出航去游乐场决斗。

小说里面大家没什么表现的机会，电影里面全部人都出了力对抗敌人。

在观看了电影后，本人尽量回想到底哪里有不同之处。我知道电影改编了许多地方，暂时只能想起这些，欢迎大家补充其他的不同之处。

电影有许多地方跟小说有出入，我知道片方为了戏剧化才会有此变动，而游乐场那段确实有趣，不过小说果然是难以超越的东西，还是小说好看!

1. Emma其实是Jacob爷爷的前女友。在现在Emma爱上了Jacob。(上演忘年恋了，连前男友的孙子也要)

2. 电影里面的妖怪Hollowgasts其实是peculiar。因为魔法试验失败而变成妖怪。他们可以化身为人类，过着普通人的日子，可是没有试验前的记忆。可以活上千年。渴望peculiar的血。唯一辨识的方法就是眼睛。Hollogasts只有眼白，没有黑珠。

3. Jacob和他爷爷是可以看见Hollowgasts的特别peculiar。其他peculiar都看不见Hollowgasts。

Another important function of movie is to show people the culture. We can see all kinds of the countries’ culture from the movies, a good movie reflects the director’s opinion about the world or the value. Like the American movie, individual heroism is everywhere, in the reality, American people indeed admire individual heroism, they chase for individuality. In the Indian movie, we can see there are a lot of poor people and the women’s situation is not that good. Movie is a good way for people to learn things.
