As the Christmas Day is coming, our class decided to send some gifts to our

teachers, because we wanted to show our gratitude to them. At first, we had no

idea what to buy, because we wanted to do something special. So at last an idea

came to my mind. I advised to write a card, pasting some pictures of classmates

on it. Everybody agreed with me, so we spent a day to take some funny pictures,

不到长城非好汉。今天，我终于可以当一回“好汉”，登上万里长城了，我的心情显得格外激动。

我一边走一边想：现在我们爬上长城已经觉得这么辛苦了，真不知道古代的劳动人民是怎样在山上修建出一座这么宏伟的建筑。也许他们是凭着坚持的信念，一直坚持到最后的吧!只要坚持，就能建好长城;只要坚持，就能克服所有困难;只要坚持，就能看到希望。古代劳动人民们就是这样的坚强，就是这样的努力，最终把我们举世无双的万里长城修建好的。

晚上，万里长城上照着五彩缤纷的灯光，显得格外美丽，它就像一条五颜六色的丝带。啊!万里长城是我们中国的象征，他是我们中国古代老代劳动人民的心血结晶，所以我们要好好爱护长城，让这个宏伟的建筑可以永远留在中国，留在人们心中!

The Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. People usually

decorate the doors and windows with red papercuts. becouse red means good luck.

People usually clean house too. becouse they want to sweep away bad luck.

四年级寒假的时候，我们一家人去八达岭的长城游玩、玩耍，爸爸开着车，除了爸爸开车之外，还有3个人，是：我和妈妈、叔叔。

车在半山腰的高速公路上飞弛着，不一会儿，我们来到了闻名中外的八达岭——万里长城，对整座长城的形状来说，八达岭长城是世界上最具有代表性的战争防御工具，因为它路基宽、厚、陡，地势非常险峻。每天都有很多中国人以及外国人慕名而来参观它。

到了之后，我们开始登长城了，这时我在想：以前古代的人要花费多长时间，多少的人力和物力，才能把一块块的大石头搬到半山腰筑成闻名中外的万里长城呢?并用它来对付这么外来强大的侵略者，听爸爸说：“在当时这是中国最好的军事防御系统，很牢固，不容易倒塌”。我想古代的人真的有那么厉害吗?爬了一半的时候，我觉得有点累了，很辛苦，因为在长城的半山腰上，风越刮越大，我的脸觉得象被刀割的似的，天气又冷，手脚感觉都麻木了，就像在冰天雪地中被冻僵了似的，但是我决不能够放弃，不能够半途而废，并且，我是一个男子汉......

过了一会儿，我终于登上了第一个好汉坡，在一块石头上刻了一句话：“不到长城非好汉

”。我在那里拍了几张照片就继续赶路了，路越来越陡，越来越难走，风也变得越来越大了，长期以来，登长城的人实在是太多了，人们把地砖都踩成“凹”字形了，我就这样不停的爬，不懈气，克服了重重的困难终于爬上了山顶，登上了第二个好汉坡，做了一回真正的“好汉”!

过了几分钟，我们就下山回家了。

第一次接触长城，是我上小学的时候。照片上长城的雄姿和老师绘声绘色的讲说在我的脑海中打上了深深的烙印，以后慢慢对长城的知识有了更多的了解，“孟姜女哭倒万里长城”，凄婉动人的故事，使我对长城更加加神往了。

如今这个愿望就要实现了。7月20日，按照夏令营活动日程的安排，我们要去登居庸关长城。早上7点钟，我们怀着激动的心情，兴高采烈的登上了去居庸关的汽车。

居庸关，是京北长城沿线上的著名古关城，国家级文物保护单位，位于昌平县城以北20公里的峡谷中，距北京60公里，地形险要，是长城重要的关隘。据史料记载，早在春秋战国时期，燕国便于此设防，当时已称“居庸塞”。南北朝时终于与长城连接为一体，以后数朝连设关卡于此。现存的居庸关长城始建于明洪武元年(1368年)，清末以后逐渐荒废。1992年，昌平县十三陵特区办事处对关城建筑进行了全面修复，再现了当日的雄姿。

汽车行驶了一个多小时，我们便置身于连绵起伏的群山之中，通过玻璃窗向远眺望，眼前的景色令我心旷神怡，雄伟的长城如同一条正欲腾飞的巨龙，蜿蜒起伏在崇山峻岭之中，真有“城随山势转，关并云齐”之势。

下了车，我们随着人流开始攀登居庸关长城。薄云笼罩的天空为我们解除了难耐的酷暑。长城的石阶又高又陡，再加上湿滑，必需小心翼翼的攀爬，不一会儿我就气喘吁吁了，但我还是坚持爬上了第一座烽火台。站在烽火台上，居庸关景色尽收眼底，习习的清风使人心胸豁然开朗，豪气顿生。居庸关形势险要，两旁山势雄奇，群峰傲立，可谓“一夫当关，万夫莫开”。长城脚下的山谷内清流萦绕、翠峰重迭、花木郁茂、山鸟争鸣，故有“居庸叠翠”之美称。我不禁轻轻抚摸着古老的城墙，仿佛看到了古代劳动人民修筑长城的艰辛情景，又仿佛看到中华健儿抵御外侮，奋勇杀敌的英姿，古老的关城为中华民族立下了赫赫功勋，同时也向世界展示勤劳、勇敢、自强不屈的中国龙精神，我心中通起一股强烈的民族自豪感。

由于剧烈的车晕，我的体力不济，未能登上长城的峰顶而中途返回，这是我此次长城之行最大的遗憾。

The Dragon Boat Festival is a lunar (阴历)holiday, occurring (存正)on the fifth

day of the fifth lunar month (农历史五月第五天). Dragon Boat Festival is my favourite

festival.During the holiday of Dragon Boat Festival,I got together with my

family to have a big meal.We ofen ate the zongzi.It tasted very nice.And we saw

the Dragon Boat Races.I felt excited because the race was bustling with noise

and excitement.At Dragon Boat Festival,we also drank realgar wine.Some people

thought drank realgar wine can protect themselves from illness.Dragon Boat

Festival was interesting and I like it very much.

The Chinese Dragon Boat Festival is a significant (有意义的)holiday celebrated

(庆祝)in China, and the one with the longest history (历史最悠久). The Dragon Boat

Festival is celebrated by boat races (龙舟赛) in the shape of dragons. Competing

teams (竞争团队) row their boats forward to a drumbeat (击古)racing to reach the

finish end first.

The boat races during the Dragon Boat Festival are traditional customs

(传统习俗)to attempts to (试图)rescue (搭救) the patriotic poet (爱国诗人)Chu Yuan. Chu Yuan

drowned (溺死) on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese

citizens now throw bamboo leaves (竹叶) filled with cooked rice into the

water.

Therefore the fish could eat the rice rather than the hero poet. This later

on turned into the custom of eating tzungtzu and rice dumplings(棕子).

The celebrations is a time for protection (防护) from evil (邪恶) and disease

(疾病) for the rest of the year. It is done so by different practices such as

hanging healthy herbs on the front door, drinking nutritious concoctions (营养品),

and displaying (展示) portraits (画像) of evils nemesis(邪恶报应), Chung Kuei. If one

manages to (成功做...) stand (直立)an egg on its end at exactly 12:00 noon, the

following year will be a lucky one.

Today, people eat bamboo-wrapped steamed glutinous(粘的) rice dumplings

called zongzi (the food originally intended to feed the fish) and race dragon

boats in memory of Qus dramatic death.

I’m going to the sun on my holiday. I will go there by a spaceship. I will

take a big blue spaceship. Then I’ll pilot the spaceship to the sun. The sun is

very hot. So I put on the super-shirt. In the morning, I will have some sun

burger for my breakfast.

At eight o’clock, I will play with my friends there. They are super dog and

super girl. Super dog is white and black. Super girl is very clever. Super girl

and super dog like to play with me. So I play with them for forty minutes. Then

I do my homework in my little red room on a small blue table. After my home

work, I will have my lunch. I will eat sun salad. I will make some red toy bear

to the sun babies. I will have red juice, red fish and red rice. All the things

are red. Then I need a lot of water on the sun because the sun is too hot. So I

Spring Festival is coming,I am very happy.On this winter holiday,I went to

visit my grandparents with my parents. My grandmother is very zeal.Our dinner is

“不到长城非好汉。”长城绵延万里，闻名于古今中外，登上长城后，真为华夏文明自豪万分啊!

今天一大早，才五点钟，太阳尚未升起，我们便兴致勃勃地开车出发，在距离八达岭长城还有几公里的路上有一个巨大的城楼横跨在高速公路十几米的高空，气势宏大，两边连接长城城墙，是为居庸关长城，而八达岭长城则是它的前哨阵地。妈妈说，在我四岁的时候曾到居庸关长城游玩过，有相片为证，可是我却完全没有任何记忆……

终于，我们到达了八达岭长城。这时还只是早上七点不到，却已经挤满了游客，停车场早已停满了旅游大巴。在妈妈的坚持下，我们乘索道上山。很快就抵达了终点“北七楼”。仔细观察，发现八达岭长城厚实而不高耸，城墙上朝北的一边有垛口，用于射箭;朝南的一边有矮窄的墙，以防自己人跌落城墙，又利于运输粮草。我不禁为古人周到的设计折服。

北七楼旁边是大名鼎鼎的好汉坡，斜角达七十度。好汉坡上人群仿佛长河。我们吃力地缓缓上登，行进到北八楼。遥望北七楼，不过二百步之遥，海拔落差却有足足数十米，真可谓“险”啊!

非常遗憾，北八楼虽然是八达岭的最高点，然而今天却关闭着的，进不去，没有关系，我们在北八楼外仍然可以俯瞰全景。整个长城映入眼帘，婉若巨龙，盘旋群岭，数千年如一日地守卫着华夏九州。面北远眺，深绿色的山脉连绵不绝，与天相接、地势险峻、易守难攻，号称天险，是长城最强悍的屏障。试想，敌军不易智取，仰攻困难，云梯又无法摆布，箭雨创伤更是在所难免，怎生不败之理?

正嘟囔着，我突然想起2200多年前蒙恬将军带领30万秦军击败匈奴于河套，匈奴主力受到重创，北逃七百里，后秦始皇下令修筑万里长城并由蒙恬监工。看着这险峻的山势地形，无比佩服古人，他们竟然能够在如此恶劣的自然条件下筑就长达六千余公里，可容五马并行的长城，而且至今千年不毁，这一切实在是令人叹为观止的奇迹。

而后，我们原路折返，绕道游览了北六楼、北五楼。这两座城楼是开放的，内部有道路。我们便进去仔细研究一番。这些楼主要用于报信，上面四周都有垛口。这些楼建在城墙上，不过三四米高，很像据点。之后，虽然我很想步行下山，妈妈还是拉着我坐了缆车……

长城是世界历史长河中不可多得的建筑奇迹，足以令万世炎黄子孙引以为傲。将来我一定要再来攀登一次，而且要徒步攀爬，不坐缆车哦!

万里长城翻山越岭蜿蜒迂回于崇山之间，好似一条中国龙蜿蜒迂回在崇山之间。看见它，人们不由寂然起敬;难以想象，在毫无科技技术的古代，它们又是怎样建造起来的呢?长城是由有数个征夫，背着石头一步步背上山的，稍有不慎就有可能会因跌落山崖而身亡。

长城是浩荡的，长城之浩荡是举世无双的;长城是巨大的，它是世界上唯一一个建筑了2000多年的古代进攻工程，堪称世界第八大奇迹;或许长城照旧残忍的，它让有数家庭从此不再团聚，长城的奠基便是征夫们的白骨;但长城是结晶，它是我国古代人民的坚强毅力和高度智慧的结晶。这就是让我们所有华人引以为豪的万里长城。

这个节日的由来逝代中国有一位博学多闻的官吏屈原，他是一位爱民而且又受到尊崇的官吏，但是由於一位充满嫉妒的官吏陷害，从此在朝廷中被皇帝所冷落。由於无法获得皇帝的重视，屈原在忧郁的情况下投汨罗江自尽。

由於对屈原的爱戴，汨罗江畔的居民匆忙的划船在江内寻找屈原，并且将米丢入汨罗江中，以平息汨罗江中的蛟龙。即使他们当时并没有找到屈原，但是他们的行为，直到今天在端午节的时候，仍然被人们传颂纪念著。

Unable to regain the respect of the emperor，in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river. Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan， the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.

Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan，their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.
