大熊猫，是大熊猫亚科以及大熊猫属中唯一的哺乳动物，主要分布在我国陕西、四川和甘肃的海拔高达2600~3500米的竹林里，所以，大熊猫厚厚的皮毛足以抵挡住寒冷。

大熊猫有一副“黑眼镜”这副“黑眼镜”也就是我们说的“黑眼圈”。大熊猫只有黑白两种颜色，除了眼睛、四肢和耳朵之外，其它部位全是白色的，但你要仔细瞧瞧，就会发现，大熊猫那绒球似的尾巴也是黑色的。大熊猫的行动方式是倒“八”字行走，行动十分缓慢。这是因为它们的生活地区没有它们的天敌，长期以来，它们99％的食物全是竹子，不需要常常捕猎，动作不必很快。

大熊猫还是典型的“吃不饱，睡不好”。大熊猫在每两次进食间睡上2~4个小时，这也是有原因的。这是因为，竹子的营养不高，大熊猫必须吃很多竹子才能满足它们身体的营养需要。

大熊猫是我国特有物种，在地球上已生存800万年，是著名的“活化石”和中国国宝，我们应该珍惜爱护它们！
