There are two legends which claim to explain the tradition of eating mooncakes. One Tang Dynasty myth holds that the Earth once had 10 suns circling it. One day all 10 suns appeared at once，scorching the planet with their heat. It was thanks to a skillful archer named Hou Yi that the Earth was saved. He shot down all but one of the suns. As his reward，the Heavenly Queen Mother gave Hou Yi the Elixir of Immortality，but she warned him that he must use it wisely. Hou Yi ignored her advice and，corrupted by fame and fortune，became a tyrannical leader. Chang-Er，his beautiful wife， could no longer stand by and watch him abuse his power so she stole his Elixir and fled to the moon to escape his angry wrath. And thus began the legend of the beautiful woman in the moon，the Moon Fairy.

The second legend has it that during the Yuan Dynasty，an underground group led by Zhu Yuan Zang was determined to rid the country of Mongolian dominance. The moon cake was created to carry a secret message. When the cake was opened and the message read，an uprising was unleashed which successfully routed the Mongolians. It happened at the time of the full moon，which，some say，explains why mooncakes are eaten at this time. Mooncakes are usually stamped with Chinese characters indicating the name of the bakery and the type of filling used. Some bakeries will even stamp them with your family name so that you can give personalised ones to friends and family. They are usually presented in boxes of four which indicate the four phases of the moon. Traditional mooncakes are made with melted lard，but today vegetable oil is more often used in the interests of health. Mooncakes are not for the diet-conscious as they are loaded with calories. The best way to wash down one of these sticky cakes is with a cup of Chinese tea，especially Jasmine or Chrysanthemum tea，which aids the digestion.

I think Mid-Autumn Day is an old traditional festival in China. Everybody likes it because its a family get-together. You see it is called"Mid-Autumn Day", so it often comes in September or October. In China Mid-autumn Day is considered to be a symbol of family reunion. On this day all the family members gather together at home to celebrate this special occasion. Last year I could not celebrate the festival with my family because I was in university. However this special day left a deep impression on me.

I still remember the atmosphere of that evening. All the students who could not go back home assembled in our classroom having a party to celebrate this traditional festival. We tried our best to show our own enthusiasm. As an ethnic minority I performed a peacock dance which received warm applause. The moon is the brightest this night. People eat the delicious food while

Last summer vacation,my family and I went to Qingdao by train.There was always sunshine and fresh air,which made us so comfortable.We went to the seaside,the sea was as blue as the sky,and bathing in the sunshine on the beach, was really an enjoyable thing.I also picked up a lot of colorful shells with my little sister.There we bought many interesting souvenirs,I was planing to send them to my friends.We ate many tings there,such as fish,prawn,and so on.They are very delicious.Then we lived in a clean and tidy hotel,and the price was not so expensive.I like Qingdao very much,and if I got a chance,I hope to come here again,it is such a beautiful and interesting place.

My favorite holiday is Mid-autumn Day. Do you know why? Firstly, it’s day for family gathering. On Mid-autumn Day, families will stay together and eat a big dinner. My families always make very delicious food. After dinner, families will enjoy the beautiful full moon. We often have a good talk and eat moon cakes and fruits. For me, I like moon cakes very much. They are so tasty. Besides, the Mid-autumn Day is in autumn. It’s my favorite season.

The Olympic Games will be held this year.I am so excited and I think the games will be interesting and also fascinating.But now,the important is,how should we do with the Olmpics if I am a volunteer?To solve the problem will be extremely difficult,because nowadays lots of people devote themselves to society and you can not hold an opportunity easily.So just try my best.

We can go to the English Corner to help them to send some DIY newspapers and go to the neighborhood to tell the stories or history about Olmpics to the people who are curious to learn.Also,we can go on the streets to find the problems such as putting away the trash anywhere,saying out the impolite words.That will be meaningful.I am sure that I will succeed.Believe it,do it!

The Spring Festival

First,I went to ocean park with my family in Hongkong.It was very relaxing there.I ate the sea food.I played with the dolphins!

It was really happy there!

Then,we went to the Disneyland.It was very romantic.We enjoyed our selves there.It remind our mind to our childhood!If we will have another chance tour Hongkong.We will come there again!

下一站达旗——奶奶家。傍晚，我与爸爸把切好的西瓜与水果盘摆上桌。被切成花形的西瓜，一个个绿色的小角向上顽皮地翘起，各式各样的水果，整整齐齐地坐落盘中，再加上最前面小鼎中点上的三炷香，一切都是那么的适宜，看着这些为今晚的明月准备的美食，我的思绪早已飞向那个古老的神话，“爸爸，为什么要献月?月亮真的能迟到吗?……”一个个疑问充斥着我的大脑。正当我们说的起劲时，一辆黑色轿车驶入，“嘭”的一声，炮竹响了，只见爷爷正在门口招呼着姐姐。看到姐姐，我激动地冲出小院抱住了她，我们紧紧地相拥着，仿佛这一抱要抱尽这几个月的相思。

晚上我们吃了团圆饭，妹妹淼淼也带给了我们不少欢乐，她蹦蹦跳跳的为我们表演，活跃了气氛。

饭后我们一起在小院里赏月，十五的月亮果真又圆又大又亮。天还不怎么黑时，只见它从东方的地平线上羞涩地半掩者微红的面孔，散发着微乎其微的光。就在我们伴着妹妹的表演聊天叙旧时，它的轮廓渐渐清晰起来，“大玉盘”似的慢慢向正空移去，那微光变强了不少，几近洒满大地，漂亮极了!看着看着，我不禁想起：身居月宫的嫦娥仙子是否正在想念丈夫?吴刚是否还在伐木……

就这样我们在幸福中度过了美好的团圆节。
