The Differences of Education between China and U.S

Based on checking the extensive literature and summing up the evidence, it is clear that study about differences of higher education between China and US has carried out a lot which mainly explaines the differences from different aspects of higher edcation between China and the United States. Such aspects mainly includes the social environment and cultural tradition, higher education system and reform measures. In the Integration of these differences, advantages and evils of both educational systems have been evaluated respectively, and corresponding improvement measures were also put forwords. US is a open society. Us’s higher education was considered as the best education in the world. Comparing the elementary education between American and China, peoples universal view will be: Chinas elementary education aims to build the foundation of education with more study and less thought; while USs education aims to bulid such an education to raise the creativity with less study and more thought. Now Chinese students are generally regarded as intalents with few intelligence and high scores. What causes for such a view? Because the Chinese students study more, actually pay little attention to the practice, and cannot study for the purpose of application. Therefore, it is very important for Chinese higher education to cultivate the idea of unifying the study and prctice.

USs education pays more attention to raise students self-confidence,independence,spirit of supporting oneself, but Chinas education emphases on training the students to be strict,rigorous spiritual.Obviously, Chinese education may fruitfully develop and ultilize the function of cerebrum, but US’s higher education could expand the function of cerebrum by ultilizing and synthesizing the information outside.

Each national higher education as economic system’s reflection serves for the economy; US education aims to adapt for society demand, they explicitly stipulate three big functions including education’s service for the economic development, scientific research and teaching. 教学形式的多样化与教学效果是否成正比：选择多样化的教学形式，学生会感受到课堂气氛的活跃，但繁多的形式会使学生眼花缭乱。在《Atasnack》这一课，由于讲授的内容是食物类的单词和句型。所以我选择了很多样化的教具和教学形式，课堂氛围应该总体不错，但至于整堂课的教学效果，我实在是不好说。现在我很疑惑：一节课传授的是知识，教学形式只是是教学目标实现的辅助手段而已，该如何适度地运用不同的教学形式呢？

而且，我还学到了对于教材，自己要进行认真的分析，加以自己的理解，再进行适当的处理，这样才能做出最好的掌握。

之前，我的处理较于呆板，不仅自己教授起来困难，而且学生接受、掌握起来也并不是很容易。如果我能多动动脑子、多花花心思，也许就能找到更好、更合理的解决所教授内容的方式。

总之，万事都需要钻研。有付出，才会有回报。

“一张醒目的纸巾安静地躺在地上，你会弯腰捡起么” ？这一问题近日由杭州某初中二百三十二名新生用真实行动给出答案：“不，我们不会”。

这一回答另全社会震惊，想知道为何会给出这样的答案，是学生们太紧张，忽略了纸巾？还是学生们本着“事不关己高高挂起”的原则将拾起纸巾这一“分内事”交给校工？抑或是根本懒得弯下腰拾起纸巾？由于纸巾位置摆放讲究，第一种解释的可能性微乎其微，其余的解释虽然可部分归结于学生尚且年幼，放任了自己的惰性，以致不愿捡起一张纸巾，但毋庸置疑，道德感可以战胜懒惰，究其根本是学生缺乏道德教育，没有充分培养起做为一个学生应具备的社会责任感。

不可否认，当今的教育虽然颇受诟病，但依旧人才辈出。上有清华学神韩衍隽、复旦门萨女神张安琪，下有音乐神童、珠心算神童…..可诸多“男神女神神童”中，界定标准关乎道德的却寥寥无几。学生的责任不应止步于学习！钱理群先生曾经用“精致的利己主义者”来批评事业成功而道德缺乏的人，而当今道德教育的不到位，隐然有“精致的利己主义者” 大批兴起之势。

我不禁要呼喊“快来！道德教育”！我们的教育，严格要求数理化不落于人后，极力确保全才与专才同时出现，却独独对道德教育松懈再松懈，杭州这一中学二百三十二人的视而不见，为我们敲响了警钟。上世纪八十年代，面对经济上的落后，我们知耻而后勇以“经济发展为第一要义”的口号埋首苦干，三十余年后国富力强的今天，面对道德教育的缺失，我们是否会拿出同样的决心，痛定思痛，加速加强道德教育的建设？这比经济建设的任务更艰巨，影响力也更深远！

这位日本友人告诉我，在日本，小学生从一年级开始必须上“道德课”，教学方式有两种，一种是老师讲道德、礼仪、做人，把道德对做人如何重要的意识灌输给 学生。课本素材几乎都是中国古代的诸子百家思想，孔子、孟子、老子、韩非子，以及忠、孝、仁、礼等都有。第一节课往往是“己所不欲，勿施于人”。老师会 问：“如果你的朋友偷了你的书包，大家欺负你，你会高兴吗?”学生一起大声喊：“不高兴!”老师接着讲：“那你也不要对朋友那样，明白了吗?”学生回答： “明白了!”

另一种是实践，学校会安排学生到养老院、 残疾医院等地接触并照顾弱势群体，尽量沟通，学会相处，甚至还有养老院和幼儿园在一起的现象。 对于这些，我内心感受异常复杂。仁、义、礼、智、信这些都是中国古老文化的精华，尊老、敬老也是中国的传统美德，这些在异国他乡开花结果，可喜可贺。可惜 的是，中国的传统文化在本土却没有得到更好的传播，中国的孩子学习的重点是英文字母，是钢琴，是奥数，而不是这些古典文化。

我想，基础教育是个人成长的重要阶段，每个孩子都应该得到公平的教育机会。这个阶段，能够背诵唐诗宋词不是最重要的，能够学会几种外语也不是最重要的，最重要的应该是学会遵守基本的礼仪规范，有文化，有教养，知道怎么做人。这方面，中国需要向日本学习的地方很多。

People always attach the importance to the promise, they hate people who break their promise. I remember once a time, my friend asked me to go to see the movie with her, I said yes without hesitation. But on that day, I forgot about the date, I just woke up late and then played computer games in my bedroom.

My friends called me, she asked why did I disappear, I said I was sleeping at home, she became very angry, until then did I think about our date. I felt so sorry, I break my promise for the first time, I realize I did the very bad thing.

Even though I apologized for many times, my friend was still angry with me. I learn the lesson, promise is very important, we must keep it, other people will see through our personality to decide what kind of person we are.

Morality and Education

It is recognized by everybody that the strength of a country depends upon its education. The higher the education standards, the stronger the country becomes. That is true indeed.

But my opinion is that, in order to make a country strong, education alone is not sufficient. It should go side by side with morality.

近日在《中国德育》读到这样一段文字：“道德不是一套咒语，而是一首歌；不是一堵墙，而是一道台阶。如果是一块布，不是用来遮丑，而是用以显美；如果是一条绳索，不是用来束缚，而是用于攀登。如果它是目的，就让我们轻装上阵去奔向它；如果它是工具，就让我们轻松自如地去使用它。这样才是道德的。”说得真好，这是我至今为止看到的关于“道德”最富有诗意的诠释。

作为一个受过良好教育的人，道德的修养无疑是一个重要的方面。关注个体的道德成长的学校道德教育，必须着眼于个体的日常生活的行为准则的正当性和必要性。作为社会道德，完全可能本身是并不道德的，所以传统中国才会有“以礼杀人”的问题。作为个体道德就是对于良善道德的个体的把握和践履，即所谓“德者得也”。 对于学校德育的价值，一位学界同仁说得好：“德育不能安排人的生活，却能成就人的道德生活追求；德育不能左右生命，却能提高生命的质量；德育不能克隆美德，却能造就‘道德上成熟的人’”。

关于学校德育实效，普遍认为很不理想。之所以得出这样的结论，是因为我们的投入远远大于产出，当然还与我们过高的期望有关。我们学校德育实效低下的原因究竟是什么呢？

第一个原因就是我们的社会缺乏稳定的核心价值。什么叫核心的道德价值呢？所谓核心价值，就是每个人都能够自觉地认可，并且自觉去践履的，是其他价值的根据和理由。比如说在中国传统社会里面，就是仁义礼智信。在西方社会里面，就是自由、平等、民主、博爱、人权。我们今天说什么集体主义，爱国主义，社会主义，大家想想这个能不能作为所有国民的核心价值？在现代西方社会，自由、平等、民主、博爱、人权，那是所有人都会拥护的，因为这些东西对每一个人生命的质量，每一个人的幸福人生密切相关。谁不渴望自由，谁不渴望平等，谁不希望民主参与，谁不希望享受更多的人权，而在我们的文化中“集体”是一个被异化了的一个东西，所以我们现在要更多的倡导西方文化意义上的个人主义。西方意义的个人主义就是强调个人的责任，强调个人的价值。我们社会为什么落后？重要的原因是我们不尊重个人，不尊重个人的价值。

第二个原因就是我们的教育脱离学生生活实际，假大空的东西太多。在我们国人的骨子里，有一种“伪崇高”的东西。我们太容易把不是什么事的事当成一回事，太容易激动，太过敏感，太容易将平常的事往神圣上联想，这就容易导致虚情假意和伪崇高。

第三个原因就是无视我们学生道德主体性的培养。我们总是把道德更多理解成一种规则，一种要求，一种限制。其实，道德还有一个方面：它是个体和谐发展的要素，是一个人自我求取的空间，是好的生命境界的确证和表征。今天我们需要特别强调：“人不是为了体现道德而存在，道德是为了人更好的生活”。

健全的道德教育的目标应该由这样三点构成：不断提升学生的需要，培养学生理性的、自主性的道德判断和道德选择能力，帮助学生形成普遍化的道德。这三个方面分别是从情意、认知和行为来说的。

现代价值观必须摆脱自我与自私的束缚,跨越金钱与名利的栅栏,走出道德沦丧的怪圈,跳出明哲保身的沟壑,才能使道德之花绚烂,才能使助人为乐温暖人们的心。

现代价值观不能到文艺复兴的个性解放中挖掘,不能到萨特的存在主义中挑捡,不能到卡夫卡的人性异化中剪取,必须立足于社会主义的广阔背景,吸取五千年的道德精髓。让我们的明天美德随处可见,让看到别人困难却走开的人重新负起助人为乐的责任!

Education is culture, and different educations show different societies’ culture. Americans regard education as the means by which the inequalities among individuals are to be erased and by which every desirable end is to be achieved. While Chinese education is for foundation education, but students may be not learn much. But all in all, different education systems account for the different phenomenon, because different society backgrounds and different culture helps human create a different country in the world.

The different society structure plays an important part in the education system. In China, all those who can enter the University have received an elite education and before enrollment they have devoted themselves to hard studying. Therefore, they are good at getting high marks on mathematics, psychics and so on. However, they are lack of chances to practice skills in real world thus having no social experiences. In that case, after graduation, most students find it difficult to find a satisfactory job though many of them get a job through the relationship net.

While in America, the education system pays more attention to social skills than to marks .Students have developed the ability to be independence in life and work. After university, they show great capability of thinking, innovation and creation which make them keep pace with the modern world. They are competent for the challenging work and can gain a good job in America with ease.

There is a huge gap on education between America and China, but we can’t say which one is right or wrong, ‘cause each of the education system is based on the different backgrounds, American education should be following the American’s culture, meanwhile, Chinese education has to follow Chinese culture. A good education model for China is very important to the learning process, and also is very hard. But the most important thing we need is the modern education which is internationalization education system and localization education systems unite for China and America, this is also what the education itself needs.
