春节，家家户户都张灯结彩，得意洋洋。今年的春节，我过得特别有意义。直到今天，我还浮光掠影。 The Spring Festival, every family is full of lights and proud.This years Spring Festival is particularly meaningful.To this day, I still have a luminous light.

早晨，我们一家人忙开了。妈妈在大门上贴春联。映入我视线的是“日丽春常驻，人和福永留”。表示家庭平和幸福。我呢，则帮妈妈贴“福”字，正要贴在门上。妈妈赶紧阻止我，说道：“‘福’字应该倒贴，就是‘福’到的谐音，福莅临我们家了。春节帖春联有喜庆、财气、不祥之意。”我一听，赶紧把“福”字倒贴了。爸爸也在精心准备，挂起了一盏盏红灯笼。我想：这红灯笼难道不就代表着我们祖国的相貌在一日千里地变化着吗?

晚上，该是吃年夜饭的时分了。厨房里洋溢着香气;桌上摆放着丰富的晚餐，使人看了，口水直流。桌中间有一条鱼，那就表示年年有余。客人们也都到了，欢欢欣喜地坐在桌子面前，津津乐道地品味着年夜饭。爸爸妈妈笑容满面地招呼着客人。全家人都其乐融融，屋子里充溢了幸福的氛围。

吃完饭，外婆来分红包喽!我们家有一个小商定，小辈们拿到了奖状，不只有红包，还会有其他奖励。今年，我被评上了“三好学生”。外婆就分给我一份红包，还送给我一只精巧的文具盒。鼓舞我在新的一年里，学习成果更上一层楼。小孩子们都收到了红包，脸上显露了绚烂的笑容。

晚上八点整，我们全家准时翻开了电视机，收看“春节联欢晚会”。那悠扬的歌声，使人沉醉其中;那漂亮的舞姿，使人赞不绝口;那滑稽有趣的笑话，使人捧腹大笑;那精彩的相声小品，使人开怀大笑……阵阵欢声笑语荡漾在客厅上空。

今年的春节，我过得非常有意义。我希望明年春节，我会过得更好!

Waking up on New Year, everybody dresses up. First they extend greetings to their parents. Then each child will get money as a New Year gift, wrapped up in red paper. People in northern China will eat jiaozi, or dumplings, for breakfast, as they think "jiaozi" in sound means "bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new". Also, the shape of the dumpling is like gold ingot from ancient China. So people eat them and wish for money and treasure.

Southern Chinese eat niangao (New Year cake made of glutinous rice flour) on this occasion, because as a homophone, niangao means "higher and higher, one year after another." The first five days after the Spring Festival are a good time for relatives, friends, and classmates as well as colleagues to exchange greetings, gifts and chat leisurely.

China has 56 ethnic groups. Minorities celebrate their Spring Festival almost the same day as the Han people, and they have different customs.
