Competition is a common phenomenon in our social life. We compete when we play games and when we try to do better than others in our study. There is constant competition for academic degrees, jobs, customers, money and so forth. In a sense, competition is one of the motive force to the development of society.

In fact, the only way our world reward people is to give laurels to the winners, not to the losers. What is more, by attempting to compete at different activities, we learn to win and lose, gain experience and know our strengths and weaknesses. Competition prepares us for the tough things in life.

To go ahead, to acquire possession, we should be competitive. To us, industriousness and ambition are positive values.

Whether in games, in study or in business alike, the aim is to win the game, the degree, the trophy, and the contract. Learning to be competitive is clearly the best preparation for life.

在人的一生中，没有一个人是一帆风顺的，没有人是没有遇到过挫折和失败的。如何在学习生活中保持积极、奋发、乐观、进取的心态。

一个人只有拥有积极的心态，他才是活着的！我们大学生活需要这样的积极心态。积极的心态犹如太阳，照亮我们的前程。一个人满脑子充斥着的都是得过且过、不思进取等消极思想，拥有一个消极的心态，那么，这个人和行尸走肉又有何异？

那要怎样才能建立一个积极的心态？

首先，要具备自我创造的精神，要不断的提升自己，充实自己。其次，要心存感激，学会感恩，要感谢每一个帮助我们的人，常怀一颗感恩的心。最后，要学会称赞别人，称赞别人也是个人修养的一种体现。

在学习中，要保持永远的活力、激情，面对每一个科目，每一场考试，都要做充足的准备。在生活中，有积极向上的心，以饱满的热情对待生活，做好每一件小事。

拥有积极的心态尤为重要，有些事情我们无法改变，但我们可以改变自己。没有一个人是十全十美的，都会有缺陷，都会遇到困难。消极的人会自甘堕落，积极的人有用不完的办法。

莫为失败找借口，要为成功想办法。世上没有绝望的处境，只有对处境绝望的人。保持积极的心态，机会、好运总是会眷顾我们的。让我们对生活充满希望。

Some people think that opportunities result from luck.They think that it occurs randomly and are being given to people for no reason.Some think that there is no such thing as an opportunity,and that everything gained by a person must be done through hard work.But it is undeniable that opportunities are very important.They are like the extra step-up that puts you above the rest of the crowd should you be lucky enough to get it.I believe that opportunities are indeed fate; however,only those who are well prepared can grasp the opportunity given to them and make a change to their lives.

是什么使这位女士内心发生了这么大的转变呢?

沙漠没有改变，印第安人也没有改变，但是这位女士的念头改变了，心态改变了。一念之差，使她把原先认为恶劣的情况变为一生中最有意义的冒险。她为发现新世界而兴奋不已，并为些写了一本书，以《快乐的城堡》为书名出版了。

同一个学校，班主任的知识水平应该说没有明显的差异，差异很小。但这种很小的差异却往往造成了教育效果的很大差异。积极的教育心态容易使教育成功，消极的教育心态必导致教育失败。在这方面应该说，我们有切实的体会。

As students born after 1990, we have so many advantages. We are usually kind and helpful. When someone is in trouble, we always give him or her a hand. We are also active. We like to do sports and go traveling. Most of us can work hard in class and play happily after school. Besides, we are imaginative and creative. We always try something new and do everything differently.

On the other hand, we also have some disadvantages. Sometimes we can’t express our opinions in proper ways; sometimes we are a little over confident. And many students have no brothers or sisters, so they may do evthing for themselves. These problems may make us seem impolite, even we can’t communicate with others well. So it’s the most important for us to learn how to get on well with others.
