The spring festival, also called Chinese New Year, enjoys a long history of over 4,000 years. Unlike other festivals, the Spring festival is a period of time, rather than a single day. It starts from the first day of a new year and ends on January 15th, , of course in the Chinese lunar calendar. Then, on the morning of the New Years Day, people get up very early to stick couplets, on which all good wished are presented. Meanwhile, the red color of the couplets adds much to the joy of the splendid festival.

In addition, we have to visit our relatives from door to door as of the first day of the Spring Festival until the Lantern Festival, which is supposed to be a conclusion of the whole Spring Festival.
