Society Calls for Heroes

In my opinion, it is not so easy to be a hero. First,a hero must be brave. When he sees someone do a bad deed, he must be brave enough to catch him or to stop him. Secondly, he must be strong enough, otherwise he himself will be beaten to death. There are fewer heroes now because of several reasons. I think the most important reason is that people dont want to mind other peoples business. Because they think it will do them no good. But I think society calls for heroes. The topic of my speech today is “Being a Good Listener”.

Good listening can always show respect, promote understanding, and improve interpersonal relationship.

Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children, so they will understand them better, and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students, then they can meet their needs better, and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates, thus they will help and learn from each other, and a friendship is likely to be formed.

What I want to stress is that each of us should listen to others. 端午节为每年农历五月初五，又称端阳节、午日节、五月节等；端午节是中国汉族人民纪念屈原（屈平，字原，通常称为屈原，又自云名正则，号灵均，汉族，战国末期楚国丹阳人，楚武王熊通之子屈瑕的后代。屈原虽忠事楚怀王，却屡遭排挤，怀王死后又因顷襄王听信谗言而被流放，最终投汨罗江而死。屈原是中国最伟大的浪漫主义诗人之一，也是我国已知最早的著名诗人，世界文化名人。他创立了“楚辞”这种文体，也开创了“香草美人”的传统。代表作品有《离骚》《九歌》等。）的传统节日，更有吃粽子，赛龙舟，挂菖蒲、蒿草、艾叶，薰苍术、白芷，喝雄黄酒的习俗。“端午节”为国家法定节假日之一，并列入世界非物质文化遗产名录。

中国的传统节日丰富多彩，今天我就讲一讲中国的节日。

正月初一是春节，吃饺子，放鞭炮;正月十五元宵节，吃汤圆，赏花灯，猜灯谜;二十四节气中的清明节，是祭祖和扫墓的日子;八月十五中秋节，是家人团圆，一起吃团圆饭的日子……

我重点说一说春节吧!春节是一年中的第一个节日。人们就在自己家里先放炮竹后吃饺子。为什么要吃饺子呢?因为人们感觉冬天太冷了，中国人为了不让刺骨的寒风冻掉耳朵，就吃和耳朵长得很相似的食物——饺子。那为什么吃和耳朵相似的东西呢?可能是人们以为吃下去的“耳朵”可以当自己的脑袋上的那个耳朵的“备用品”。哈哈，你知道什么意思了吧!那又为什么要放炮竹呢?我听我爷爷说，古时候有一个怪兽，古人给他起了一个名字叫“年”，为什么呢?因为它只有过年时才来。“年”非常厉害，只要看见人就吃。人们又打不过它，只好躲在房子里。可是有一次过年，一个小女孩儿淘气的拿了一个炮竹出来了，“年”正好看见她，就想扑过来吃了这个女孩儿，这个女孩儿因为紧张而不小心点燃了炮竹，又不自主的向“年”丢去，只见“年”打了一个冷颤，等炮竹爆炸了，“年”就吓得后退了几十丈远。一会儿“年”又回来了，旁边的人把这一幕看在眼里就都放起炮竹来，把“年”吓的飞跑出去，所以以后只要过年就会放炮竹。

中国传统节日就是这么丰富。咦!你们有没有发现中国的每一个节日都少不了吃?

小时候由于家里穷，外婆没读什么书。但是，我觉得外婆特别有知识，她说的话经常让我耳目一新。

每年的立春，外婆都很忙，忙着买鞭炮，忙着向各处的老年人打听今年立春的时辰。我问外婆：“为什么要看时辰？”外婆说：“老话说，一年之计在于春！迎接好春，往后的日子就会顺顺利利！”

眼看着立春的时辰就要到了，外婆在阳台上做好了接春的准备：放上三杯茶水、三杯红酒，还有一盘苹果、一盘橘子，还摆着用红线捆着的三根大蒜，并点上三柱香，燃上两根蜡烛。我好奇地问：“这些东西是干什么用的呀？”外婆说是：“祈福用的，老话说苹果代表平平安安，橘子代表吉祥如意！”我又问：“那大蒜呢？”外婆捏了捏我的鼻子笑着说：“那代表会精打细算过日子”。原来这些普普通通的物品，有这么深刻的寓意啊！我高兴地说：“那我也来帮忙！”我手忙脚乱的去厨房拿酒瓶准备添酒，结果手没抓稳，“啪”的一声，瓶子打在地上碎了，我惊慌失措地叫着：“不好了！外婆！”外婆看见了，赶忙一边收拾，一边嘴里念叨着：“不要紧，不要紧，老话说了，碎碎（岁岁）平安，碎碎（岁岁）平安！”啊哈！坏事在外婆嘴里变成了好事，外婆的“老话”总是让我心里感到踏实！接春时刻一到，外婆就“噼里啪啦”放起了鞭炮。

接春之后，全家人坐在一起吃春卷。春卷是立春吃的特定美食，面皮里包着胡萝卜、豆芽、切碎的豆腐干、肉丝等，好香啊！我迫不及待拿了一个春卷放进嘴里，“哎呀喂，好辣啊！”原来是外婆在包春卷时，悄悄放了一个小小的红辣椒。“老话说，谁吃到辣椒，就寓意着她的日子会过得红红火火。”外婆说，“哈哈！佳佳你吃到了，那你读书的热情要像这辣椒一样红红火火呦！”全家人听了都哈哈大笑。

这就是我们家的立春，外婆的“老话”让我们的生活温暖如春！

在春节里的习俗很多，我很喜欢贴对联。我们在商场买了一对春联，上联是：“万事如意家业兴”下联“出入平安丁财旺”。回到家，我像狂风一样快跑到门口，我拿着椅子又搬到门口爬上去，我先拿上联，再拿下联，然后听着妈妈的指挥，最后千辛万苦的把上下联贴好。

我不仅喜欢贴春联，还喜欢一家人在一起吃团圆饭，到了吃饭的时间，桌子上有许多又美味又好吃的食物，有烤鸡、年糕、红烧鱼、包子、饺子等等。我们一家人其乐融融坐在一起，吃着美味的饭菜，你一句我一句，好热闹啊！餐厅里不时还发出阵阵笑声，真是太幸福。

吃完团圆饭，让我最期待的一个环节就是拿红包了，在拿红包之前，家长都给小孩子发一个红包，预示着来年的生活都会红红火火。但是红包可不能白拿，还要通过小关卡，那就是说出关于春节的词语，这时，我们都开动自己的小脑袋，想出平时积累的词语。

春节是一个特别有趣的节日，我爱春节，真希望下一个春节快点到。

春节的欢闹悄然逝去，转眼间火红的元宵又即将来到。

我趴在光线淡暗的小书桌上，翻弄着那几张五颜六色被我叠得皱巴巴的却一道也答不上来的灯谜小纸条。

妈妈在乱七糟八的厨房里倒腾着，半透明的玻璃门关得严严实实。我知道，她在弄那糯米粉，做元宵。我走进了厨房，帮着妈妈忙碌起来。

右手抄起了一袋“老北京”汤圆粉，轻轻地撒了进去，像一盘细白的散沙悄无声息地扩散开来到米盆的角落。

撒进去后，再倒上清泉似的温开水，糯米粉随着温开水有节奏地调配得十分均匀。渐渐地糯米和水融为一体，我用手腕和手掌不断地按压着糯米团，/将碗里残留的糯米粘下来。一拉一扯，有弹性的糯米渐渐成为了一个大大的雪白糯米团。

从冰箱里取出赤红色细小的酥麻。酥麻中再放入红糖和白砂糖混合，成为香甜酥脆的酥麻馅儿。

再取出大拇指大的糯米团，在中间放呈小拇指大小的酥麻馅儿，再包裹起来不要露出一丁点儿来。慢慢搓成了一个甜美的小圆球。
