The exact origins of Duan Wu are unclear, but one traditional view holds that the festival memorializes the Chinese poet Qu Yuan of the Warring States Period. He committed suicide by drowning himself in a river because he was disgusted by the corruption of the Chu government. The local people, knowing him to be a good man, decided to throw food into the river to feed the fishes to prevent them from eating Qus body. 包粽子、赛龙舟这些在端午节里是少不了的,到处都洋溢着节日的浓浓氛围,同样我们家也少不了端午节包粽子的习俗。

我们开始包粽子了,我看着妈妈滚瓜烂熟的动作,心里痒痒的,于是我也学着妈妈的样子包起粽来。首先拿起一片青青的竹叶,将它折成圆锥体,放入一些糥米,中间加入一起妈妈秘制好了肉,放些瑶柱、五花肉、冬菇……再折回竹叶,包的严实一些,这样糥米才不会跑出来,还可以根据自已喜欢的形状包各式各样的。有的是圆形,有的是长方形,有的是经典三角形……,最后用一根又细又长的绳把每个角都紧紧地捆住,我也包了一个大大的粽子,里面的馅可多了,包好放入锅中,厨房里飘来阵阵清香。

这个端午节一家人一起包了粽子,一边吃着香喷喷的粽子,一边分享喜悦。让我难忘的端午节,妈妈告诉,这个端午节是人民为了纪念伟大诗人屈原而设的传统节日。
