每年，我们都要过元宵节。大家都知道，元宵节是中国的传统节日。那么，元宵节的由来又是什么呢?在这一天，人们的习俗又是什么?我为大家一一解答。

元宵节早在2000多年前的西汉就有了，元宵赏灯始于东汉明帝时期，明帝提倡佛教，听说佛教有正月十五日僧人观佛舍利，点灯敬佛的做法，就命令这一天夜晚在皇宫和寺庙里点灯敬佛，令士族庶民都挂灯。以后这种佛教礼仪节日逐渐形成民间盛大的节日。农历的元月，古人称夜为“宵”，所以称正月十五为元宵节。后来，汉文帝正式下令将正月十五定为元宵节。

在这一天，可热闹啦。正月十五闹元宵，我们一家都去看花灯，猜灯谜。来到运河，只见花灯的种类繁多，样式美丽，让人目不转睛，真是看都看不过来。瞧，那一盏盏五彩缤纷千姿百态的花灯真是令人大饱眼福。有红彤彤的"五角星"，昂首挺胸的"小公鸡"，活泼可爱的"小猴子”，甚至还有龙、玉兔等神话中才能出现的大人物哩!你瞧，那儿有一只可爱的小兔。它有两只宝珠般的圆眼，美丽极了。一阵风吹来，把灯吹的微微晃动，小兔就更逼真了，栩栩如生，让我忍不住遐想：莫不是陪伴着嫦娥的玉兔下凡来了呢?晚上九点了，我和爸爸妈妈只好依依不舍地离开。但观灯的人还是络绎不绝，各种彩色的灯像天上的繁星一样，大放光彩。真是"一夜花灯醉，只缘春意浓”啊!

元宵节还有很多习俗，比如吃元宵、舞狮子、耍龙灯等等，非常精彩。这些民俗表演为元宵节增添了更多的乐趣，也更加显示出了中国传统文化的博大精深。
