The 9th day of the 9th lunar month is the traditional Chongyang Festival, or Double Ninth Festival. It usually falls in October in the Gregorian calendar. In an ancient and mysterious book Yi Jing, or The Book of Changes, number 6 was thought to be of Yin character, meaning feminine or negative, while number 9 was thought to be Yang, meaning masculine or positive. So the number nine in both month and day create the Double Ninth Festival, or Chongyang Festival. Chong in Chinese means double. The custom of ascending a height to avoid epidemics was passed down from long time ago. Therefore, the Double Ninth Festival is also called Height Ascending Festival. The height people will reach is usually a mountain or a tower. Ancient literary figures have left many poems depicting the activity. Even today, people still swarm to famous or little known mountains on this day.

On this day, people will eat Double Ninth Gao (or Cake). In Chinese, gao (cake) has the same pronunciation with gao (height). People do so just to hope progress in everything they are engaged in. There is no fixed ways for the Double Ninth Cake, but super cakes will have as many as nine layers, looking like a tower.

The Double Ninth Festival is also a time when chrysanthemum blooms. China boasts diversified species of chrysanthemum and people have loved them since ancient times. So enjoying the flourishing chrysanthemum also becomes a key activity on this festival. Also, people will drink chrysanthemum wine. Women used to stick such a flower into their hair or hang its branches on windows or doors to avoid evilness.

中秋节的时间是每年的农历八月十五日，我国从古代就有赏月的习俗，还有许多美丽的传说，比如说嫦娥奔月、吴刚伐桂、玉兔捣药等等。中秋节还有吃月饼的习俗，因为月饼圆圆的，象征着团圆。现在的月饼很多，口味各不相同，有甜的有咸的。馅料也很丰富，有五仁的、有果脯的、有豆沙的、有枣泥的、有椰蓉的，还有蛋黄的等等。我最喜欢的是果脯馅的，因为它甜甜的，很好吃。

我喜欢中秋节，祝愿天下的小朋友都能和家人过一个团圆节。

我的家乡是广州，那里是个人来人往、车水马龙、热闹非凡的地方。

广州是岭南的一个窗口，经过多年的努力，面貌发生了很大的变化：街区的建筑物焕然一新，道路两旁绿树成荫，空气清新了，天变蓝了，河、涌可以供人们嬉戏游泳了。晚上，珠江两岸灯火辉煌，五光十色，好像一座不夜城;立交桥和内环路纵横交错，好像一张巨大的网;BRT的建成，为公交提速，为上班的人们争取了时间;多座现代化大桥的通车，为缓解过江的压力起了重要的作用;高楼大厦到处林立，繁华的商业区像雨后的春笋不断冒出来;免费公园拆除了围栏，方便市民出入……

我想，未来的家乡会越来越美丽，交通会越来越畅顺，变化会更大更好，人们的幸福指数会越来越高，它将成为南中国一颗璀殩的明珠。

中国有很多历史悠久的传统节日，其中，我最喜欢春节！

大年二八二九，我们就开始筹备我们家的春晚节目。我和姐姐写了一块牌子，写着：“不许进来”，就锁上门，往白纸上写字，我们要准备一场“家庭春晚”。我们写好台词，又苦背了起来。接着，我和姐姐拿上零花钱，奔向家门对面的小店，买了一些糖果，装进礼物盒，剪了窗花挂在墙上，又用美术字写上：“新春快乐”！呀！美丽极了，我和姐姐乐得手舞足蹈。

吃年夜饭了，爷爷大显身手，可口的饭菜一盘一盘地端上来，我的肚子吃了个滚圆。

吃完年夜饭，我们精彩的节目在舞台上一个个上演，台下观众发出雷鸣般的鼓掌声。我们心里美滋滋的，那天晚上，我做了一个甜甜的梦！

我最喜欢过春节，喜欢热闹的春节，喜欢团圆的春节！

我国的传统节日有很多，如元宵节、端午节、中秋节……当然，最热闹的是春节。

早上，我们早早地起来就闻到了一阵甜甜的香味，我飞快的跑到厨房一看哈!原来是汤圆，我盛了一碗热气腾腾的汤圆，忍不住先尝一口，真是又甜又糯，还滑滑的。叫过大家一起来吃后，我就先津津有味的吃了起来。

吃完早饭，爸爸把我写的春联贴在了门口。后来，我跟着爸爸去买鞭炮。我们满载而归地回家时，妈妈已经把土豆、五花肉、毛豆、蘑菇等一些材料拿了出来。

下午到了，妈妈要做新年里的第一顿晚餐了。首先，妈妈把整只鸡和蘑菇先放入沙锅内炖着;再把别的菜都分类洗好，妈妈就开始切菜烧菜了。先把土豆切成丝、过水;再把锅烧热，放上油，等油热了之后，把土豆丝放入锅里翻炒……时间过得真快，转眼间，晚饭做好了，我们一家人高高兴兴的吃着新年的第一顿晚饭。

饭后，我们听到了一阵阵打雷般的响声，开始放鞭炮了。烟花有的像一朵朵美丽的花儿;有的像一个个正在跳舞的小精灵，给黑暗的天空增加了一丝丝光明;还有的像一只只翩翩起舞的蝴蝶。各种各样的烟花数也数不清，我都看得眼花缭乱了。

过春节可真好啊!

我最喜欢的传统节日是中秋节。

中秋节的下午，我放学时，回到妈妈店里，踮起脚尖，轻轻地来到她身边，大叫：“我回来了！”把妈妈和秋黄姐姐吓个一跳，然后假装开开心心地出去。她们还没反应过来，都目瞪口呆站在那。之后我要开始偷月饼了！我放下书包，开始观察她们的一举一动。趁她们没注意，呲溜一声偷了三个我最喜欢的月饼——豆沙馅的。我拿了一个袋子，把它装到袋子里，看着就想流口水。不过，到晚上才能吃，因为只有晚上，才有圆圆的月亮。一分钟、十分钟、一小时……终于到了晚上，我拿着月饼，坐在园子里一边看一边吃。

我太喜欢中秋节了，不过我的秘密也泄漏了！

春节是人们在一年中最快活、最热闹的节日。提到春节，我们的传统就多姿多彩啦!有的贴对联啦、有的吃汤圆啦、有的收红包啦、有的看烟花啊、有舞龙舞狮啊等等。

贴春联是民间庆祝春节的第一件事。每当接近春节的时候，家家户户都会选上一副新的对联，贴在大门的两边。对联上都是一些好的词句，表达人们对新的一年美好的祝愿。说到对联，我想到了一个有趣的“倒福”故事。从前有一个人把福倒过来贴，一个人路过，看到福字被倒过来贴就喊：“福倒(到)了，福倒(到)了”自此以后，人们常常把福字倒过来贴，代表福倒了。

除夕夜，家家户户都喜欢做汤圆，一家人一起吃汤圆，代表团团圆圆。

我最喜欢的春节风俗就是——收红包。红包也叫“压岁钱”。年初一早上我的枕头下都会有红包，是爸爸妈妈在除夕夜我睡着了以后放的。妈妈说这样会帮我压惊。还有互相拜年的时候大人总是要给小孩红包，表示大吉大利。

就是这个传统风俗使我们在春节里过得很快乐!

Last Sunday, Jack had a relaxing Sunday. He got up 6 o’clock. After breakfast, Jack played basketball with his friends. They were very happy. Then he played the guitar in the room. And he sang songs very loudly. Though it’s very relaxing for him, it also make very noisy for neighbors. Maybe he should turn down the music. At noon, jack fed his pet cat henry. He is Jack’s favorite. Jack always play with him on the weekends. At night, he watched TV on the sofa. At the some time, he ate many delicious snacks. So he really had a great time.

At the of day, jack thought if I always have a relaxing Sunday like today. I will become the happiest boy all over the world.
